DUKE OF DOORS

The replacement went excellent. My garage door torsion spring cracked the night of January 14th. I sent Duke an e-mail to schedule an appointment to replace the spring that night and within an hour he called me back. Duke arrived the next morning and replaced the springs in less than an hour, saving me a lot of inconvenience. Great job! Thanks again!

Duke of Doors was very professional, and was able to get our garage door replaced quickly during a holiday season. Their pricing was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to call them for other work.

They arrived a little early, but called to make sure it was all right to do so. The removed the old opener and installed the new one in less than an hour. they also performed maintenance on the door along with the other garage door in that garage. They sweep up all the left over debris. It was a quick, clean professional job.

What stands out is their customer service.

Spring broke over the weekend, I called Monday morning and Duke scheduled me for the afternoon. Service was quick and professional, the door is quieter and working better than before. Very happy with Duke and the work performed, I will definitely use him in the future! Also, Duke of Doors is an awesome business name!

One fine workday evening, we came home to realize that the garage door didn't want to close. It wanted to bounce and stay open. Seeing this happen in our previous home, I cleaned the sensors and checked the tension and crossed my fingers. It didn't work and the chain came off the gear. After reattaching the chain - it kept making grinding sounds as if it wanted to pull off of the ceiling and the door still didn't close. Understanding where my abilities begin and end - I closed the garage door manually and went to Angie's list to find a garage door expert. Duke of Doors has a lot of great reviews and for great reason. I called Duke on a whim at about 630p and he answered and quickly had an idea of what was broken and that, sadly, I'd most likely need a new garage door opener. We made the appointment for a time that was convenient for me (which was appreciated). Duke and his crew member arrived on time and the whole process took about an hour. They walked me through everything they needed to do and gave options along the way. I opted for a chain-drive garage door opener with 2 lights, an extra garage door opener and a new keypad. He gave me the option of something with a belt drive or a single light but noise wasn't a factor - but the garage opening successfully was. They were both very courteous, prompt and tidy. Having to replace all of those things wasn't the most affordable part of my day, but it paid to have someone who knew what they were doing and have them do it right the first time. We know who we'll be calling in the future when the garage needs attention.

Duke is very professional, always on time for each appointment and offers all detail of the job. Duke made the decision easy and the work was done on time. We are very happy with our new garage doors, they look great.

Contacted this provider Monday morning after my garage door opener failed Sunday. They could have been out Monday afternon, however, I was not home so they came out Tuesday afternoon. I was hoping the opener just needed an adjustment, however, I was showed the damage caused by a failed motor bearing and, it being 16 years old, I can't say I'm surprised by the need for a new opener. They finished the job in about an hour and all is good. I would use this provider again without hesitation.

The owner is the one who came out and did the work and it was good. Their price is fine.

I am very picky with what providers I use and I do my research on Angie's List. My experience with Duke of Doors was wonderful. They fit me in the same week I called, were not only on time but called me and said they could come earlier if I wanted. They were very friendly and professional. I felt very comfortable with them doing the work because it was very obvious they knew what they were doing. They even took the time to answer some questions I had about my garage that had nothing with the garage door. They were very thorough with taking me through all the info I needed to know about my new garage door opener. Not only do I recommend Duke of Doors, I will definitely be giving them a call next summer to have them replace my old garage door with a high quality new one.

Working with Duke of Doors was a great experience. Very good communication (calls returned promptly, called to give me ETA). Pricing was very competitive, which allowed me to get a windowed door for less than a plain door elsewhere. Work scheduled and completed as scheduled. In fact, they accommodated that we needed them to come a little earlier. Duke was courteous, professional, very knowledgeable, and easy to work with. No pressure. He also told me about energy credits that I had not even thought about. Perceived the need for an extra-wide trim -- someone else might not have thought of that. And We were happy to buy a door that was made here in Illinois. Would definitely recommend Duke of Doors and will use them again when we need service.

