The move it self was from h***. The blizzard of 2015 disrupted the initial pickup date they arrived and then decided they would get stuck in the snow and left. Moving us back 2 weeks for moving. On the pickup date their truck broke down in front of my home. Required a tow truck to pickup this vehicle with part of my household goods on it. The second truck arrived and the overflow of my property was loaded. Upon agreement we called it a day. The next day they loaded the two trucks into one and delivered. This problem caused extra handling of my property. Finally in our new home.

I requested an estimate for moving - I had to request an in-person estimate. How can someone come close to an estimate without inventorying household possessions in person? The estimated price was not unreasonable; however, after repeated requests for a guarantee to move a safe to the 2nd floor of the new house, I was told the safe could only be moved to the main floor. Up to that point, she (Bonnie) had been coy when I asked about moving the safe to the 2nd floor. I have no place on the main floor for a safe. Perhaps they do not like long distance moves, or they are unable to handle heavy pieces. I chose a different mover, who successfully moved my safe to the 2nd floor.

The move could not have gone smoother. Brian coordinated everything in Chicago and made sure I was comfortable with the way things progressed. They packed up three bedrooms, a living room dining room and kitchen in less then 2 days. Not one item arrived broken or damaged. The loading took only one day instead of the two that were planned for because of a terrific crew. Robbie and Ryan were part of that crew and coordinated the driving and unloading of the merchandise once in Washington. These gentleman were amazing to work with. They took the stress out of the move and made it a great experience. Everyone who was part of the experience(family, friends, neighbors) asked for J&P's business card because they were so impressed. I can not tell you how much I appreciate their work, thei values, and their kindness during a usually stressful and demanding situation.

Stressful moving is not something I look forward to. Luckily, these guys made the ordeal more efficient. They were friendly and careful to my belongings. They did arrive somewhat late, but was not a huge deal. I do recommend for their great service and professionalism.

Bonnie came out and gave me a quote for a full pack and move. My original move date got pushed back a couple of times so when I was ready she made sure there was room for me on the schedule. I wanted to trim my budget so Bonnie suggested I pack most of my stuff and they packed the kitchen (glasses, plates, etc.) and artwork. On moving day a crew of 3 who's names I have forgotten arrived right on time. They were great, professional, friendly, funny. They had a one bedroom on a second floor moved to my new home, with stairs, packed, loaded, transported and unloaded in 4 and a half hours. Amazing. Highly recommend this company!

the guys showed up ten minutes early... were very professional.. didn't blink an eye at my requests for taking stuff to my storage unit and dropping things off at my local resale shop Saver... they took care of that all before lunch... they moved me from my4 bedroom rental to my temp rental until the short sale comes through....as I will need a mover a hopefully in the near future Sale.. becomes final .. I will definitely use this company again

These guys rocked it!!!! They are sooo polite and did a great job moving my belongings. They had great ideas on how to fit certain stuff in my house. (probably not in the job description, being interior designers and all ) but I went from 2400 sq ft to 660 sq ft. These guys had me moved so fast !!!! The other thing that was so amazing was the way they interacted with my special needs daughter. They treated her like she was no different than any other kid. I have moved quite a few times in my life and have never had movers. It was by far my best moving experience ever!! Thanks Guys!!

This moving company showed up 15 minutes early and ready to start. The first impression was excellent. The boys were very friendly and somewhat talkative. As discussed on the phone, 3 of J and P moving employees were to come and move my items from an apartment to a town home, unfortunately only two showed up. This made the move take more time. I had arranged for the movers to make a stop between my apartment and townhouse in order to pick up a couch & a few small miscellaneous items. The driver informed me that it was in his opinion, that the coach would not fit, so the thought was to go to the townhouse first and unload and then go to the house to get the couch and other items. The house is where my former spouse lives until we list it for sale, I wanted to get in & out before the X came home from work to avoid awkwardness. So their change in my plan stressed me. When we finally did get to the house, The boys came in to see the couch and determined not to wrap it in any protective film or blankets. I said twice "I think you should wrap it" "aren't you going to wrap it?' Both times the driver replied "I don't think we need to" . Well they did not wrap it and they struggle trying to get it out of the door consequently getting grease on my couch! Then they sent one of the ladies from the office to come and try clean the grease spot and it left a watermark on my couch! They did finally send a professional upholstery cleaner & remedied the problem. Lots of aggravation and lots of phone calls.... I wouldn't use them again. And I didn't even go into the story about how they broke the TV stand....... Suffice to say it was not a great experience.

They did a really good job. They communicated with me well. They were there on time. They were very careful with all the furniture items. They gave a written estimate and a very clear invoice when it was done. They only charged me for the time that they used. It was minimum. I had a good experience with them.

Our experience with this company has been awful. It took a four man crew 10-1/2 hours to move a 3BR, 1700 square foot home: the estimate for this move was for a maximum of 8 hours. There was breakage, furniture damage and damage to our new home.. The owner has been uncooperative as far as rectifying these issues. I would never use or recommend this company to anyone.

We were very pleased with the team from J&P. They ran late in the morning, but called us to let us know they were on their way but were stuck in traffic. We had 4 guys, all who got right to work once the trucks were in position. Team was all very courteous to us, behaved professionally, and took care with our goods. Our only complaint was that the transport from the city to suburbs with time for lunch seemed excessive, we made the same journey and also stopped for lunch but were at the house waiting for the crew for about 45 minutes. Not really an issue because they worked hard while at both locations, we were just surprised at the gap in time. As for damage, so far we've only discovered a couple of minor dents/dings that would be expected with a move. Only things discovered broken so far were some champagne flutes packed in a bubble wrap inside a box marked "fragile". Overall good experience.

These guys were great!!! They arrived on time, introduced themselves and went to work. The company charged $175 hour for a crew of 4 movers, $133 travel charge, $50 to move an air hockey table, $25 for each additional house and $35 for supplies. The crew was given an estimated 7 1/2 hours for the job from the company. They completed the whole thing in 4 1/2 hours. They worked very efficiently. I was concerned about the limited liability. As I signed off declining extra insurance, I asked one of the crew members if they were going to damage the furniture; he replied No. True to his word, nothing was damaged. They even moved a filing cabinet out of my house so a different one could be brought in. Multiole

There were 3 people and a truck. They reached in time. The guys were very good at their work. They were efficient in moving stuff. I just have two comments: 1) One of the guys lifted a suitcase with extendible rod we use for rolling it on the floor, and broke it. He didn't tell about it. I saw it happening so I asked him. After I asked, he accepted, but the other guy said it was not a big deal because they didn't break anything else, seriously? 2) When I booked the service I was told by the service provider that the move was going to take approx 5 hrs. They wrapped up everything in 4 hrs. When they noticed that they were finishing the work in lesser time, they went and sat in the truck for some time so that 5th hour can start. Right after the 5th hour started, they unloaded the last piece from the truck and charged me for 4 hrs and 15 mins. I don't mind paying for 15 mins extra, because the guys were efficient. It is just that it didn't look professional. Overall I was satisfied with the service. I will use them again if needed.

I was given a time frame of 12-2pm. The movers called and asked if they could come early - which I thought was great. I just had the walls painted and new flooring installed. They did a very careful and excellent job. They left and we needed one more thing moved. We called them and they came back!!!!! I would most certainly use this company again. I would like to also say that I looked into other companies who would add on travel charges even when I was not leaving the house. This company should be on the ANGIES PREFERRED LIST.
