AMPEST EXTERMINATING & WILDLIFE CONTROL

The company was not able to provide me service because I am outside of their service area. However, the gentleman that I spoke with provided me with a referral who was very responsive. I am appreciative of the referral because this service was quite difficult to find in my area.

FABULOUS!!! Joe really knows what he is doing. He is upbeat and communicative. He is punctual and creative in thinking. He did not want me to pay for traps when he felt that they were unnecessary so he covered a hole going into my attic to see if the varmints would tear through it again (or if they had already abandoned this nest). When they did tear thought the marker, he applied the $140 inspection fee to the trapping fee and dealt with it that way. Brilliant.

John was extremely helpful in his consultation of egress points that needed to be closed or protected before assuring the squirrels were out of the attic. Once all egress points were closed except for the holes created by the squirrels, John set traps on roof. Two squirrels were captured. Holes were covered. Success!

Excellent! Our issue was completely resolved...and quickly!!!

We'd hired another company and they failed to do anything, then disappeared. We called in Ampest and John and Jim took care of everything. These are true professionals who care about getting the job done right. They pulled two baby raccoons out of an interior wall they had fallen into. After they were done they cleaned up and made sure everything was right. I would hire these guys again in a second. I wish I'd hired them in the first place. They are the best there is.

It went great! The company is very responsive. Jane was helpful and great to talk to while setting up the appointments and organizing schedules to get the work done. Jim, the technician, explained everything very clearly to me and gave options for the solution. He was efficient and professional. Jim even came out a day early to remove a dead animal which I appreciate immensely. I have used two other pest services over the years and Ampest did the best job.

couldn't catch the critter, although the tech performed exactly as he explained he would. the bees were eradicated. pretty expensive

i kept telling them that I could hear loud sounds of moving and crunching in the attic during nights. But as I said no raccoons were trapped. They arrived promptly every day to check the traps and replace them if required. They were very polite and helpful. But my problems have not abated. I feel that that one week is not sufficient in our case. I wish their service was guaranteed rather than restricted for a certain number of days with additional monies to be paid for extra days. I don't know what to do. In the meanwhile my attic is continuing to get destroyed by the critters. I am very frustrated. I really liked the personnel and wish I could have rated them higher. I just wish the service was guaranteed.

First, let me state that I am an animal lover until they invade my space. When I heard strange noises above my bedroom at 1AM, I went outside and looked on the roof and saw a very large raccoon on the second story roof. I live in a split level home. It was on the roof of the second level. I immediately went back in house. I kept hearing the noises, and did not sleep all night. I checked Angies list and found AmPest. I called and Rob came out and confirmed that a raccoon had definitely gained access to my house. He showed me where the raccoon had climbed up the drain pipe. Its paw prints were on my siding. I was a nervous wreck. He was wonderful at calming me down and assuring me that they would trap it. He set the trap on the ground by the drain pipe and the next morning the raccoon was in the trap. I called and talked to Jane and told her it was there, but I was not going to be home. She told me that I did not have to be home and Rob would be by to pick up the animal. Rob put screening over the hole and monitored it for several days to make sure no more raccoons were in there. Then they arranged to have Jim come out and give me estimate on repairing damage. I gave them the okay. Then came the rain. Jane kept in touch with me until they could finally complete the repair. I never realized how much damage these animals can do. Thank goodness it did not occupy my attic for very long. I cannot heap enough praise on Rob, Jane & Jim. Great people, great personalities.

Ron from Ampest was our exterminator. He arrived on time and performed a whole house inspection and inspected the attic for any rodents. He determined that they had created a small hole in the eaves of the roof and set traps both on the roof as well as on the ground by the tree. Over the next 5 days we caught about 6 squirrels (the mother and some of her babies)and even one chipmunk. He arrived every morning to check the traps, replace them with new ones and take the squirrels to a forest preserve to release them unharmed.. After the service was ended, we cut down the tree by the house to prevent any squirrels or other wildlife from climbing on the roof. About a week later we heard some other noises in the attic and actually saw one squirrel on the roof so we called them out again. He looked again in the attic to ensure they did not get in but were confined to the eaves. He set more traps but was unable to catch any more squirrels. We think they eventually jumped off the roof and we have never heard anything back in the next two weeks. We are very pleased with their service, attention to detail and professionalism. They answerde all of our questions and did not hesitate to return after the contract was over to set more traps and monitor.

I tried contacting half a dozen companies to get a quote on squirrel trapping, but it was like pulling teeth with all of them except AMPEST. The others would never answer the phone or return calls when I would leave a message. With AMPEST, they answered the phone every time I called. I paid $400 for their squirrel trapping package, which included six days of setting and removing traps. I saw that other companies advertised a price per squirrel caught, but AMPEST was a flat fee regardless of how many were caught (in my case, it was 2 squirrels). I also paid $300 to have the hole repaired.

