Do not do business with Roman and the Ripe Off Ninja Floor Turtles!! Roman did my floors several years ago, was above average job. Roman made several mistakes and had to come back a couple of times to fix problem. Very unreliable! I called to get a quote for more new flooring, It took a week for him to get to my house and still waiting for quote. When I reached out to Roman his text message was (I’m not sure when I can finish your quote. I'm very busy with work and paperwork lately. I suggest you find someone else to do your project!) Don't trust him with your floors...no lack of professionalism!

The Flooring Ninja came highly recommended by a coworker. The accolades were well-deserved! Roman and his team were meticulous in every aspect their work. From prep to clean-up their expertise and professionalism shown brightly. The floors are gorgeous! We could not be happier!!

Top quality result. He started on Monday and was totally finished on Friday with minor caulking job. He made beautiful thresholds between foyer and kitchen where the surfaces were not even. They were very careful and ended up with 2 big garbage bags of very fine saw dust that was collected in an attached bag while they sanded. I would supply pictures but am not computer savvy.

The rep never showed up for the apt. nor did he call in advance of it nor after. I assume it is representative of the work he would have done for me. I will absolutely take my business elsewhere.

He did an excellent job. My family and friends really love the transformation. My only complaint would be the amount of dust created everywhere but other than that ROMAN created a masterpiece.

We interviewed several flooring contractors before deciding on The Flooring Ninja. We were won over by Roman's strategic thinking and his "do the job right the first time" attitude. This was a perfect match for us since we knew some of the rooms in our house needed to have a leveling agent applied to the concrete slab before the vinyl planks could be installed. Roman and his co-worker, Max, are detail-oriented, knowledgeable, with an incredible work ethic to boot. Their standard workday is 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the job site. One of the nicest aspects of working with Roman is his integrity; if he told you he would do something, he followed through. Working with a contract requires frequent communication. Roman excelled at keeping in touch with the littlest details, emailing or texting me daily to ensure we were on the same page with flooring decisions and to coordinate arrival and departure times from our home. Although we are not fussy about dust and dirt when work in being done in my home, it was a pleasant surprise to discover The Flooring Ninja crew places a vacuum nozzle next to drills and saws to minimize dust. Our floors look beautiful and we would seek Roman and his team again if we need additional flooring work completed.

Working with Roman was an excellent experience. This project was an emergency situation where a previous company had already attempted to finish our floors but were not able to match the stain color of our second floor. Roman, understanding the necessary techniques required to accomplish this project, squeezed it into his already busy schedule. Compared to other flooring contractors I have worked with in the past, Roman's project proposal was professional, clear and concise with all of the necessary details included within the contract. Also, Roman and Alex were respectful and organized where the job site was cleaned at the end of every work day. I highly recommend The Flooring Ninja!

After doing extensive research on Houzz and Angie's List, I came across The Flooring Ninja. My husband immediately contacted Roman and left a message. Roman returned his call within minutes providing us with a rough estimate for the job. Within a few days, Roman came out and gave us an official estimate after seeing what the job entailed. Once I met with Roman, I knew we were in good hands. We received the official estimate a day later. Like most people looking to do some home improvement work, we wanted to do our homework. We did have a few other contractors bid out our job, but we passed on them. Roman was not the cheapest, but he also wasn't the most expensive. As soon as I goto talk to Roman and hear his thoughts and ideas, I just KNEW he was our guy! Roman is a very smart man that thinks everything through very carefully. He is a perfectionist, and that was really important to me. I knew he took pride in his work. Roman and his team are extremely hardworking. If we saw them take a break, it was maybe 10 minutes and then they were back to work for the rest of the day. These guys are dedicated! When Roman and his team finish for the day, they left our house clean and tidy. We never walked into a mess. Roman and his team also arrive when they say they are going to and often stay longer to get more work done. Most days average between 10-12 hours. They are also very accommodating when it comes to scheduling. Roman and his team are incredibly kind. Roman truly cares about his work and making his clients happy. I think the hardest part of hardwood floor installation is picking a stain color. I can be indecisive with certain things, and Roman was extremely patient with me. He mixed more stain colors than I ever could have imagined, and really helped me throughout the process. He didn't get frustrated when I seemed to be all over the place with choosing a color! He stayed at our house for a few hours that night to make sure I was satisfied with a color. He let my husband and I take a few days to decide on the color, and didn't rush us at all. I absolutely LOVE the color we chose! All in all, my husband and I have NO complaints. We are 110% satisfied with Roman. Roman and his team exceeded our expectations and left us with a beautiful home. Doing this type of work is an investment, and Roman is the guy to help you make this improvement! Roman does amazing work! He is a true craftsman! His precision and attention to detail are top notch. ***If you are contemplating at all, stop your researching, pick up the phone and call Roman. I sifted through so many contractors to find him. The leg work is done. Hire Roman. You will not regret it! While searching for a flooring contractor on Angie's List, Houzz and Yelp websites, multiple positive reviews of The Flooring Ninja's work kept popping up, which convinced me to contact Roman for a quote. Roman responded promptly and I was very impressed with his professionalism. Roman was direct and patient while answering my many questions and concerns. His obvious knowledge and attention to detail was reassuring. I knew the minute we met Roman that he would be the right person to work in our home. We had originally planned to have prefinished hardwood flooring installed as opposed to unfinished flooring, in order to eliminate the mess of sanding and the odors of staining and sealing, as well as the disruption to our household. We discussed the options with Roman and he explained every step of the process, which includes dust-free sanding (and it truly is!), odor-free stain, and most importantly, the quality of the end result. We put our trust in him and chose unfinished red oak flooring, to be stained and sealed. Roman recommended that a new layer of subfloor should be installed in order to ensure a stable strong base for the new floor, as our subfloor was original dating back to 1962 and a bit compromised. Roman and his crew examined every square inch of the original subfloor and corrected squeaky boards prior to installing the layer of new subfloor. (Another contractor did not even recommend or address the subfloor in his quote). The flooring was installed in our living room, dining room and hall. 7 thresholds and 2 doorways were custom fitted to provide a smooth transition into each room. We ended up also having Roman install trim and baseboard throughout. Roman custom-mixed the perfect blend of stain for our flooring and it is beautiful. He created the exact shade I had in mind and I could not be happier. Roman and his crew were courteous, prompt, and respectful of our property. At the end of each day the work area was tidy and clean. My fears of a messy project were never realized, everything went smoothly. Roman is truly a craftsman! He was honest and open with us, and I will not hesitate to recommend him.

