Great Recover Construction

It has taken me a long time to write a review because the experience with the owner of this company was very unpleasant. The owner spent most of a day at our house installing two new replacement interior slab doors. He damaged both doors during installation, and also put the doorknob to our bathroom door on backwards. The owner seemed very frustrated as he worked. Later, when I mentioned a burn mark that was sustained during installation, the owner became extremely angry to the point that I felt uncomfortable with him in my home. We didn't bother mentioning damage sustained to the other door, nor did we bother to mention or ask him to properly reinstall the doorknob on our bathroom door that he'd installed backwards. Note that this job was fully discussed before this owner accepted it. However, I think he may have regretted advertising a coupon discount. The owner appears to have anger management issues so, in light of the quality of his work and his behavior, I cannot recommend him.

It went well. They did a good job. Lots of measuring, as one would assume. It looks great.

Well. They did our projects quickly

He was late, was not really wanting to complete work because of the way the screens were built and said that the screens would just fall out again. I asked him to please complete the job and he did. Was a nice enough guy but would not use him again.

Have never been contacted by this firm.

Roman was fantastic. He contacted me in advance and kept me posted on when he'd be arriving. He took great care removing the old doors and installing the new. He made sure they hung properly. We talked about the other fine woodworking he does and I was just sorry my timber loft isn't built for--or doesn't have the space--for some great wainscoting or crown moulding. I saw the work he does on his Facebook page and I just wish I had another project to give him.

Went well. He said it was tricky but he did a fine job.

I fired Roman. Our appointment was 7:00am. He called me at 6:50 that he was at my property. I said I may be 15 minutes in arrival. Unfortunately, the Dan Ryan was backed up due to an accident with people on the road. Roman texted me at 7:14 "this isn't working well already, You breaking my schedule" I responded that I was caught in traffic. When I arrived at 7:30 frustrated that I was late, I apologized profusely for my delay. Roman was very upset and said, "I am behind and will be late for my next appointment" I again apologized and said that traffic made me late. He snapped at me saying "there is always traffic!" implying that I should have left earlier. I said I was sorry and he continued with "I am going to be late to my next appointment" At this point I told him to just go to his appointment. His anger and frustration was too much for me to deal with. After I left, Roman began texting me with angry messages and berating my punctuality. This was a bit upsetting because I felt almost threatened with his angry texts. I am sure he is great at his craft but his anger issues got him in trouble. He could not let it go and kept sending texts. I was not willing to put with such rude and unprofessional behavior. There was nothing more I could have done but anger cost him the job.

I communicated with Roman throughout the process. He was very friendly and professional. My boyfriend wound up doing all of the work for me, so I didn't wind up using the service. Even still, I was very satisfied with the service!

Roman worked hard to hang my items in an older house which had tricky play the walls but worked with care and precision. Brought hardware to accommodate my needy which was above and beyond the services.

Ramon was very nice but he could not repair my door. He placed weather striping outside the door. I definitely overpaid for the work I received. I will think twice before buying any of the special offers again because I basically wasted $200.

We hired Roman from Great Recover Construction after fielding multiple bids for our finish carpentry project. We replace every piece of trim in our vintage condo and installed new crown moulding, chair rail, and picture frame moulding. Roman also repaired and re-installed several pre-hung doors which had been installed improperly by a previous contractor, and caulked all of the trim work. He was one of the few contractors who responded promptly to our email request for an estimate and answered any follow-up questions we had before committing to a contract. His work was excellent quality - he took time to make sure each piece he installed was the best it could possibly be (not an easy task for a condo built in 1921) and was great at keeping us informed throughout the process. He also was great at finding creative solutions for any problems that popped up along the way. I plan on using him again in the future, and highly recommend him to others.

It went well. Their workmanship and attention to detail were excellent. They did a good job, they were good. The time expired, from the purchase and the guy was fairly aggressive about getting cash to extend. Two guys show up and I ended up needing them longer. When I said, "Yeah, let's extend, let's finish this job," he was aggressive about getting paid cash for the extension and he kept asking me about it. It was fine. They did very good work. I would use them again in the right circumstances like if I had something I knew needed 10 hours. Two guys, they were fast, they were workman like. When I said, "Extend the time," it just got weird how aggressive he was about the cash. That's the only thing I would say negatively about that. It wasn't crazy, but it kind of caught me off guard. It was another three hours extra. It said in the ad that the rate was $40 an hour. So it was another $250, maybe. Overall, it was very good, he was on time, he did exactly what he said he was going to do, but I'll ding him a little bit for the really weird aggression towards getting the cash for the extension. They were fast, they were professional and they did great work. I will definitely use them again.

All was great. Roman originally came to give me an estimate on another project, but I was not ready for that. He is so easy to work with. He suggested a great product to stain the deck. Weather was not cooperating, but Roman came every time he could and got the job done. Thank you.

Doors look very nice – big improvement over what we had! Work took longer than expected, likely because some door frames aren’t square and requires additional work for doors to fit properly and operate smoothly.

Roman did an awesome job seeing the vision we wanted to continue are excising cabinets, wine refrigerator and pantry to from a custom look. He made suggestion to give a more high end look and I will definitely use him again!

They were on time and very professional. They offered good suggestions for my trim work. I would use them again.