My experience with Ampest was one of the best customer service experiences I have every had. From the moment I called to schedule an appointment to the moment I paid the bill, my situation was treated with utmost respect and quality attention. First, my situation with bats is a situation that isn't well understood or dealt with by that many companies. Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised when I scheduled the appointment, that it was clear that Jane (the scheduler) was incredibly knowledgeable about bats in addition to general pests. Next, there was a 2 hour window for when Dan would arrive and he arrived at the START of that timeframe instead of the end. Dan asked questions about the bugs we were seeing and then went about his work on the inside and outside of our house. Next, we moved on to the area of greatest concern for me...bats in our attic! Dan's inspection wasn't just "yeah, you have had bat(s) in here at some point", but rather it was very thorough. He took his time walking and looking closely at the entire attic space while educating me regarding bats, what to look for and what is or is not a concern. After inspecting the outside of the house, Dan then continued to explain and write down his suggestions for me. Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say about Ampest's employees and will use their services on a regular basis moving forward.

We've had a new problem with carpenter ants in several places in the house, and with no old wood anywhere (new house/renovation), we were concerned. Ampest had great reviews on AL, called and spoke with Jan. She answered my questions, offered some suggestions, and we scheduled a visit for 4 days later. Joe arrived early within the 2-hour time window, was polite, courteous, answered all our questions, and showed us exactly what he'd be doing. So far, so good. He said if we saw any new activity after 7-10 days, to call and they'd come back out again, no charge. Would definitely recommend them / use them in the future.

The exterminator came out and determined that a squirrel had built a nest on one side of the roof. He climbed up on top of the roof (this is a three story apartment building) to set traps and came back every day for a week until he caught the mother squirrel and all the babies. He took the squirrels out to one of the suburbs to release them (apparently it's illegal to kill them). He also sealed up the hole where the squirrel had come in as well as another hole on the other side of the building. He was very thorough and took care of everything. I would definitely use this company again.

They didn't fill in any of the holes. I just felt like what they did for the money was really inadequate. We've had this problem off and on for years. These guys come and set up some traps. I could set up same kind of traps any time. They never came back to check on it or find out if the traps worked. They took me around and showed the holes to me and then gave me another price to come back and fill them in.

We had great service from AmPest; friendly, flexible and professional. They kept regular communication with us throughout the whole process. Arrived on time and as scheduled. We would definitely use them again, if needed.

Jane was very helpful, professional and efficient. Bob called and let me know what time he would arrive and was timely. He was very respectful of my time and property. Set the trap on the roof and caught the uninvited guest the first night. He stopped by daily to check the trap and add fresh bait to see if there were anymore, but luckily it was just the one. Bob kept the trap there until we were able to get the roof repaired. I was very pleased with the price and very satisfied with the service.

We are in-progress on a rodent removal program and will be adding poison for mice prevention. So far, many critters have been removed in a prompt, professional fashion. Joe and Dan made any helpful suggestions on sealing up patio and garage where gaps may be entry points. So far they have delivered on every promise, I'd recommend them highly.

It was an excellent experience. Dan came out and went thru my entire attic, which is a very large area. He did determine that I do have a bat problem and identified 3 possible areas in which entry could be made. He explained that closing up these areas now would not be a good idea due to trapping the bat(s) inside the attic could cause a greater problem, they could die in the attic or try to find an alternative way out which could lead to them entering the living are of the house. Dan recommended we wait until the end of September when the bat(s) would leave on their own and then seal up the suspect entry locations. Dan was extremely thorough and informative. I will schedule the appointment for the sealing up at the end of September. This procedure will cost an additional $270 dollars.

We found them on Angie's List, and they were great. You don't have to sign a contract, so you pay per visit. So if you have a problem, they can come out again. The woman who is at the front desk was great, and the person she sent out to us was wonderful. They were truly a good company to deal with.

Ampest's greatest asset is Jane who answers calls and schedules services. She's fantastic. Bob Graff is another great asset. He came to my house, explained what he was doing and what the expected outcome was. In a matter of days, the squirrels were captured and removed. VERY HAPPY with the service and outcome. I hope I never have another need for their services...but if I do, Ampest will be my first call!

Okay, you want the details. I was too pushy and wanted lots of visits in the beginning. Lenny and Jane cautioned us to wait a while, as they know the breed. After 3 to 4 weeks, the boxes and traps inside caught 5 rats. Yuck, but we were happy to have them caught. Lenny has been great and has come (per our request) several times after - and it seems like they are totally gone. Al and I are so happy - this very much was ruining our summer to enjoy our nice patio yard. We are retaining Lenny and Jane on a monthly basis, as our neighbors are really doing nothing, and three of them all had the pleasure of the ugly things this year. I have to thank Lenny and Jane very much - you are great!!

Jane called back and I explained the issue of the fly problem. She was very nice and advised that we rot out the drains first before hiring an exterminator. If something is organic is stuck in the drain it will prove more difficult to eliminate the flies. I appreciated her honest feedback.
