Let me preface this with the fact that I live in a 100+ unit condominium complex, and this company literally holds a monopoly on the building's costs. When I moved in in December 2008, I wanted HD DVR that was comparable to my HD TiVo that I already owned before my move. I already knew that TiVo is incompatable with the satellite service provided, so I was expecting to have to purchase a new DVR. I researched products that were compatible with the satellite service brand that Prime Time Sports (PTS) provided. I purchased the product at another electronics store, but PTS refused to install it; rather, the installation person required that we purchase *their own DVR* or else it was a no-go. My husband is technical and I am a professor; the installer could not legitimately explain why his product was necessary and ours would not work. Point of story: Upsell. He had us where he wanted us because we had no alternate service option. Fast forward to April 2009. Residents in condo message board begin to complain that they are losing satellite service. I was not one of them until a Friday afternoon. Hours are 8am to 4:30 pm M-F to answer service calls. I have to wait until Monday to even SCHEDULE a visit, let alone have a repair. I'm left wondering to myself, "In what universe is is acceptable for a service provider to operate on hours/days like this?" Their operating hours force the consumer to wait 72 hours to even speak with a person to schedule an appointment. At the very least, one would expect PTS to have an appointment scheduler working after hours or one weekend day. I'm left wondering if this company recognizes that their niche (servicing large condo associations) is lucrative in that the individual units are deprived of a choice, and they can provide abysmal service "just because they can." If you *do* have them as a choice, opt for a different provider.

I had one of the most PLEASANT experiences with this cable/satellite company EVER. I called on Friday to set up the installation for the receiver and they said they would be there on Monday between 12 and 3. Promptness earns a big gold star in my book. On Monday, I had a busy day at work and called them and spoke to Agnes to see if the technician could call me 15 minutes before he was to arrive so I can leave work and meet him at home. She said it would not be a problem. When Monday rolled around I got a call at 3:00 p.m from the technician saying he was outside. I told him that I asked to get a phone call 15 minutes before he was to come by, but he said it would not be a problem and he would wait. I met Alfonso about 15 minutes later and he was very kind and professional. Took less than 20 minutes. He showed me how to use the remote control and explained everything. Alfonso deserves a huge pat on the back for changing my view of cable/satellite technicians.
Description of Work: Installation and set up of satellite in apartment unit in the living room. Side note: I did not spend any money since the service was included in our monthly rent (:

Our experience with this company has been terrible from the beginning. They missed the initial installation appointment and nobody called. WE contacted them and rescheduled. Once we were connected we found out that they had failed to install the antenna that allowed us to get local hd channels. After approximately 2 months, they agreed to come back and complete the work. After the antenna was installed, we found that we still did not get all of the local channels in HD. Numerous technicians came out and all agreed that a second antenna or a signal blocker was required. However, each time (5 separate occasions) they did not have the proper equipment and said they would come back. This has been going on for 2 years now. We call their office and get the run around, if we can get through. Avoid this company at all costs.
Description of Work: Company installed a multi-unit DirecTV system for our condo building. This included installation of a satellite dish on our building's roof as well as an off-air antenna. The company also installed a distribution system that sent the signal to the individual units, including our own. There was no charge for the building components. Individual unit owners such as us had to pay for equipment in our units as well as a yearly charge on top of what we pay to DirecTv.