I just purchased a new home and the garage doors needs to be replaced. I contacted several persons via angie's list. Duke is the only one who shows up and meet me in person for the estimation. All the other guys just drop by and leave a quote in the front door. During the estimation, I was not sure whether I shall replace the opener. My garage door openers were old but he said I could keep it going and do not need to replace them. I did finally replace them because I found that one of my neighbor can trigger the garage door open. The price he quoted is also competitive. Duke is straight forward in the pricing. He brought up all of the cost involved before we sign the contract. Before the installation, he explains everything to me as what will be done and what material will be supplied. This helps me to understand what involves with the job and his knowledge about garage doors. On the installation date, he completed the job in 4 to 5 hours. He told me that there is one section of the door panel has a crease. He tried to paint over but didn't work out. He told me that he will come back to replace the whole session of that door panel. Also, he didn't take any money that date. After a week, he came back as promised and replace that session. Everything looks great. Lastly, Duke is very good at communication and answers your phone call promptly. I would recommend Duke to any of my friends who want to install a new garage door.

Total Fail. I set up an appointment to have three doors tuned up and have new seals put on one week prior to the service date. He seemed nice enough and willing to do the job. I called him one hour before he was due since I had not heard from him. He then tells me that he is not coming due to the weather which makes no sense he is working in the garage. He made no attempt to come or even re schedule and told me that even though I took the time off to meet him he would not make it cause of a kids baseball game. FAIL. Garage doors guys are a dime a dozen. I will use one that wants the business and respects Angie Customers

Found Duke of Doors at the top of my local Angie's list. (There is reason he is there...) He came out on Sat. evening, said it was not much more expensive than waiting until Monday, installed two new springs, recalibrated the opener, and also changes out all my rollers (as they were all loose), and tighten up the whole door. This, for ssme money as a my renters in Gurnee who used someone else, to come out on a weekday, and only change the springs. very nice guy, very professional, outstanding service, at a very fair price.....

I absolutely admire Duke and his operation: punctual, uber polite, kind, professional, etc. They originally came to just fix my dead garage door openers of 3 yrs?.got one working, the other had to be replaced. Ended up getting BEAUTIFUL new doors with glass upper accent as well (no, they didn't strong arm me at all?.it was me who put the question out there re: replacing the both doors :) ?.Gorgeous doors. The day the new doors were put in, they cleaned up any mess/materials involved. IN FACT, THEY SWEPT MY GARAGE!! Are you kidding me? I felt like I was in the "Full service" lane of the old gas stations! Seriously, I was stunned. I totally trust them. Very frank about costs involved, options available to make it less painful, etc. old Thanks Duke! May your company prosper

The doors look just like my white wood doors and look fantastic. I asked Duke numerous questions about possible door models and appreciated his thoroughness and prompt responses.

It went very well. They came that very same day.They suggested changing that spring and the spring on the second door of the garage since they were both of the same age. They offered to perform additional maintenance on the doors for a very small additional price. They replaced the springs and performed the maintenance in about one hour. The doors have never worked so well. I will definitely call this company again for garage door work.

Duke is professional, courteous, fair and honest. I thought I had a broken spring which would have cost more than the work Duke ended up having to do. He could have taken advantage of my ignorance but didn't. I appreciate that honesty very much. I plan to replace my door in the fall and I will be calling Duke to do the job.

Duke came the same day of my call and got to work right away. I had broken my door and his repairs put it in better condition than before I broke it. Tight on the ground and up top. Serviced my other door that was crooked from a self repair and it too is better than ever.

Spring of our garage door broke Saturday afternoon. Called Duke, agreed a price over the phone and he showed up within the time frame he indicated, yes, still Saturday evening at 8pm he came out and fixed the springs, looked the entire door over, replaced some srews and oiled the rolls. Very courteous, fast and professional. Work was done at the agreed price, no surprises. Suggested to do annual maintenance, but did not push to sell. He left very happy new customers and we know who in future to call again.

He showed up on time and was very friendly, even to my three year old son who had tons of questions. He repaired the door and completed the maintenance. He explained all of the work to me and provided a suggested maintenance schedule. He also showed me several things to look for so I could maintain the door on my own if I wanted to. I also asked him about installing remote access key pads and he suggested that it would be easiest and most cost effective to purchase them elsewhere. I thought this was very helpful and really was a good indicator of his honesty--he wasn't just trying to get the sale. I will definitely be calling him back for maintenance and I would recommend him to anyone needing garage door maintenance or replacement.
