PUROFIRST

We had a fire which resulted in a full loss of the house (fire/smoke upper floor - water damage lower floors). The insurance company sent this company out for the emergency services and restoration. TERRIBLE 1ST IMPRESSIONS! The first representatives of this company didn't appear on scene until at least 2 1/2 hours after the fire department released the scene. During this time, we had to fight off the 'board-up vultures' hovering around the site. All the while, we were trying to get updates on the ETA from the project manager/lead estimator who was only in contact via mobile phone. When the Puro reps finally showed up, we had a very difficult time identifying who was legitimately part of their crew. Only the foreman and one other worker wore shirts representing the company. None of the workers spoke fluent English, except for the one on the phone (who, incidentally never showed up). Fortunately, the insurance company responded to our reservations caused by this first impression by calling in two other restoration firms. We are certainly glad they did. I'll be posting a rave review for one company while the other will get a comment like this. While I cannot comment on the quality of craftsmanship or prices, I can comment on the 1st impressions. I would think that an emergency restoration company would be prompt and exercise careful discretion especially in the tension-filled environment of a fire loss.
