They came and do the job and put the stuff away. It was so quick. Excellent job! I would recommend them.

They completely hacked apart the trees they trimmed. One was irreparable. They refused to discount the already steep price, their solution was to fertilize and see if it was better next year. HIGHLY DISCOURAGE FROM HIRING

Very Prompt Estimate, Good Price Prompt Service with Tree removal and stump removal.

When I spoke to the representative, Priscilla, I had asked her for the best possible deal, because I've used them several times in the past. She said that they were going to give me the same price they gave me last year, which was $650. When the estimator got to my house, she showed me that the estimate they gave me last year was actually $585 if I had accepted the price before April 15th. I had asked them to honor that price and she said that they couldn't. I contacted the office again and spoke to Priscilla, and asked to speak to the owner. I wanted them to honor the previous price for me. She said she would ask the owner and let me know. She never got back to me so I called her this morning and she said that they had talked to the estimator and that because the bushes had grown from last year that they were going to charge me $650. However, they had already given me that price before the estimator had even come out to look at the bushes. My complaint is that I just don't understand why I am being treated this way after being a repeat customer. I've been happy with their service, they do A-rated work, I was just not happy with the way I was treated today as a repeat customer.

After services were done the power was still out for another 5 hours. They didnt communicate how long we could be without power or concerned themselves with contacting Comed so the service could be reconnected.

Very responsive and professional quoting the project. Yet fell short thereafter. Little to no advance scheduling to remove the tree. They called the day before and the day of service to remove tree. Then they just showed up a week later to grind the stump. Did NOT call JULIE or us in advance. They did a great job removing the tree, yet created a significant mess grinding the stump. So we asked if they could remove and clean up debris. They responded noting that was not part of contract (true) but they’d do it for another $130. Opted against it because they were unpleasant. Plus it stung that they did a side job for a neighbor for only $50 (which was incidentally less than what we paid for the same service).

We had to remove our once beautiful mature ash tree due to the emerald ash borer. Smitty’s provided the best estimate and even came back out to discuss the job and receive contractual authorization from our neighbor. (Access to our neighbor’s yard was required to complete the removal.) The crew was punctual, professional and efficient. This was a huge job, but Smitty’s handled it like it was nothing! They took care of everything for us, i.e., scheduling the power shut-off and restoration with ComEd. They came back within a week to grind the stump; also done with great efficiency! We were very pleased with them and would hire them again!

The fungicide injections were performed as requested, although they did attempt to sell a deep root fertilization which I ultimately declined. However, they never even came back and removed the applicators (I actually did this myself and still have the applicators). As for the tree trimming I requested to be present because I was concerned about damage to neighboring trees. Ultimately I had to stop the crew because the cut some live branches, which was unfortunate given they worked less than an hour and billed $600 for the trim. They also billed $200+ for the fungicide injection. Ultimately it seemed like a waste of money. Did not find the management, ownership, employees, easy to work with, schedule or communicate with.

The 5 man crew was terrific -- they were polite, professional, efficient and speedy. All the work was done in less than 1 hr. Debris was raked and all branches were taken to a "chipper". My patio furniture (which I had moved) was even put back where it belonged. A real pleasure to have a company deliver on expectations and beyond.

The workers did an excellent job. The trees were really trimmed well. The clean up was spectacular! This is the first time I have used this company. I will use them again. I will also recommend them.

The River Birch was hand trimmed which went very well. However, the Japanese Maple was sheared. I would have preferred hand trimming.

Great. The workers were professional and polite. They brought two trucks to insure the entire job would be done well and they had enough men to finish in a timely manner. Then, they cleaned up quite well before they left.

Smittys did such a great job. They were very professional and did great removing the tree. The landscaping turned out great as well-it looks great and have gotten many compliments on it. I would use them again!

Work was professionally done. One minor issue was that we initially did not see surface roots that also needed removal, nor was it verbally pointed out. They did return to remove the roots for an additional fee.

We had a apple tree removed from our backyard. They were efficient and did a great job. They left the yard spotless after the tree was removed. We have used them before and will use them again. They came back a week later to remove the stump.

It always goes very well. If you need a special service they are prompt with an estimate and the estimate is most reasonable.

I`m waiting for a price on them for replacing a tree. He has to check on his tree farm for availability.

They were very professional. They did a very good job and they cleaned everything else so it was very well done. I would recommend them. They are triple “A.” Their pricing was very reasonable.

workers showed up for a total of 2.5 hours to do a job that other companies quoted would take 8-10 hours. they missed major dead limbs overhanging our driveway and deck. we asked the owner to come out and review the incomplete work. when she arrived and was shown what her crew missed (which was clearly marked on the diagram she drew up), she became defensive and rude. she said that the little circles she drew on the diagram of our property did not indicate all the work they would do, but were just there for reference - you would think the buildings she drew in would be more useful to reference. CAUTION: make sure she stipulates which "circles" will be addressed on her diagram before starting work!

As a favor to my neighbor, I allowed my yard to be used so that two large trees could be removed which were touching their house. This company was extremely careful with their truck, chain saw and other equipment. Unfortunately, they seem to be not the least bit concerned about other peoples property. They cut my electrical wires and removed my gate without permission. The gate was broken due to excessive hammering to get it off. I asked them to cut the trunk of the tree into small sections for the sake of safety. They ignored my request and allowed two 18 foot sections of tree trunk to fall on my property, just missing one of their workmen. As a result, several sections of my sidewalk were severely damaged, brick pavers were dislodged, grass ruined with deep holes and large sections of flowers and landscaping destroyed. By my estimation there was about $1200 worth of damage to my property. I had hoped that they would have sent contractors to professionally repair the damage, however they refused. Instead they sent their own people out without adequate tools, supplies or expertise. The work was done incorrectly, was of poor quality and was quite inferior! I had to redo most of the work and next year I will hire contractors to lay new sidewalk to replace the patch job they did. There are better company's out there and no one should have to settle for this kind of treatment!
