From start to finish the entire enterprise went smoothly and without complications.

The were wonderful. They showed up on time and i have no complaints. I would recommend them to others as well as use them again in the future.

Moving my mom and sister's belongings from Oak Park Illinois to San Francisco, Bay area was a daunting task, especially because it was the middle of winter and Chicago had been hit with a hellacious storm. J&P did a great job, were very understanding and supportive of the challenges involved in moving an older person. They coordinated with me so that I could time our arrival by plane for one day after they arrived in the Bay Area. It was really important that we timed this move as close as possible as I could not fly my mom to SF Bay area till the move was unpacked and the house somewhat set up, yet I had to rely on the arrival estimate of the movers in order to book my flight. The movers were great, they made record time in transporting across country so my family members on the receiving end had the time to set the house up before we arrived. I would use J&P again!

The guys were on time, politely introduced their names and started waking right away. They were calm throughout the whole move. Started running and they accommodated removing shoes to avoid tracking mud in the house.

Our movers arrived on time with a great attitude and professional manner. Worked straight through with diligence and covered all our questions.

Bonnie was great at answering my questions and helping me schedule a time for the movers to come to my place. This was a very last minute appointment, therefore J&P being so accommodating was a great thing! Additionally, company was honest to me when answering my questions, and did not give me a runaround. 3 Guys arrived at 8:55AM on Saturday morning to help with the move. They were very nice and professional, quick, and punctual. They did a quick skim through my place to see where to start the move. Everything seemed to go pretty smoothly! After the packing, they moved me out to the suburbs, first to the house to drop off wardrobe boxes, and then finished it off at a storage facility to unpack everything else. Overall, it took about 4 hours of work (including the 45 minute drive out to the burbs) to pack and unload my belongings to multiple locations. Very happy with this, and spent about $600 after tips!Would definitely recommend J&P Movers again! Especially my crew!

They came, packed up the things we wanted, put other stuff to garage. Then brought stuff to the apartment.

They were very good and proficient. They were simply great.

A three man crew arrived in the morning, wrapped all my furniture in protective wrap and unloaded it at my destination. They moved quickly and didn't damage anything, even having to navigate a very narrow stairwell. They guys were friendly and efficient. I am planning to move again in about a year and will definitely be using this company when I move again.

Frank & Frank my movers were professional and arrived right on time. They took care of everything from beginning to end. When they first arrived they both shook by hand and introduced themselves by name. They would make light conversation which helped me feel very comfortable during the move. The wardrobe boxes were an extra special touch. I usually cringe at the thought of moving but with JP Movers (Frank & Frank) this was by far the easiest move I have ever experienced.

The movers were professional yet quite amiable. The needed to remove a door and jam in order to move a large desk. They shrunk wrapped the desk before moving it out of the room because the clearance was only 1/8" on either side and the padding could not be wrapped or the desk wouldn't fit. They performed that task beautifully - not a scratch or nick on either the desk or the walls. Their task was made even more difficult because there were men painting the walls throughout their path. There were a few items which needed to be packed (pictures in glass frames). They were packed with efficiency and care.When the load arrived at destination, the movers were efficient and amiable. They did everything that was asked of them in a professional manner. I am quite pleased and will use JP moving when I move out of my house this summer.

I called an received an estimate for my move and was told it should take about three hours ($90 per hour + $45 fee). I agreed to schedule my move for the morning time slot, as they mentioned they don't like to schedule Angie's List referrals in the afternoon. The day before, I called to confirm as my deposit was never charged and I was concerned that my move wasn't scheduled. Everything was fine, the office was just super busy with summer moves. Understandable. I was told to expect my movers to arrive by 9am as I was their first move for the day. They arrived at 9:30am. Once the guys arrived, I was given an estimate to sign for a 5 hour move. I had only budgeted for a 3 hour move and didn't understand the difference in the quote given over the phone. I told them to concentrate on the big items first, and to watch the time. If time ran out, I would move the small stuff myself. I explained that my rental office would allow my movers to use the elevator right next to my apartment but that there would be about 7 stairs to get to the main level. Rather than use the more convenient elevator, the mover insisted that he travel all the way to the freight elevator (the building is huge), to save time since the stairs would have taken a lot longer. This did not make sense to me, as I had moved in using this elevator a year ago, but I let him do his job the way he sought fit. He is the expert, right? I have to say that the three movers were very nice to me. However, they seemed very unprofessional - constantly complaining about their jobs and the company they work for. They even talked about eachother when one wasn't in the room. I understand moving isn't the most desired job, but there has to be a filter on what you can say in front of a customer. It became a bit uncomfortable at times and I felt bad for them. The move seemed to take forever due to the long amount of time each trip to the elevator took. Finally, they told me that they couldn't fit anymore of my boxes into their truck. What?! I asked if I had more items than a typical one-bedroom apartment would have, and they said no. "All of the big trucks were in the city". I realize that I put pressure on the movers to get the job done in the three hour period. So I understood if there were items I needed to move myself. I was prepared for that. However, running out of space on the truck seems ridiculous to me. What if I allowed them to take longer than 3 hours, what would they have done not having space for my belongings? The overall move went fairly well. A few items were damaged - a nick out of my coffee table and end table. It's not a huge deal to me as I can fill it in with a brown marker, I'm sure. I felt that the price was reasonable, I just wish they had an appropriate sized truck so I didn't have to make so many trips in my own car.

Company was responsive, and was able to accommodate move with a short notice. They delivered the load sooner than expected, and even worked on the weekends. The cost was significantly better than a previous move with the same weight and a similar distance.

