We bought our condo a little over 5 years ago. The people who owned it before us tried to do everything themselves when it came to home repairs. One thing in particular they did, was try to repair the ceiling drywall in the main hallway of our unit. We live on the second floor of a 2-story walk-up, so the ceilings have suffered whenever the cable or satellite guy has come by and walked around up there--lots of cracking, nail popping, and tape coming undone. As a result, the people before us tried to do all of the taping and plastering when the ceiling drywall started to crack in the hallway. They didn't do a very good job, and the ceiling has got progressively worse over the past couple of years. I called Eric Henry at Home Repairs R Us, Inc on Dec. 27th, 2010, and told him about my drywall situation. He asked me to e-mail him the details, which I did. He responded within a day and confirmed that he could do it. He came by a couple of days later and took a look at the situation himself. He told my wife and I it would take a day or so to do the work and that he could handle it, no problem. We agreed that he would come out on Jan 10th to begin work. On the 10th he arrived on time and ready to work. He worked alone, and was able to do almost all of the tape repair and re-plastering that day. After about 7 or 8 hours he was basically done for the day and asked to come by the next day to finish-up. This wasn't a problem for us. The next day, the 11th, he arrived on time, this time with a partner, and completed the remaining plastering and painting. This took about 4 or 5 hours. When they were done, he and his partner cleaned-up the work area and left a great looking hallway! Mr. Henry was professional, friendly, and competent. My wife and I were both very happy with his work and are considering hiring him for additional work around our home. I should point out that while he was here, he noticed other areas around the house that he could help us with in terms of repairs that he could handle. This is good, 'cause it means we may not have to hire multiple people for different jobs.

We called Mr. Henry at Home Repairs R Us a few days before we did the work so we could be an estimate. He was very pleasant on the phone. He agreed to come take a look at the damage the day I called him. He recontacted me soon after him assessment of the damage and gave me the estimated details. He was told we were in the process of getting other estimates and we would get back to him. Once we selected Mr. Henry we called to see when he could do the work. Mr. Henry did the work within two days of our call. My husband was pleased with his work and with his pricing. He was very responsive and friendly. We would use him again and actually have already. We will recommend Mr. Henry.

I called Mr. Henry for an estimate for the work that I needed completed. He responded quickly and came out and gave an estimate. The work date was scheduled. However, I needed to reschedule and Mr Henry accomodated me without hesitation. Mr. Henry installed removed the existing carpeting and then installed laminate flooring in the family room. He removed and then installed a new front entry door and rehung bifold doors in two rooms. He also installed a ceiling fan in the family room. Mr. Henry cleaned up all debris and put all furniture back into place. He is also the most polite contractor that I have ever had.

Project never started. Eric never called back.

I had called four other people to come out to the house and had so many bad experiences with them. Companies didn?t show up or they wouldn?t take a job this small. When I got to Home Repairs R?US, he was very responsive and came out right away! The prices were very reasonable as well.

Very responsive! Mr. Henry had the work done within less than 24 hours of my initial phone call! Very reasonable prices too! I will be calling him for everything now. He can do most home repairs. I'm so glad I found him. I've been looking for a Handyman for years now. Thanks Angie's List!

Over all experience with this company was excellent. Very pleased with the work and communication was great. Would highly recommend this company for your repair needs.

very good work very polite did what they said they would do the senior guy on the job was excellent they hauled away 90% of debris, i told them it was OK to leave 10% polite, cleaned up after their work, overall it was a v messy job

Went very well. Took about 3 weeks but communication throughout was good, very good suggestions made, felt like we were dealing with a knowledgeable person. Very professional and curteous and the finished work looks wonderful.

call had an appointment, left my address at home, but sat in front of my because he wasn't sure if it was my house, so he left an called me when he got home to reschedule. had another appointment a few days later called at 8:00 am said he was going to be late, and didn't show up 2 hours later and left a note in mailbox. He said that he would call to make another appointment, but never called back.

Eric and his staff were very professional and punctual. They were very clean and very courtsey to me and my family. They completed all projects in a week.

The two man crew was able to finish the work in about 2 1/2 days. The work was well done.

