+ -1 moreI’ve used this company twice now. They took down a walnut tree and cleaned up every walnut that fell. Another time, 3 birch trees. Matt is very professional and knowledgeable in what he does. His crew is outstanding. They take the time to insure the job is done right without damage to surrounding vegetation. When the job is done, everything is picked up. You’d never know they were there. I highly recommend this company for any tree service needed.

+ -1 moreAfter a major storm hit Itasca we called and they came out later that day to assess the damage, even though they were extremely busy. Then they came out the next day, with four trucks, to remove three large trees and numerous branches that were blocking our driveway. Ten days later they returned to finish the job, even though they were still very busy. We have used them many times over the last 30 years and have always been very pleased with their work. Their price is always much lower than anyone else's.

+ -1 moreMatt from MDL and he's crew removed a large tree that was in between our driveway and our neighbor's house. His crew was very careful not to bump or damage the houses or driveways. The large equipment they had was very impressive. They removed the stump completely also. They cleaned up after themselves very well and were courteous and professional. When you hire MDL you do have to be patient if the tree removal is not an emergency (storm). It took a couple of months before they were able to come out but I was told that from the first phone call.

+ -1 moreWe received a verbal estimate from the company. The technician has not preformed any services yet, however. We have never heard back from the company about scheduling the actual service. I thought the estimate they gave was very reasonable. The technician who came out did fine work and had some good information to share. I had no problem contacting the company initially for the estimate.
Description of Work: I hired the company for an estimate to cut back on two dead trees on the property.

+ -1 moreI had a pine tree in the front yard, corner lot so very easy access, that I wanted removed. The price was amazing. Can't beat it. But the coordination wasn't great. You have to call them late at night in order to talk to someone. I had a lot of plants around the tree that needed to be moved and I wasn't given any advance notice for when they were showing up. It was luck of the draw that I was home. However, they did remove any plants that were ni the way that would get crushed by the stump grinder and put them back in the ground before they left. So that was much appreciated. And this spring - all of my plants that were semi-traumatized are still alive! All in all, not bad, MDL.

+ -1 moreInitial contact was by phone and calls were returned late in the day (after their work day). Estimate was given in a timely manner but was verbal. I asked for it to be put in writing to which they eventually complied. Work was completed quickly and efficiently. Would have liked a little more care with the stump grinding and clean up as a small hole was left in the house siding by the patio. The price, however, was unbeatable for this job. Will take everything into consideration if I need their services again.
Description of Work: An 18" diameter Austrian pine and stump were removed from my backyard.

+ -1 moreI would not use any other tree service than MDL - I was truely impressed Matt is a hardworking true professional who takes pride in his work and it definatley shows.
Description of Work: They cut down and and removed trees plus ground all the stumps down. Pruned very large maple tree. I cannot say enough nice things about Matt. Very professional, knowledgable and he has every tool and piece of equipment imaginable to get any job done. They were fast and when they left my house there was not even one leaf on my lawn - clean up was remarkable. We have used them in the past and would not even think about using anyone else. I have even referred Matt to family members and they were equally impressed.

+ -1 moreThey were very good. I had to make few calls to get an estimate and make him come here; however, once he gave the estimate, he finished the work quickly. They did not leave any mess. They did a really nice job cleaning up.
Description of Work: I used MDL Tree Service to cut a tree down in October. He took down a large tree and trimmed the trees that were over hanging in our driveway. They also took out the stump.

Description of Work: I have used this company in the past and they removed some very large trees from my yard, close to the house and did a great job. They are not cheap but in line with most tree removal services. It has been years since I used them so I don't really remember dates and prices. They seem to be a very popular company and sometimes are difficult to get a hold of them to discuss project, get and estimate and feedback on estimate and schedule an appt. I always called them first. In the past few years I have used other companies and been satisfied with the service I received. I called MDL about 2 years ago to have trees trimmed and never heard from them. It was a after a huge storm so I know they were busy. If they couldn't help me, I would have appreciated a message on my answering machine with that info. They do an excellent job and clean up the yard perfectly. I would use them again but I have also found several other good companies who clean up after they complete the job.

+ -1 moreThey were excellent. I thought the price was extremely reasonable. They came when they said they would. They cut the trees down very quickly. They cleaned up well, too. They did a huge tree in two hours, which is incredible. Other places wanted two days to do it and twice the money.

+ -1 moreI can't say more about the service we received from Matt. He came out the night I called him, I was extremely concerned about the tree falling on the house, utility poles, as well as people! He came by and spoke with my husband, and put our fears to rest. Even though the tree had been bolted and cabled by a different big name tree service less than a year earlier, it had to come down. The bolts and cables should've never been a permanent fix. Matt assured us he could do the job safely, and for $1200 less than two other companies I received quotes from. Matt and his crew were able to take the large tree down in only four hours and managed to work around the fencing, all the lines, the garage, and the house. I honestly believe Matt loves his job and takes pride in the great service he provides people. He was friendly and knowledgeable and we will definitely hire him again.
Description of Work: Removed very large American Basswood tree from tight quarters in our city backyard. The tree had become dangerous because of a very large crack that had developed from the top of the trunk to the base.

+ -1 moreMy neighbor recommend MDL Tree Service. I checked Angie's List to see what other people had to say about them. I found favorable reports so I called. Matt Kaspari returned my call later that day and promised to come out the next day to inspect the tree. I spoke with him the next day. He assured me the tree was healthy and recommended trimming some of the branches near the power lines. He had some other jobs lined up for my area in the near future. He came on 6/11/07 with his crew. They were very friendly and professional. They quickly trimmed the tree, removed the branches and cleaned up.
Description of Work: One of the branches on the tree in my backyard snapped in a recent storm, but did not harm the power lines or house behind me. I wanted some other branches removed to be on the safe side.
