Beautifully. Talked to Dale at the shop on a Saturday; he was very helpful, enabling us to get what we wanted at the best price. He diligently followed up with e-mails alerting us as to the toilets arrival and possible install dates. The following Thursday Al & Dale (other Dale) arrived promptly at 9:00A and quietly had the job finished at 11:30A. All work well (much better than the old junk we suffered with for years) and no mess was made. A few days later the completed invoice was mailed to us. Any bath/kitchen work you need, your best bet is to give them a call.
Description of Work: Installed three new toilets.

We have used Bath and Kitchen Works for a number of jobs (all before we joined Angie's List) based on recommendations from 2 of our friends and we couldn't be happier with the services we recieved. Dale and Al are great to work with. They are both very knowledgeable, professional and also very friendly. The first job they did for us was a partial remodel of our master bathroom (approx. cost $18,000). Based on the exceptional job done on our bathroom (there were a few minor hiccups but they were taken care of immediately and to our complete satisfaction) we hired them to paint our master bedroom and then power wash and stain our deck. When we wanted cabinets/counter tops installed in our laundry room which is quite large (Al commented that we had more cabinets than some smaller kitchens), it was a no-brainer who we turned to. Dale was great with helping me with design and Al (along with the other Dale) were terrific to work with during the install. What I really appreciated was that they did not start work until all the materials were ordered and recieved by them. When the materials arrived they worked full consecutive days until the job was done. This was particularly appreciated when they did our bathroom as we were only without it for about a week. And, at the end of each workday the work area was left clean! This is a small, local business and you certainly get a level of attention not available at larger businesses. Their attention to detail and willingness to help find high quality products within a stated budget is unmatched. Working with them made the process virtually stress free and I look foward to working with them again in the future!
Description of Work: Intalled cabinets and hardware in my large (approx 10 ft by 14 ft) laundry room.

Compared to other contractors I thought their quote was a little high. So I did not use them. I think they were very professional and their mannerisms were very good. The only thing was I just thought that the quote was too high compared to others. I thought they were very knowledgeable. He came on time.
Description of Work: The Bath & Kitchen Works came out, did some measurements and gave me a quote for doing granite counter tops for my U-shaped kitchen.

It was great working with Dale and Al through the entire process. They were helpful through the product selection process and flexible in sourcing materials. THeir contracts are clear, so no surprises during the project. There was a hiccup during construction, but it was due to a supplier problem. THey kept us informed through the short delay so we knew what was going on. The job was started when they said it would be and they were on the job site every work day until it was completed - no MIA with this company! There was no need to clean up after them either. Their estimate was slightly higher than the others we received, but there were no unexpected charges during or at the end of the project, as there have been with every other project we have hired out. We would highly recommend Kitchen and Bath Works if you are planning a project.

Went to see them regarding plans to remodel my bathroom. They insist on the customer coming to their shop first rather than going to the home for the initial visit. The shop was not even open when I arrived for my appointment. I waited around about 15 minutest and then I called the shop and heard their voicemail say they wouldn't be opening until much later in the day due to a dr. appointment. Ok....but why no phone call to reschedule? I left a message and started to drive home - the gentleman there returned my call after about 10 minutes. I agreed to go back although I received no apology but did get an explanation that the message was from the week before and he had forgotten to change it. We talked through what I was looking for - I was able to see the cabinets, mirrors, countertops. The designs and pricing were emailed to me within the timeframe promised. My tastes were larger than my budget and I explained this and that we needed to look at what we could do to come within my budget. They did work with me, but it was a painful process. I'm new at this and needed to not be the one coming up with ideas and suggestions. Also, the designs were only preliminary since they would not come out to measure until they had the contract. That would have cost a fee but you do get it back as a and quot;creditand quot;. I felt the delay in measuring to be a risk. I didn't want to waste time on designs when there may be and quot;hiddenand quot; things that would prevent the execution of the design. By and quot;hiddenand quot;, I mean things like - no we can't do this or that because of duct work or pipes or..... Overall, not a good choice for the budget conscious or the novice remodeler. We ended up choosing a contractor with a project manager I had a good rapport with and that was very willing to work with me on budget, design, and novice questions.
Description of Work: Went to their showroom and reviewed possible choices for the bathroom remodel I was looking for a bid on. They provided drawings and pricing within the timeframe promised. They were pretty expensive and were not as helpful at looking for ways to stay within my budget as I would have liked. I felt like I really had to push and come up with ideas myself.

