Dahme Mechanical Industries

My washing machine water line burst. Mike and Dennis came out and fixed the problem. I use Dahme for all of my plumbing needs.

All were completed quickly and without issues. These fellows are the best.

Dennis quickly determined that our shower was leaking through a crack in the fixture. Because he was going to have to replace the old fixture, I decided to upgrade both my showers to be single control, ADA compliant. He also installed grab bars in each shower. It was time consuming work but Dennis did a great job. His work was so neat. Soldering was clean. Plaster cut for access and replaced. No cracked tiles. I highly recommend Dennis’ work and Dahme.

I use Dahme for all of my plumbing needs. They do quality work. They explain the issue and then they fix it. Mike is the best.

We made an appointment for the work, and the plumber arrived on time. It took him an hour to pull the toilet, put in a new gasket, and replace the toilet and all the connections. He left the work area spotless. We have used Dahme Mechanical many times for various plumbing needs, and have always been satisfied. Their workers are friendly and professional. They do the job right the first time, and never leave a mess.

It wasn't an emergency, but they were able to get someone out here within the hour. They were very good.

Very smooth. Mike found the least intrusive way to the damage since access in crawl space was not an option.

The plumber wasn't able to reach the pipe from the attic so had to open up the soffit in the kitchen to replace the pipe. Work was done efficiently and professionally as far as I can tell. He covered the sink and refrigerator well and swept the floor afterwards, but I later found dust and debris in the cabinets below the area worked on and in the recycling bin. I was mostly satisfied, though, and would probably use Dahme again.

First the plumber introduced himself to me. Then he and checked where the pipes were. After placing tarps down to protect my flooring the plumber brought in his equipment. While working he was very polite and answered all the questions my children had for him. After clearing the drain line he cleaned up all of his equipment and the area he worked in. He made sure all of the drains worked and that the problem was solved.

He did great work. The work site was cleaned up when finished.

They always get the job done really well. They are just not cheap, so you get what you pay for with them.

It turned out perfect. Their punctuality and quality of service are the things that stands out to me about them. They were informative. I liked that they were clean when they came in to the house and they cleaned up after themselves. They were very courteous. I heard about them through word of mouth.

No response to 2 Angie's List messages, one on 8/29/13 and second on 10/4/13. No company web site for email or contact form found.

I have used them for years, both at the office and at my house. They are full service plumbing; they do just about everything. They have always been very thorough and responsive, timely and prompt. They are fine while addressing questions and concerns.

It went very well. Dennis did all of the things we talked about and did them well.

In the past 6 months, I have had 2 plumbing emergencies, one in which my hot water heater stopped working on a Friday night. I called and left a message and then called again on Saturday, and they NEVER returned my call- I suspect it is because when I left the message I asked if the 5 year old water heater was warrantied, and it probably was and maybe it wasn't "worth it" to them-who knows. My husband ended up "rebooting" the blower motor and it lasted for a while. The second emergency was when our basement drain backed up raw sewage on a Saturday, and they NEVER returned the message I left. I subsequently called another plumber-Jack Blanton-who was very responsive, prompt, and honest. Today I called because the repair my husband had done on the water heater did not last and the heater went out again. Although my husband was able to "reboot" the blower motor, we are going to have to replace the blower motor. I called Dahme to see if they would warranty the work. Since it is a week day, they answered and told me that only the tank is covered and that I would have to pay to replace the part. I don't know what this would have cost, because I didn't ask as my husband was looking into replacing just the part. My husband looked found out that the plumbing contractors supplier will trade the part for free because it is a warrantied part. He will have to remove it and we will have no hot water all day until he comes home from work and replaces the part. So I called Dahme to see if they would cover it and the person answering the phone was rude and condescending. She told me Dahme would have to charge me to replace the part and that only the tank was warrentied. When I told her that the plumber's supplier would not charge Dahme for the part if they came out to fix it, she said "We will NOT come out to fix it." I told her that the other thing that they would NOT do is come out to our house for any work again. How it looks to me is that Dahme does not guarantee their work; care about repeat business; and they charge for parts that they get for free. It also looks like they lie when they say that a part is not under warranty when the plumbers supplier says it is a warrantied part. By the way, the representative at Dahme that I spoke with this morning got off the phone with me at the beginning of my inquiry saying that she would look into my account, find out what unit I have and get back to me with an answer. She knew full well what kind of water heater I had and certainly should know that the part was under warranty. She also told me that she was going to talk to the owner. When she called back, she said that the owner told her we would have to charge for the part. I used to refer people to Dahme, now I say, buyer beware.

We were concerned that we had a major problem similar to a neighbor down the street. The neighbor highly recommended Dahme and we called them to come and take a look at our problem. After about 30 minutes, he concluded that we did not have a serious problem (like our neighbor) and found the source of the sewer flies. The problem was a broken P-trap in the downstairs shower drain. We did not have it fixed yet as we are preparing to remodel the basement entirely. It was a relief to know that we did not have a serious sewer problem before we started the basement remodel.

I think they are very expensive. They told me that I needed new faucets, instead of fixing the leak on the existing faucets that are very nice. I'm just not impressed.

I didn't ask for an estimate. They came out 4 days after the call. I had asked for the spigot to be replaced the day before they came out and they weren't sure they'd be able to do. All work was completed. Service man was very polite, punctual, professional. He was here about 3 hrs. Spigot is very sturdy looking with a nice large handle. I was a little surprised by the cost and the time he spent here, but the finished product looks great.

The serviceman was on time and answered any questions I had. I have used this company twice, mainly because of sewer rodding, and I will use them again. They seem fair and reasonable and I would recommend them.

THE WERE QUICK AND EFFICIENT. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT I WAS NOT TOLD OF TRAVEL CHARGES WHEN I CALLED FOR APPOINTMENT. THEY TOLD ME OF THIS CHARGE AFTER WORK WAS COMPLETED. I CALLED THE OFFICE AND TALKED WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AND TOLD HIM I WAS NOT GOING TO PAY THE TRAVEL CHARGES, BECAUSE I WAS NOT TOLD OF THEM BEFORE HAND. HE WAIVED THE TRAVEL CHARGES.

THEY WERE A LITTLE EXPENSIVE BUT THEY WERE WORTH IT! I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

I LIVED IN A VERY OLD HOUSE AND THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM VERY EFFECTIVELY. I HAD TO FIX THE PROBLEM IN ORDER TO SELL MY HOME. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE WORK THEY DID. BEFORE THE JOB STARTED THE OWNER CAME AND INSPECTED EVERYTHING HIMSELF AND TOOK AN INVENTORY OF ALL PARTS THAT WOULD BE NEEDED, AND THEN HE CAME BACK AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE TO DO A FINAL INSPECTION AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS CORRECT. THEY ARE GREAT TO WORK WITH AND I WOULD DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN.
