Excellent!

The work was perfect. The cracks were sealed and blended, The edging was perfect and neat. The coating was evenly applied. The driveway is 20 years old but looked fresh and new after the work was done.

It was excellent.

I was hoping it would last longer than a year, and it's looking like they'll have to do it again. I don't have a specific compliant, just a little disappointed that it hasn't lasted longer. Because it's not lasting them, I'm going to say price is B. They send me an estimate every year, so that indicates to me that they intend on having to do it every year.

Great! Would highly recommend! This is the second year I have used Mike's and they do a fantastic job. Owner is responsive and takes pride in quality and a job well done. We will use them again next year!

I got 3 quotes for this job. My Association decided to use Mike's. I was uncomfortable using him because when we met, I physically showed him our 4 sidewalks and how a previous contractor splashed the sidewalks after verbally telling us they would not. (These sidewalks have a special concrete brick pattern and splashes are obvious.) I asked Mike if he would use painter's tape across the area that connects to the driveways. It is about 24' wide. He said his and quot;guys are professionals who would never get stuff on those areasand quot;. I insisted he do the tape (that's what the owner's wanted) and he never indicated they and quot;wouldn'tand quot;. So, I emailed him to say we would accept the contract ONLY if he agreed to tape it off. We got the contract, his prep guys showed up today and did not do the taping though I mentioned it to his guys. They said and quot;Oh, our guys are very professional and would never get the materials on the sidewalkand quot;. I mentioned we had an agreement on this. They left without doing it. I called Mike and got his voice mail, of course. He called back and we had the same conversation over and over again with him insisting and quot;he doesn't do that and didn't agree to it.and quot; (He said he pulled the contract and it did not state taping off the area. The president of our Association had the contract so I could not review it to push the issue. After getting 3 quotes for this, painting and some roof work, I did not remember the email where I stated the contract would be accepted under the condition of being taped off. I discovered that later.) Had Mike simply taped all 4 small sidewalks off, he would have had our work every other year for eternity. It took me 2 min to do the taping of 2 units and the same for a neighbor to do the two units on the other side. We needed the assurance this would be done as people are not always home to do it ourselves and it was accidental that my neighbor and I were home today. Mike lost us by being inflexible, manipulative and dishonest. I/We will NEVER use Mike's Sealcoating again and recommend no one ever use this service. #Dishonest.

Mike stopped by to review the condition of the driveway - his company had sealcoated it several years earlier for the prior owners. He confirmed price, and small add-on for crack sealing. It seemed fair, so we scheduled the job. We were not there when the job was performed, but were very happy with the results. Asphalt had weeds growing over many edges, and the company edged to remove those. Crack sealing was very good. The coating was very consistent, and not 'thin' like we've seen other companies do over the years - it was a good coating. Job well done, we'll use this company again!

We didn't see anyone by 5 pm. I called Mike on his cell phone. He didn't know where the driver for our job was. We told him we had expected to have the driver here and the job done "late afternoon as agreed so we could see how the job looked. Mike said the driver was still on a job in Northbrook and very busy. Apparently, Mike thinks that's an excuse. Mike then said the job would be donebetween 7 and 8 pm. That's Mike's version of "late afternoon."Mike did not bother to check on his driver and give us the courtesy of a call to tell us the driver wasn't going to be here until almost dark. We had to chase after him to get this information. We immediately canceled the job. We had cleared our driveway and parked on the street with police permission. We were here waiting for his service to show up. The price ($75) was right but courtesy and customer service isn't a priority with Mike. We will not be calling him again.