I apologize for not meeting this member's expectations. As 3 person company, with my showroom assistant off work for the Christmas Holiday and undergoing some minor emergency dental surgery, I was unable to keep my posted showroom hours. Having missed this client by minutes, I called her inviting her back to the showroom. Our estimating process is clearly posted on Angie's List and our website. Budget estimates are offered free at the showroom. The purpose of the free estimate is to establish a realistic budget. I estimate a budget based on the customers input. In home consultations, taking measurements, an itemized estimates, and providing design advice are not offered free of charge. I request a nominal $90 measure deposit which is applied toward the purchase.

I'm so glad I went with Dale for my kitchen island! I didn't really know exactly what I wanted, just that I wanted an island. He came out an measured, then came up with a design. I didn't like that original design, but after a bit more import we settled on a design that I loved. He did a great job of listening to what I wanted, my concerns, and my price range to create a great island for my kitchen! I really liked all the options I had, from colors, types, counter tops, etc! Will contact them again next time I need any bath/kitchen work!

Dale was a big help in first narrowing down all the options, colors, styles, etc. to make my decisions manageable. Otherwise it would have been overwhelming. I visited the shop several times to pick out what I wanted, but was able to save money by keeping certain fixtures or purchasing new ones myself. Dale suggested both upgrades and downgrades. Once the job started, two men showed up daily until the work was finished. They arrived on time, and left the premises clean and neat each day. I quickly came to trust them enough to enter my home and work when I was not around. As always in a 50-year old house, surprises arise as things are ripped apart. I trusted their suggestions for alterations, changes, etc. - I never felt like I was being pushed into either something more expensive or something that was easier for the work crew. In some cases, the issues that came up required MORE work out of them, which they did because they wanted me to be happy with the job.
Description of Work: I hired Bath Works to remodel my bathroom in a 50+ year old house. Dale came for an estimate on the same day that I called. Once materials were available, work started, and was finished about 10 days later. They replaced: bathtub, tile surrounding bathtub and on the walls, vanity, floor tile, ceiling lighting. (I kept the toilet, which was new). They installed: ceiling fan. They prepped: the wall above the tile (tore down wallpaper and patched the walls)

On initial delivery of products we found some mistakes were made with products. Correct products were ordered and work was performed to satisfaction. Any small problems were addressed and corrected to satisfaction. After all, ordering for 3 bathrooms is a lot of products. We had some caulk issues that were corrected and are very happy overall with work performed and products. Any and all complaints and problems were corrected in a timely fashion to our satisfaction. Not once were our needs ignored. We were very happy to have Al and Dale remodel our very outdated bathrooms. Great company to deal with.
Description of Work: Bathrooms were very outdated and needed to be remodeled. Dale the G.M. took our order at shop after Al the owner measured in our home. There was a fee to measure but was deducted upon hire. We went to showroom to see products first hand. Very nice quality. We made our choices and waited for service opening. We were not keen on not having a start and finish date. Dale explained that the work needs to be done correctly and could not commit to a start date. We agreed after thorough explanation that the workers do not want to rush. Al and Dale, (not G.M.) showed up as promised everyday til completion of work. Floors, tile, toilets, paint, trim, tub, shower stall with pan and faucet fixtures and lights. Cabinets with vanity top and wall cabinets. New bathroom fans and vent were installed. Very nice not to have a steamy bathroom. Communication between us was very good. Phone calls or emails were always returned.

