We have used Smitty's several times throughout 2011 and have been pleased with the service every time. They are very quick to respond to phone calls, you don't have to be home for the quote or the work being done, and the price is decent. We couldn't be happier.

They have been providing service every two years since 1992. I am very satisfied with their service. They removed all debris and cleaned up after they were done. They are responsive and upfront/

We hired Smitty's Tree and Arbor Service to trim our trees, they were reasonably priced and they were prompt at getting the job done. They cleaned the yard and they were professional there rates were fair. I would hire them again and I recommend them

Brought the right equipment, on time, climbed one tree, and did a good job of trimming, without any wire damage. Left limbs for firewood, as agreed.

The process was very satisfying from beginning to end. There were four workers who were very efficient. They followed the estmator's diagram of which branches to trim. I added one large branch at the end, which I also paid for. They did everything as expected, were quick and professional and safety conscious as well. They were not ready to leave until I was satisfied.

They came out quickly and gave me several choices for what I was trying to do. They came a bit professionally. I would consider using them in the future.

My interaction with them was fine, and their quality was good. They did what they were supposed to do. Their customer service and professionalism were fine. Everything was nice. I did not have any problems with them. The price was okay. I probably would use them again in the future.

The estimator came out right away the same day I called, 9/2, and the work was done on 9/9. The work was done satisfactorily, and the cleanup was good.

They came out exactly when they said. All work was done to our agreed specs. (They were very careful not to let any limbs fall on my flowers or garden objects. As they were working, I decided since they were doing such a good job, I asked if they would remove another very large limb for me. They did so, and back yard was raked and all was put in a chipper. No mess for me to clean up.

It was really good. They worked very fast and they sent out a whole team of people and got the job done in a very short time. They cleaned up after themselves and did a very good job. We had no complaints.

Both tree removal and stump grinding ended up being delayed due to rain. The office rescheduled with us. The tree removal crew came out when expected to cut down and chip the tree. They were punctual and efficient, removing the tree pieces from the yard without damaging fences or lawn. The stump grinder was punctual on the rescheduled date. She also worked efficiently and professionally.

Of three estimates. Smitty's was the least expensive. Also gave us senior discount. All their people were very pleasant and professional. Came promptly to estimate. Responded to our calls with follow-up questions. Arrived on schedule, completed tree cutting same day and stump grinding two days later. One tree was on lot line and through wires. Managed to cut it without going into neighbor's yard. Other companies wanted access to their property for heavy equipment. Smitty's may have been lower tech, but got the job done smoothly and professionally. Did take some divots out of our lawn by dropping logs but in fairness, we had indicated it was okay. Arranged to have power lines disconnected. Only problem was getting Com Ed to reconnect. ComEd man who disconnected told me to give them 2-hour window to reconnect. Order called in at 3:15 and then were told at 5:30 that couldn't return until next day unless order had been received by 2:00 pm. Smitty's office staff very concerned and responsive next morning when I informed them. They called all their contacts at ComEd and got it reconnected by 11:00 am. Moral: If you have ComEd disconnect your power, be sure to order reconnect by 2:00 pm!

The work went very well. The estimator came out right away & left a very reasonable estimate, lower than the other one I got from an Angie's List company. Then when I asked about a 5% winter discount, they offered me a discount if I would have the work done right away instead & they suggested a date. I accepted and the workers showed up on time. They showed me proof of insurance coverage--very important--and after I signed the paperwork they got right to work & very efficiently and professionally took down first the smaller trees and then the larger one. The tree-climber was in the large tree for about 2 hours. He tied ropes to different limbs & one by one they were removed and lowered to the ground. The rest of the crew carried the limbs to the chipper. Most of the wood was chipped & removed. Larger pieces of the trunk were taken whole, probably for sale to wood carvers. After a couple of days a young man called to arrange a time to grind the stumps. They were thoroughly ground out down to about 2 feet. A couple of days later another call from a couple of men who arranged a time to remove the stump chips and replace them with dirt & grass seed. They beat the price of the other company I got an estimate from by about 25% and had all the appropriate insurance coverages and nice equipment. I probably didn't get a rock-bottom price but I am very satisfied because they did such an excellent job for a very fair price.
