I was very impressed with their mason ANDY , who did a excellent job.from tear down to completion. Their price was very competitive and included a stainless steel liner. They also cleaned up all the debris and old bricks and I am very happy with the finished product

I thought their estimate was really high. One option was for $1450.00, another option was for $1950.00, and I was able to get it done for less than half of that. The two different options were for things that I didn't need. Their responsiveness was good, it was fine.

Went well. They inspected 2 fireplaces in the home and gave recommendation on maintenance.

Excellent. We have an older home (100 years), with a wood-burning fireplace in our living room that was not useable due to an improperly done steel liner. It previously had a damaged clay tile liner, which had been re-lined previously with an undersized steel liner. This created draft issues since the steel liner was too small for the fireplace (only 6''). Even worse, the liner did not go completely down to the firebox, for unclear reasons -- there is an angle at the bottom and it seems the prior lining stopped short, probably due to lack of anticipating the turn or skill to manage a more complicated lining vs. a straight flue. Effectively the bottom part of the chimney was unlined, and the liner installed is too small. Fixing this required removing the old liner (which was insulated/mortared in - meaning a lot of breaking up mortar to get it out), removing the old clay tile liners by breaking them up, and then installing a new properly sized 9'' liner. Steve Pratt (owner) gave us an prompt and honest estimate - he came out the next day after I called, on a Saturday. He was very thorough and explained our 3 options -- 1) replace liner and leave as wood burning fireplace, 2) replace liner and add gas logs, or 3) leave chimney as-is and put in a gas insert, which wouldn't require the complicated chimney work since the smaller intake/exhaust liners for this would fit in our existing liner. He was very thorough, and also checked our other fireplace upstairs, and the flue that vents our boiler, and noted some issues with these that we will address at a later time (which neither of the other chimney companies looked at, since we didn't ask -- Steve was thorough and wanted to check all 3 since he was there -- and furthermore didn't even charge for the inspection). We chose the "right" fix - replace the liner. We also added gas logs since easier for use vs. wood. Pratt's price was better than their competitors, and they are CSIA certified and felt confident in their skills to do the proper fix. Keep in mind, one of the companies we asked (also CSIA certified and well reviewed on Angie's list) would not even take on this job because they thought it was too complex - they recommended Pratt or a well-known competitor. Pratt arrived on-time and was very professional and thorough throughout the repairs. They moved furniture out of the way, put down drop clothes and a HEPA vacuum to prevent dust from spreading around the house. All of the workers were friendly and professional. The job ended up being more complicated than expected, given how much mortar was used to insulate in the old liner. They had to remove parts of the liner piecemeal since it was so cemented in. I think it is safe to say this may have been one of the most difficult they had ever tried to remove. Nonetheless, they got it out. They did have to cut 2 small holes in the chimney brick to access certain parts (we had discussed this as a possibility initially). The workers stayed pretty late that day to finish the job - until about 8pm, and actually had extra guys come to help since it was complicated. They had to come back a 2nd day to finish the chimney cap and gas logs, which was understandable given how long it took. They went the extra mile and even painted the bricks they put back in to match the rest of the painted chimney, and also painted our upstairs chimney to make it look better while we wait to decide about fixing it. The fireplace now works great and we are very happy with the gas log set. There are now no draft issues with the properly sized liner, and the energy-efficient damper is better than what we had before. If needed when we sell the house, future owners could convert back to wood-burning if we needed by simply removing the logs. The old broken chimney is fixed! Overall we couldn't be happier with the service and professionalism of Pratt. They did the job right, even though it was more complex, didn't add on any extra charges because of this, and at a better price that competitors. Pratt Chimney is an outstanding company. I would highly recommend them for any chimney work, even complex jobs. Thanks again for the great work. 2 holes had to be cut in the masonry of the chimney to get proper access to remove the old liner. e masonry chimney had previously been re-lined, but not done properly. This made the job somewhat complex - the existing undersized liner had to be removed, and a new one installed. We had several quotes from 3 companies. One said too complex to do, so would not do the work. Pratt and another competitor both recommended similar fix - removal of the old

Fantastic. I have a large wood burning fireplace that was due for service. Chris created a video of the chimney from top to bottom that clearly indicated how bad it actually was. It was determined that it would be ultimately be much cheaper to install a gas insert than completely repair. Being a country boy, all my life I've had a wood burning fireplace and enjoyed the smell & general 'ambiance" that it provided, but now I don't miss it a bit. Most importantly, my gas bill is noticeably lower. Chris even stopped by several weeks later just to make sure everything was running smoothly. Best customer service I've experienced in quite a while. Highly recommend!!