We are very pleased with the project! This is particularly notable since we did not plan or budget to replace our floor but had sudden damage to the (probably improperly installed and certainly moisture-damaged) layers of tile and laminate in the home. Our very first consultation with the Flooring Ninja went very well. He clearly is expert in installing beautiful hardwood floors, but was honest and upfront about the cost vs laminate options, and understanding this was something we couldn't presently afford, he immediately steered us toward a high-quality and lower cost flooring option that could stand up to a toddler and dog. He met me at the warehouse of his flooring supplier (LAS Hardwoods, who were also very kind and helpful) and helped me evaluate the color options. He was patient when it took me a couple days of running back and forth with sample slabs to decide on a color. Roman (the Flooring Ninja) is a meticulous and detail-oriented professional who is committed to his clients' happiness. After we had a frustrating time dealing with the maker of the laminate flooring (the color we selected was backordered and their shipment date uncertain), Roman had to delay our scheduled installation by a week. He completed the extensive demolition work and then stopped while we waited on material. Living without a floor for days wasn't pleasant, but what we agreed it was the best option given the circumstance and he did his best to tape off areas to limit the spread of dust. Then we were told by the flooring manufacturer that it might be another week before we could start because the shipment still hadn't arrived, but Roman and his supplier managed to get the laminate picked up and delivered to my house first thing on a Saturday morning so we could start work the following Monday. Because of the schedule shift, Roman was working on another job at the same time as ours. Even so, he and his workers (with our permission) came early some days, stayed late others, and asked to work on the weekend and holiday to get the job done in a timely fashion. The home has a fair number of corners to navigate as well as a curved wall and carpeted stairs, which they took their time to fit precisely. They were kind and friendly with my dog, who occasionally escaped the yard and upstairs areas to try to play with them. When they arrived while I was still struggling to get an angry and sleepy toddler out the door to daycare, they were conscientious, quiet, and unobtrusive. Communication was excellent throughout the process; I always received quick responses to text messages, and I was consulted regarding any changes in the installation plan. While I wish we could have gone with hardwood, Roman made the laminate floors look really fantastic, custom staining thresholds to the hard-to-match dark greyish brown and quarter-round shoe to match our kitchen honey oak cabinetry. I highly recommend The Flooring Ninja to anyone wanting fabulous floors installed and eagerly await the day I can have him back to do the upstairs!

Roman and his team did an outstanding job for us installing hardwood flooring on the first floor level of our home. The work included removal of a worn marble entry that was set in two inches of concrete, leveling uneven floors in three rooms, and refinishing stairs. It was decided during the course of installation that the existing baseboards and shoe were not worth saving, so Roman installed all new materials. When the work was done, Roman noticed an imperfection in a central area. Rather than trying to patch the flaw which might be noticeable, he rebuffed and applied a fourth coat of finish to the entire job. He is a true craftsman.

We are renovating our fireplace and needed to have some new flooring added to fill in the space where the new hearth extension is going. It was not an easy task to just add the new flooring. Roman did excellent work with this unique situation and the floor looks great!

Very happy with Roman's work. I chose him because he was the most thorough and concise of the contractors I contacted. He gave me a competitive cost estimate but his detail and knowledge of the project is why I picked him. Pleasure working with him would not hesitate to recommend to family or friends.

