The space itself was finished to a high quality and the workers involved made sure they did a solid job. Some extra work was discovered along the way, and Matrix provided options and solutions to figure out how to get it done right. Nothing felt rushed. I would hire them again for future projects. Remember to consider not just the room you are wanting to finish, but the entrances and connective spaces that will be impacted as well. They may need updates to keep the whole house feeling like a consistent structure.

They finished my basement in 6 weeks and their field manager, Ben, was very responsive and polite. They offer many options for us to customize our basement. It was a pleasure working with Matrix. I will definitely use them again for future projects

Great experience with Matrix. From the initial quote to the finishing touches just an all-around quality product and team. Like any project we had small changes and challenges along the way but Matrix walked us through options and made us feel comfortable and we’re just extremely happy with our new basement. Every single person that came in to the house to help with parts of the job were extremely professional, friendly and respectful. Great team. Our project manager and foreman, Shawn, was there every step of the way. Always available by phone and text he was a key reason the project ran so efficiently. It went awesome! It was a great experience from the first person I talked to on the phone to the salesman that came out to the house all the way out through the build out. They quality of work was amazing and the whole process was seamless. We did not have time to mess with contractors and chasing people down. Timelines were met and it came out exactly how we envisioned it! I would highly recommend that anyone out there looking to have their basement done to call Matrix!

Be careful! When they come out for a design consultation, they are going to pressure you with the hard sell. Our basement plan, after a lengthy timeshare-type intro, started at $72,000 and dropped quickly to $45,000 if we agreed to sign up and pay them 30% RIGHT NOW. The designer who came does not appear to be an architect, and the design solutions he proposed reflected that. It was an exhausting, very long, marketing-heavy experience that left me with a terrible headache. I understand this type of sales pitch for a closet or a vacuum cleaner, but for a $45,000 ($72,000?) home renovation project, it was WAY off the mark.

Our basement is beyond beautiful!!! We wanted a clean, open, and bright space that matched the feel of the rest of our home. We wanted a modern basement that we could use for years to come and would enhance our lifestyle. Through the entire process our team helped accomplish all of our goals and always made every adjustment needed to accommodate our wishes. Shawn is the best project manager you could ever ask for, he went above and beyond to check on us and make sure the project ran smoothly from start to finish. Shawn came to the house often and would check in on us to ensure that we were happy and that the design was 100 percent perfect. I can’t say enough about how happy and lucky we feel about getting to work with Shawn on this project! Jose and his team not only do excellent work but are also polite and friendly. If you are finishing a basement, call these people! You will not regret it.

All the people we came into contact with at Matrix were wonderful! Ben was the main guy on site and he was great. We appreciated his communication about the upcoming steps and what to expect next throughout the process. A special thank you to Anthony and Jay! Anthony was the foreman who handled all the scheduling and answered questions via phone. We don’t know how Anthony juggles it all, but he did and was readily available to us when we needed him. We met Jay closer to the end of the project. Jay is very knowledgeable and his work is exemplary! We are happy with the overall work that was completed in our basement and have received many compliments. The foam insulation they use is also very effective - our basement is now the warmest room in our house!

Matrix Basement System is the best!! Jamie Verhines, our project manager, is professional, polite and extremely knowledgeable. The matrix crews were excellent at their jobs. They were on time and worked hard. We started our project in September and it was finished before thanksgiving. Whenever we needed help Jamie was prompt to respond and even though our project is over and paid for Jamie sent over someone to help us regulate the heat today. From the start, everything about Matrix was fantastic. Our initial sales consultation was smooth and quick. We had a few questions regarding different costs for different materials and configuration for our basement, and Jordan was able to show us those easily. We moved forward with what we felt was a very reasonable cost estimate for our basement, and that amount only changed when we made a slight modification. When they say the price you start with is what you pay, it’s a refreshing difference from some interactions with other contractors. We couldn’t have asked for a better project manager than Shawn. He was always a phone call/text away and made sure that we were kept in the loop every step of the way; even making sure to stop by any time that we had question about our project. Jose is a jack of all trades and did excellent work, from start to finish. Between Shawn and Jose, they always went above and beyond. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Matrix to friends and family, particularly if they are lucky enough to work with Shawn and Jose!

Matrix was very easy to work with. Very happy with the look of my basement. There were a lot of complicated molding cuts that are very precise. Extremely happy how it turned out. Even about a month after the project was officially closed they came back and did some additional paint touch ups after I decorated my basement.

We needed to update our existing basement and could not have been happier that we chose Matrix to do the work. They took the time to consult with us as to our needs and arrived with a plan that encompassed all of our needs. Our project was made all of the more difficult because our basement includes a fully functional model railroad layout that could not be moved and the workers could not have been better in working around this obstacle. Based on the recommendation of a neighbor, we contracted with Matrix Basement and we're so glad we did. Every person we met or spoke with was professional. Once given a timeline and the schedule, every professional showed up on time and completed their work on time. We really did not have to do anything other than watch them turn our vision into reality.

Awful. Do not recommend this company. We had problems with work and when contacted to fix the problems. We never received a call back or email back from the company. Awful experience and is not worth the money.

I couldn’t be happier with the amazing job Matrix did in transforming my unfinished basement into a 1,600 square foot in-law-suite for my mother. It does not look like a basement. It’s absolutely beautiful. But what is most important is the quality of work that was done. This living space was built to last. Matrix was by far not the cheapest, but they were definitely the best! You get what you pay for, and I have to say that this investment was worth every dollar spent. The people working for Matrix far exceeded our expectations. They were friendly, professional, and great at what they do. They were in our home morning until evening, weekdays and weekends. They were there working when we were home, and in our home when we were away. I never felt hesitant or uncomfortable for one moment with any of them. They respected us and our home. This was made possible by the excellent leadership of the project manager, Steve. He was our go to person, he made sure every detail was exactly how we wanted it. We had his personal cell phone number, and could contact him and any time with questions or concerns. He took everything to heart and treated this project as if it was for his own family. He was so kind and understanding with my mother while he worked to make my basement her dream home. Steve takes pride in the work he does, and the crew he leads. He was here every day checking on the progress, Making sure everything stayed in track, keeping us informed of the process and what to expect.