I called Eric after finding Home Repairs 'R Us on Angieslist.com, and made an appointment for him to come and install the light the next day. Unfortunately, I didnt' know how much the mirror weighed so he said that he would have to come and see it in order to determine what kind of anchor he needed. But he was very nice, and very professional on the phone. At the last minute I had to cancel on him, but he was very flexible, and was able to come the next Monday when I was available again. On Monday, he showed up on time, and was very pleasant. He offered to take his shoes off, and once he saw the work that had to be done (and since he would have to make a second trip for the mirror) he offered to come back the next evening, and do everything at the same time. He did not charge me for this first trip, or the cancellation. When he showed up to install the light and the mirror, he had all of his tools, and an assistant, and spent a good amount of time moving my furniture (glass tables and chairs, as well as my heavy wood bureau) and installing the light. He was very careful with my belongings, friendly, and cleaned up afterwards (swept the floors and made sure everything was back exactly where I wanted it. He and his assistant were there longer than they expected (the mirror took longer than he originally thought), but he did not charge me more than he had estimated the previous evening. I will definitely be recommending Eric to all of my friends and family, and will absolutely use his services in the future. I am very happy to have found him.

He never gives a warranty or guarantee, so he always wants more money when he comes back to do more work. Today he got upset when we called and told him that he is responsible to fix this and told my tenant he would no longer be coming. Now the water is turned off and we are looking for another plumber that can come and fix this as soon as possible.

Eric is very professional. He made an appointment and showed up on time. He explained all my options & costs on the gutter repair. He let my husband and I make the decision as to how we want to proceed. I was very happy with the work. One of the best things was he cleaned up after himself. After Eric completed the gutters and had him back to do another repair on a leaky window.

Eric was very quick to understand the problem and tell us how it should be fixed. Made an appointment to complete the repair. Since he didn't need to come inside to proform the repairt to the window Eric came while we were at work. He called when it was completed and make an appointment with us to inspect the repair and pay him. I found Eric very professional and easy to work with. His price is fair. You can get cheaper but not better. We are going to use him again on a bathroom remodel.

We were very pleased with him. He is on time and when he says he's coming, he comes. He doesn't take forever to do what he is doing and he does a good job. His prices are affordable and he will work with you. We have had no problems with his work. If there is something that I want to ask him, he responds.

Eric was professional, very knowledgeable in helping to track the cause of the celiing leak, inspecting both our condo and the condo above us and waited patiently while we waited to make sure we had found the cause of the leak. When we tried grouting and caulking on the third floor and still experienced leaks over the following week, we cut a hole in the ceiling and found the cause. The third floor undertook the reparis and we let the ceiling dry out and removed the mold from the drywall and removed the insulation that had mold. Eric was able to restore the insulation and patch the ceiling leaving virtually no trace of the patch. When part of the ceiling was not patched as well as, he returned the next business day and had it completed within an hour. The ceiling looks better than it did when we first bought the condo new. Excellent service and patient in giving options each step of the way.

Overall, it went well, just as I have listed above.

I contacted him for the work, and he said he was interested and he would call me back after lunch. I waited over an hour with no call. I called again and he had the phone off the hook. I always make an effort to respond myself, and I do not want to deal with a company that is not interested in returning my calls.

I left a message at several screen repair numbers but Mr. Henry was the first to call me back. He quoted me a price over the phone and we set up the appointment with a window of 2 hours. He arrived when he said he would, bringing with him replacement screen. He took off the patio sliding door and right in the driveway he removed the torn screen and replaced it with new screen, making it tight and straight. He then replaced the door and ensured that it moved smoothly on the track. The whole operation took about 20 minutes. The cost was exactly his quote. He took the torn screen with him.

I was pleased with the job he did. He was very conscientious about setting up the right time and called me to be sure that I was going to be there. He was very prompt. He found out why the siding on the soffit came loose in the first place, and he repaired that too. It was a bitterly cold day and he had to battle the shrubbery as well - he did it all without complaining. He worked hard till the job got done. His work became that much more important because I had asked a handyman to come over and do the work but he had said that he would come over after the weather had gotten better.

First, before he came up the first time, he said he was tied up with other service calls just before he was to show up. I noticed some of the items were not done properly and he was to complete some additional work as well. Made arrangements for him to come back and fix those things. He called me at the time he was supposed to work letting me know he could not make it and we rescheduled at his request. I told him to be here next time. Called to confirm the time and date and he was resentful that I was checking on him. Said I should not be on his case and he then did not show up.