Roman and his staff did a wonderful job for removing/restoring hardwood floor due to changing a brand new PVC Pipe under the floor vent at the living room and changing from metal box to PVC Pipe at the dining room. They were very punctual. Definitely I recommend them if anything that you need regards to hardwood floor.

Although they were not the lowest cost bidder their reputation was exceptional. I could not be happier with my decision to hire the Flooring Ninja. They showed up daily on time and worked tirelessly well into the early evening. Cleanup everyday was perfect and the level of dust was much less then I had expected. The finished product is beautiful and workmanship is exceptional. The installation and look of the baseboard trim is way beyond what I was envisioning. Their finish carpentry skills are top notch! Do yourself a favor and hire them for your project. I cannot see you being disappointed.

Roman is very detailed from beginning to end. His quote broke down everything that needed to be done and was very comprehensive. We knew exactly what we were getting into. Once he and his team started the job, he was patient with my questions and kept me in the loop on progress since we moved out for the week. The job took the time he estimated and the outcome was beautiful. We are extremely pleased with their work and would definitely use them again. Everything is exactly what I had hoped!

Roman, the owner, is passionate about wood floors. He was not the cheapest quote we got but was within the range of quotes. We felt, however, he would do the best job. While we will never know for sure, but we are extremely happy with our choice. The project took the better part of three weeks and the crew would always show up when they said they would. The quote was detailed and accurate. They worked with our schedule and made sure the house was accessible during the majority of the process (we have two small children they were great with). The quality is incredible, especially the detail cuts on the edges of the wall, stairs, and transitions. We were always promptly apprised of issues and given several options to get around them. This was a major investment for us, but felt we got all we bargained for and more.

From the bid to completion, the job went very well. Roman demonstrated his knowledge and dedication to producing a quality product time and again. The job was difficult given a few obstacles that Roman designed solutions to, all while sticking to the contracted price. The finished floors are beautiful and we are very pleased.

He came out, was prompt, sized up the job, measured and a couple of days later emailed an estimate. It was $2500 more than three other estimates I had gotten. I texted him that it was too much and he said that I would have to pay for quality work.

Roman and his worker did an excellent job. I have a hundred-year old building with original hardwood flooring. The kitchen floor was a mess: very shabby. Flooring Ninja refinished it beautifully. Price was reasonable. Roman is very professional and also a nice guy with a good sense of humor. He explained things clearly up front, did the work promptly, took care to remove furniture out of the way for the work and then carefully put it back. Care was taken to seal off the room so dust did not get throughout the house. Very professional, hardworking, and nice people! I will gladly use Flooring Ninja for any future refinishing jobs, and I highly recommend the company to others.

We were very happy with the work done on our kitchen floor. Roman, the owner, was very professional, had good communication. He gave us good advice on how to proceed, gave excellent recommendations without being pushy. For example, the sub-floor in our over-100 year old kitchen was water-damaged and had many cut-outs from previous plumbing work, vents, etc. Roman pointed out the problems with this and recommended replacement for a better result, which we agreed with. The workers carefully covered doorways and affected areas with plastic so that dust was minimal. The bulk of the work took two full days, with an additional three days for the stain and finish (to allow drying time between application of the coats). Roman recommended that we wait 48 hours after the last coat of finish was on to start work on our cabinet installation in the kitchen, to be sure all was completely dried. The floor looks beautiful. Nice detail work was done on transition to existing hardwood floor in adjacent dining room and adding a stair "nosing" (edge) to top of basement stairs. We would definitely use this company again and highly recommend them.

I can't believe how beautiful the floor, bannisters, stairs look! Roman was very open to my questions, open to what I wanted and made it happen. My bannisters had been painted over 25 years ago and were UGLY. He sanded, stained and polished them. They are beautiful!

Roman was fantastic from start to finish. Very punctual and professional. Explained everything he proposed to do and gave me options on which top coat to use. He didn't complain about the fact that I was going to install reclaimed wood on the floor for him to refinish, but instead gave me some pointers. Worked around my schedule. The floor looks fantastic and matches our next room perfectly. I would highly recommend using him and wish he did the other floors in our house. I would happily us him again in future projects.

When the owner came to look at the job he explained to me that the contract stated no high rises. I live in a three story building and did not think that it was considered a "high rise". Because he stated that the building was in has terms high rise the contract had to be cancelled. I feel that his fine print should be more clear about that.

Roman and his team did an excellent job. After significant basement restoration work we needed to reinstall flooring in our basement (which is also a main living space) and I had a particular flooring I wanted installed that was child and environmentally friendly. The basement has very uneven floors including concrete patching, existing layers of tile and holes. They spent a significant amount of time patching and leveling the floor to ensure even installation, then the underlayment and flooring. The end result was excellent, particularly given what they were starting with. Roman paid great attention to detail, took their time, did quality work and left the basement broom clean. All in all a very positive experience. I will be contacting them when it is time to install hardwood in my children's rooms.
