It was the easiest and best experience we have had working on our home! Duke is personable, timely, efficient and priced fairly. From first contact to installation, it was less than a week! He was at our home on 12/23/2008 installing the new door during a snow storm to make certain it was up for my husband for Christmas. He took away all shipping materials and the old door. We are more than satisfied and would recommend him highly to anyone looking for a new garage door! He even hooked up our garage door opener even though we hadn't purchased it from him.

The job went very well. The service man was on time, knew what to do and did it. He explained to me what he was doing and why. The job was finished in a timely manner and within the cost quoted.

After researching and talking with several garage door companies, we chose Duke of doors for many reasons. Firstly he was very pleasant to deal with...very honest, upfront, and not pushy. We liked the fact that he was a small business owner, and eager to please. We also liked the quality of his product as well as the options available. Bottom line, we got a beautiful new garage door with windows at a reasonable price, and the whole project was pleasant and hassle free! We highly recommend him.

Overall, we are so pleased! We believe we got a great price, and an excellent installation. I selected this company after calling through the phone book. I spoke with ten companies, and selected Duke of Doors because I was so impressed with the owner's ("Duke's") phone manner. I thought he was polite and patient. He took the time to explain my options on the phone, and gave me a quote over the phone. I found him to be thorough and an upstanding guy. We first hired him to replace our garage door opener, and then chose him again when we needed to replace the door.

Duke, the owner, called back promptly. He showed up when he said he would for the estimate. We didn't need a fancy door and he didn't try to push me into one. We got an uninsulated door with new track for $800, which I believe is a fair price. We didn't need to pay up front. We scheduled the installation for one week later. Duke, the owner, came by himself and dismantled the old door, installed the new door and cleaned up by himself. He was efficient, tidy, polite, reasonably priced, and straightforward. I would definitely use him again.

The spring and belt unsnapped from our opener. I first called the subcontractor (a company through the hardware store) who originally installed the opener (located about 45 minutes from us). They weren't able to come for several days, and the initial charge would be $135. Thinking I could do better, I found Duke of Doors in our local Antioch phone book. Duke was willing to come that same evening, but I had another appointment so we scheduled for the next morning. Fortunately, I still had the original installation booklet and we'd found the spring on the driveway. Duke said, by looking at the spring, the opener had been installed incorrectly. He checked the moving parts and aligned and adjusted as necessary. He also recommended white lithium grease for the garage door joints, saying it would both make the door motion quieter and extend the life of the opener. He also noticed that our builder had "cheaped out" and installed an uninsulated door. He recommended an insulating kit available at any home store, and as we had also discussed finishing the garage interior, recommended a local workman. I was very happy with all aspects of the job, and when the day comes that we need to replace our garage door, we will definitely call Duke of Doors.