New flue liners were installed and extensive reconstruction of the masonry associated with the firebox was undertaken. The work seems to have been done well, and the workmen were respectful of our home.

On time, serviced what we asked for, provided information on maintaining to save costs and even offered to return at no charge to put in some replacement parts we ordered on line! Cleaned before during and after work was completed...simply the BEST!

After calling several Chimney Cleaning businesses I decided to go with Pratt's Chimney. Even though they weren't the cheapest on my list they weren't the most expensive, and I was looking for a certified company so I could make sure the work I had done was done the right way. I was pleasantly surprised with how professional and easy to work with they were, from the office staff to their technicians. They made sure I understood what was being done to my chimney, and answered all of my questions. I was very impressed with their company and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to receive quality work, and exemplary customer service.

We hired Pratt's to fix a chimney for one of our rental properties. Everything went great from the guy who gave us the estimate to the crew that did the repair. The owner (Steve Pratt) was actually helping do the work. The guys were very friendly and took great care to keep everything clean. They even took off their shoes without being asked. I will be using them for any future needs and will not hesitate to refer them to my friends. Thanks guys!!! (And by the way of the three bid we received they were substantially more affordable).

After the repairman arrived, instead of chimney cleanings, I was informed that both chimneys needed to be relined. An estimate was provided and I was charged $220 for a "safety inspection". When the repairman asked how I found this company, I told him AngiesList. He told me I should have mentioned that fact on the initial contact as it would have been cheaper. I understand that the scope of work changed after arrival but charging me for what in reality was a repair estimate means I am not interested in your services any further. The estimates I received from the other chimney companies were no charge and they did the exact same thing as Pratts.

Professional from start to finish. Steve was punctual for estimate and installation. He told us what needed to be done without overselling services. I was concerned about dirt everywhere, but it was done efficiently and neatly - no mess. There was also follow-up to be sure that we were pleased with the results. We'd definitely use Pratt's again.

The chimney cap was leaking. They replaces with a new one. They were great to work with. Knowledgeable and on time. I wish I could only find other contractors that are as good as this company was.

Pratts Professional Chimney Service was easy to work with. Friendly. Came out measured the chimney. Scheduled the installation but due to bad weather rescheduled. Came out replaced old Chimney chase, cleaned up you would never know they were there other that to see the new Chimney chase.. I would recommend Pratts Professional Chimney Service.

This guy was great! Really nice and professional. cleaned the chimney and the entire fireplace. We just moved into the house and learned that the previous owners actually extended out the original fire place. we had asked him about a new chimney door as the one that was on the fireplace was broken, he explained how easy it was to fix and also recommended someone in the area that would be able to help if we didn't want to do it ourselves. will definitely use the service moving forward!

They were prompt and very courteous. Explained everything that was being done to my satisfaction. I've never had a fireplace before so it was a learning experience and they were very informative. Can't wait to tell my neighbors.

Update on 10/25/2015. Steve Pratt, the owner of the company, came over on a Sunday and gave a valid explanation on the delay in responding. He immediately took care of our damper problem and did an excellent job in checking on what was needed to stop the birds from nesting in the chimney. He put through the order for a new hood and did a wonderful job in temporarily cleaning out the debris from the nesting which could have started a fire.

Very trustworhy as to the work that needed to done. Highly recommend.

Steve, the owner, came out and gave me an estimate. I scheduled the work based on the estimate. The work was completed on the date scheduled. The estimate and the actual work were done according to the schedule we had agreed on. The work performed looks better than I had expected.

Everything went very well. I was impressed that it was done in the pouring rain. I would have understood a reschedule. The cap looks great!

These guys are FANTASTIC. Steve Pratt (the owner) came out himself, did the work himself, and charged us only about one-fifth of what other A-rated chimney services on Angie's List charge (plus he educated us on why a lot of what the other guys were suggesting were just garbage upsells that were totally unnecessary). Great work! Took care of our leaks and we now have the best-looking chimney on the block! Amazing work at an unbeatable price. Ethical, honorable, veteran-owned business. We'll use again!