Everything went like clockwork. They moving team was professional, experienced and took great care of all our furniture and personal belongings.

As I said above, the proejcts wetn quite well over all. The people in the office did a great job helping me to understand ho0w to plan for the move

It appears this company does not do local moves. I would only contact them if you are making a long distance/higher cost move.

The guys showed up on time, were professional and polite. They were packing some things and moving a bunch of boxes to a storage unit. They were done in less than the three hour time minimum charge. I will most likely use them when I move.

The move went flawlessly from start to finish. Bonnie in the office was very friendly and helpful. The movers arrived on time and moved everything efficiently and did not damage anything. We had to pay $25 extra from the quoted price for them to shrink wrap furniture in quilted moving blankets. They were careful not to break anything and to not dirty any flooring. The 3 men were very friendly and professional. I would use this company again.

UPDATED 6 12 2011: my sister was on site that day and you are free to talk with her - i was not negative with your 'guys' i was, however, very aware of what they were doing to my antique furniture. When i set this move up I was very clear, and it is in writing on my expectations, which was to wrap the furniture, which is how it has ALWAYS been done for me in the past. In addition, you did not show up with any form of a box for the TV and your guy that was on the phone with you and you charged me for that hour he was on the phone with you, said he was going to charge me for a box at 3x the rate i had in the email. The clothing boxes were moldy and one of your crew was beyond surly. You sent someone to 'fix' my damages that couldn't speak English, had no license and could not provide any references - are you kidding? How do you fix a metal lamp that your team snapped in 1/2? And, I faxed the claim form 2 times and mailed once and your office lost it each time, I'm sure by accident, right? Why should i pay for your crew's water? that is your job or theirs...and yes, they did ask for it and since everything was packed we had to buy it You want to talk - call me - my number is the same. Don't accuse me of such things in writing, especially when I have witnesses to the event (sister and neighbors) and all the other material in writing - be very careful what you write when you don't have the backup UPDATE: well still no response from this company on paying and fixing what they broke - what a joke! thinking about reporting them to the state at this point I actually felt like I had 1.5 men on the crew most of the time, even though I paid for 3 full time movers. The lead was on the phone for about 2 hours until I asked him to get off (even my neighbor noticed him on the phone talking and not working) and one mover was not moving or helping and not a pleasant person. One man, whose name I cannot remember, worked his fanny off. Once the lead got off the phone he worked hard as well. but my sister and I had to constantly manage them to keep them focused and working and on-task. Now, I wish I had supervised the loading as well, since I'm not sure they had a clue how to load furniture. I ended up hand carrying part of my clothes as the 'free' clothes boxes were all damaged but one was simply not something I wanted to put my belongings into; they all were moldy. I spent around $30 on water; they not only didn't bring their own, they didn't get anything when they took lunch and I had to provide it; a first for me as well. The damage they did was: the veneer was chipped off my dresser and chunk of wood off my dining set. a metal light fixture is snapped in half and the 100 year old glass in the curio isn't cracked, it's actually chipped out; like a chunk is missing. there is a chunk they took out of my wood floor when they slammed a metal and marble light fixture down and the top of my H***** desk, brand new, is completely ruined due to scratches all over the top Now two months later still have not received payment for all the broken items. Sent a claim form which they received but then 'lost' when I wouldn't let their 'guy' fix my items (even though he said he couldn't fix them; he had no business cards, no business name and no proof of insurance). Now they want me to resend the claim form they suddenly lost - probably the worst moving experience ever and I've moved all over the country. Oh, and I'm supposed to pay for certified mail to 'prove' i mailed the form to them...what a scam Also, had in writing for a box for the TV for $40; they didn't show up with with and after th lead called and called (on my nickel) they said it would be 120 - obvious this company is unorganized and not concerned with follow-up or follow-through.

These folks were very pleasant to work with. They quoted a minimum amount and worked hard to keep everthing under the 3 hour timeframe. They showed up on time (3 member crew) and moved everything flawlessly from an apartment on 9th floor to the storage facility. Overall the work was done efficiently and in a quality manner.

They guys showed up on time and were able to get it loaded pretty quickly. Pretty basic move, but J&P had much better prices than everywhere else that I called.

This was my 1st experience with using a moving service. From the start, Bonnie was amazing at listening to what my situation was, coming out to the house the next day to provide me a more than fair estimate, and then assign a top notch crew to assist me with my move. When what I call phase one came (the move out and into storage), the crew (who I must say was very upbeat, positive, and just easy to work with) took stock of what work needed to be done and quickly got to work. They were always very polite and made sure that if they were not sure about a specific piece that they would consult my wife or myself before taking the appropriate action. They padded, wrapped, and then padded again ALL of the things that could possibly be damaged during the move and while in storage. To say the least - I was VERY impressed with the time they took to handle all of my household items. Fast forward 2 weeks and I get a call from Bonnie in the office - letting me know that the crew is loading the truck up the day before the scheduled move so that we get a prompt and timely delivery the next day. Once again, the guys showed up with smiles on their faces, great attitudes, and ready to get to work. We walked through the house and I helped them identify what/where all the rooms were in the new house. Once they got that they were off getting us moved into the house. I was very impressed with all the care the movers took to be VERY careful with all the new hard wood floors and capreting we laid. Any step that could have been taken to avoid scratching, staining, or messing up the floors were takend and I'm happy to say that not a scratch or dirt mark was left when the movers were done. It was an amazing experience and I will for sure call them back when we need moving services again. THANKS J&P!!!
