I must take some of the blame here. I didn't get a contract nor did I ask to see previous jobs to see how good of a job Dustin was capable of. He painted the exterior of the home and did a fair job although it took him far longer to accomplished than agree upon. But all in all he did a fair job. I asked him if he knew how to tile and he said yes. I like the guy and thought I could trust him. He charged me $1,350.00 in labor and the cost of the green board and cement board. I purchased the tile, grout, spacers, handicap bar, and shower fixtures, costing over $800.00. A plumber was required to prepare for the new fixtures. My brother occupies the home and knows nothing about tile work. Dustin arrived late in the mornings after 10:00 am and would leave around 10:30 to 11:00 pm but took many breaks and long lunches. This job should had taken about 15 hrs accomplished but Dustin was there for 3 days spending over 12 hours a day. I live in Salt Lake City and when I inspected Dustin's handy work I was shocked by the extremely poor quality of work. Running up the wall from the tub to the ceiling, not one tile lined up in a straight line. Some tiles had grout on the out side row and other did not. He has smeared grout out an on to the ceiling. In the center over the tub is a 2 foot by 4 foot window. Raw wood is exposed and the previous curtain brackets were never removed and the window was not sealed in and tiled. The faucet wasn't flush to the wall with nearly 1/2 inch gap. Dustin never removed the haze from the tile and my brother said Dustin poured the left over grout down the bathroom sink, which I had to call in a plumber to clear the line. The other fault of mine is I didn't instruct my brother not to pay Dustin if the job was done poorly. I have pictures of this disaster if Angie's list would like me to provide. I now will have to hire another company to remove and replace this eye soar. If you do hire Dustin Reinke, you must check on him constantly and be sure you get references before you hire him.