We really liked them. We had some little hiccups and everything, but they were quick to adjust them. We've done a ton of work around our house and they were the first contractors to show up everyday on time, which really is great. Everyday they said that they would be here at 8 o'clock, and at 8 o'clock every single day for two weeks they rang our door bell. That's great. That was one thing that we really liked about them. We really enjoyed them. They were probably a little pricey but it was worth it. We think that we've spent $13000 to $14000. They weren't the cheapest but they were a local business and we kind of liked that. They did a really good job. We never had an issue and they addressed everything. They felt that we are doing a lot for the amount of money that we are spending. They only had one person working and so when the phone rang we had to stop or if someone came in, we had to stop and that sort of thing. They are a local business and so they can't have three people on staff instead of one person. That was the only thing that we wished was a little different, but we understand that. My parents are going to use them and we will use their services again in the future. They parked the areas that they were walking on and everything too before they even started. They did do a lot of nice things. They parked two staircases going up before they even worked and they vacuumed that up everyday. They did do a lot of extras.
Description of Work: We used The Bath & Kitchen Works. They redid our bathroom. We actually just kind of wrapped everything up. The job was done within two weeks and that was probably about a month or two ago. We had little fixes and it was like a little punch list, and that was kind of wrapped up just within the last week.

A frozen pipe between the two bathrooms in our ranch house caused flooding in the basement. We called Bath and Kitchen Works (then just Bath Works) because of work they had done in my brother's house that he thought was outstanding. They were at our home on schedule to inspect, measure and prepare an estimate for the scope of the work. We went to the store in Antioch and selected our materials, with the help of the designer. Some orders were delayed, but the work began on time and took a reasonable amount of time to complete. The quality of materials was as expected, and the results were as expected. What we did not expect was the outstanding quality of the workmanship and the workers themselves. They took ownership of the job, were polite and considerate in planning their work around two elderly people, and went above and beyond to repair some additional things that came up, especially the outdoor faucets so the pipe would not freeze again! We felt very well cared for, and had full confidence in the Bath and Kitchen Works staff. Note: The work was done several years ago, and I sold the house earlier this year. Everyone who saw the work thought that the renovations/updates had JUST been done recently. I would say we chose well in the Bath and Kitchen Works.
Description of Work: Bath and Kitchen Works handled the result of a pipe bursting between two bathrooms and flooding both. Replaced floors in two baths, tiled walls (3ft) in one bath, replaced vanity in one bath, replaced faucet for kitchen sink. Replaced drop ceiling in basement that was ruined by water. Replaced outdoor faucets. Repaired exterior door.

We definitely got value. They replaced the floor. The fixed all of the plumbing, not just the outside faucet that had frozen. They replaced the drop ceiling in the basement. They replaced light covers and fixtures where needed. They did the extra things we wanted. We wanted nicer quality flooring. They put up grab bars and three feet of tiling in one bathroom. The tile and floor work are outstanding. They do quality work.
Description of Work: We had a pipe freeze and then break in-between two of our first floor bathrooms. It ruined the floors in both bathrooms. It made a mess of the carpet in the hall and ruined the drop ceiling in our basement. They came in and did everything that they agreed to do and more.

We wanted to update our main bath and called Bath Works since we had used them 15 years ago. They were very helpful from start to finish, working with us to keep the cost down and advising us as to types of tile and fixtures. Dale is very knowledgable and knew what would and would not work in our small bathroom. Mike, the installer, was excellent. He was extremely professional - a perfectionist - and even called us a few days after the project was completed to make sure everything was working properly. He was able to make a heat register work better than it had before, and worked with us to redesign a wall tile pattern when the first design wouldn't fit. I definitely would recommend Bath Works in Antioch and would use them again.

The project was scheduled for 6 days. Work began 1 day late due to a snow storm which shut down all schools and many businesses. Despite the delay the project was completed on time. Whenever a problem arose due to pipes needing to be rerouted, I was informed and a plan of action was suggested. Tarps were laid on walk areas from the garage to the bathrooms every morning. Clean-up was done every evening before workers left the site. Installation of all components was perfectly done. Caulking of seams, shower door, and shower base was beautifully done.
Description of Work: A standard porcelain/cast iron tub was replaced with a walk-in show. Ceramic tile was removed and replaced with shower wall panels. One vanity top was replaced with matching material of wall panels. Plumbing was improved to current standards. New floor tile was installed. Faucet and shower head in 2nd shower backing up to the first shower was upgraded.
