Description of Work: Chuck was very prompt in responding to my call about gutter cleaning and providing a quote. His price was very reasonable and completed the service within 3 days of his quote despite the forecast for rain. He did an excellent job and also fixed a loose siding problem that we had on the house since we built many years ago. I would recommend his services to anyone looking for an honest and reliable service provider. We will definitely use his services again in the future.

+ -1 moreBottom line: Use this company for your gutter cleaning! After our first bad Angie's List experience, this time we wanted to pick a company that had ALL "A" ratings which McGee Exteriors has in addition to receiving the Angie's List Super Service Award last year. I called the company and spoke with Chuck. He was able to arrive the same day for service and he was punctual! It's impressive when someone is punctual especially when you know they have other jobs they are working on throughout the day. His price was much more affordable compared to other companies and after 50min of cleaning out our clogged gutters and window wells, he came to tell me that most of the back windows of our home did not have insulation and caulking at the top which allows for cold air to seep into the home. He even took pictures that I requested he email to me. (We would not have known to look for this had he not told me & we have since contacted someone to fix it.) In addition, he said that there was a lot of accumulated lint from the dryer vent which he removed since it is a fire hazard. There are not too many people who would go out of their way to look for other problems outside the task at hand. Chuck went above and beyond to provide great service & showed genuine care for our home. We will definitely use him next year and will also recommend him to others who are looking to have their gutters cleaned!

+ -1 moreAt the end of Chuck's first day of work he asked for $300 to cover materials and told me he would come back later that month to finish up. None of the front of my house had been painted. He replaced a board, did some caulking, primed the new lumber and remounted the gutter. And it remains the same to this day (7 months later), because he never returned to finish. My guess was that he determined throughout the day that the work required was far more extensive than he initially predicted and he wasn't going to come back unless he could renogiate the price. In his defense I could have called him and didn't. I was not looking forward to arguing over the cost versus estimate and I had plenty of other things to waste that money on. That doesn't excuse his lack of attention either. I was impressed with what he did, he was fast, efficient, cordial and focused. I did not get around to applying my 15% off coupon from Angies List to the work.
Description of Work: I asked "Chuck" to come out and quote installing a gutter downspout that had fallen off the side of my house. I figured the work was going to be very easy but I didn't have a ladder capable of going that high and I figured buying the ladder would cost more than just having a professional come out and do it. Chuck came out to evaluate and quote the work, and told me that to just to fix the gutter it would be $100 or, he would repaint and fix up (replace rotted boards, recaulk etc.) the entire front of my house for an additional $800. Sounded like a good deal so I said sure. Chuck came out, replaced a board, primed the lumber, installed the gutter, recaulked some Facia and got paint made to match my house.

Description of Work: Originally I gave this company an "F" because when I originally spoke to Chuck McGgee on 7/31 or 8/1, about a small downspout job, he never called me back. "After describing the job, I asked if he was interested, in coming to look at it and give me a price, as it was a small job. He said he was but he couldn't schedule a time, as he had a job going until the end of the week. He told me he would call me on Friday 8/3, during the day, once he knew his schedule was going to be, so we could schedule a time for him to come. He lives about 5 miles from my house. I never heard from him again, and had to call some other contractors. I lost 3 or 4 days of valuable time because he obviously wasn't interested. All he had to do was be honest when I asked him originally if the job was too small for him. He didn't and never kept his promise to call and schedule an appointment and that is unprofessional and shows disregard for others." This was my original evaluation. Then, sometime after I posted this, Chuck called and apologized and said that he had made a mistake and misplaced his notes on this and didn't realize what he had done until it was too late. I gave him a second chance to do some work for me, cleaning my gutters and installing strainers in my downspout outlets (14 of them), becasue the original job had already been done by another company. He was truely a professional who knew what he was doing from start to finish and he was careful and considerate of the many plantings that we have around our house. He did eveything the way that I wanted it done and even did some extra cleaning of gutters on the street side of the house. Chuck comunicates well, and is good at what he does.

+ -1 moreChuck came over within a couple of days, assessed the situation, discovered the downspout hole was smaller than the size of a golfball, creating my gutter to back up with mud, leaves and water which birds bathed in and water poured over when it rained. I was concerned about the pooling water getting under the shingles and causing water damage to my house. He also fixed some loose footings on my roof stacks and showed me pictures of what he had done. Definitely a good choice in Chuck!

+ -1 moreGutters look great. Made sure the down spouts were working. Also cleaned the sky light which wasn't really expected but nice. It wasn't an emergency but he made it out to our house with a day or so. Did the work and left a bill. Very easy to deal with.

+ -1 moreThey are very professional. They know what they’re doing. They come out pretty quickly. They just get the job done. That’s what I like best about them. They are very responsive and just do the job. We paid him $80 for doing the whole house. It’s a two storey house. I thought their price was fair. They are not very warm and friendly but they are very professional. That’s all I care about. I intend to call them again to continue with the gutter cleaning. We will use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: We used McGee Exteriors for gutter cleaning. We’ve had them come over twice. I think they fixed a leak in our chimney the first time. Then we brought them back to clean our gutters probably about a month and a half ago.

Ended up fixing some cracks in the chimney and used a cell phone camera to show me what he had found and what he had done. Thought I recieved a great deal of value for the price paid. I would not hesitate to use again or recommend to my neighbors.
Description of Work: Cleaned gutters of both my two story house and my barn. In addition checked over the roof for any loose or missing shingles. Ended up replacing a few shingles in a couple of locations.

+ 1 moreHad a wonderful experience. Returned call promptly. Came out within 2 days. Called ahead to make sure he had the right equipment (ladders) with him. While on the roof, patched a hole he found without asking or charging me. Took a picture of a problem area I might keep an eye on in the future, and told me how much he would charge to fix it himself. Even after he left, he called me to tell me that he forgot to mention while he was there, that he saw a hawk hanging around in my backyard, so I might want to be careful when letting my new puppy outside. Very thoughtful and I will definitely use again!

+ 1 moreGreat job every time, calls me to remind me in Spring and Fall to clean the gutters. Price always fair. Chuck is very friendly and personable with me and the family including the dog! One time he noticed a small pile of sawdust on my front porch and alerted me it may be an insect(s) digging into my siding/trim. he was correct as a large bumble bee was digging a hive into the side of my house. Don't hesitate to use Chuck, you'll be impressed.
Description of Work: Semi-annual gutter cleaning which includes inspection of my roof, chimney for possible damage since the last visit. In the past, has replaced a chimney cap, replaced undersized downspouts with new larger ones to allow correct water flow, fixed some flashing, caulked around the chimney bricks/flashing and alerted me to some potential roof shingle issues. In addition has knocked off wasp nests that are normally out of my reach and offered to install gutter covers.
