We thought we were hiring a reputable company to build our home....We were wrong. There were many problems from the get-go and issues that will only be solved by our paying for them. TKO Custom Homes tried to short cut us from the very beginning using cheaper materials and trying to by-pass building codes. We had to keep a very strict eye on them and had to make them correct and follow through on many issues. When working with them, it wasn't pleasant and there were many bad feelings at the end. The most expensive problems being the furnace and the well. TKO didn't put in a heat pump and they also put in a second or third rate furnace for the size of our home. It has literally cost us over $20,000 over the past 4 years. The well wasn't done to last, just to get by on the one year warranty. By the time you figure out there is a problem with your furnace or your well, the one year warranty is up, so they assume no responsibility whatsoever to fix it. When letting them know that I would be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, it was in a nutshsell, "go ahead, they can't do anything". Our bathtubs look like they are 40 years old due to wearing where you stand - the plastic itself cracking, along with the protective coating gone, (that was by the 8th month in our home, but there were so many previous problems, we sadly let that one go),we have the duct work going right through the middle of our basement, and they "missed" putting in a radon system when they put in the foundation of the house, so there is this huge, ugly pipe running up through my storage room - taking up extra space and a definite eye sore. We are very disappointed with their morals. They are in it to make all they can at the expense of the homeowner. After having to put in a fireplace and having well work done to try and help with the power expense, when the companies find out who did our home, they are truly sorry for us, because of the reputation TKO has built for themselves - darn, sure wish we would have done our homework and not put our trust in their word alone. Would we ever use them again or refer them to a friend? NEVER!!

Don't walk out the door....RUN!. They will promise you the world then seriously under deliver. Many subs admited after the fact that they were specifically instructed to use the cheapest parts and equipment possible. Everything will barely pass code but will need replaced soon. We already have to replace the furnace as it is the cheapest and most expensive model available. We were never informed of this at the time of installation. They instructed the subs who drilled our well to use pvc instead of pipe!!! Brass check valves were not used but plastic floats instead....more money to fix. Good luck calling the office. They will tell you they have done all they can and there is nothing they can do to help you. Threats to call the BBB were met with "go ahead there is nothing they can do". Imagine the slickest used car salesman you can...thats TKO but they do it with sub par homes. Go somewhere else, you will be glad you did.
