A very nice person. However, we feel work was rushed & substandard at times. We never received a written estimate & timetable for the job. Most times we didn't know who or when someone would show up. It took 3 inspections by the Health Dept. before the septic tank passed. Large rocks were in the fill dirt for the shop pad & it needed to be enlarged twice before the shop builder said it wasn't ideal, wished more had been done, & that it'd cause him more work but he could do it. Before the shop concrete floor could be poured, we had to bring in additional fill dirt at our own expense. The driveway was very bumpy & the excavator thought he could make it better by leveling the crown but then the dirt was so loose that some trucks couldn't make it up for about 2 wks. Then very large gravel was dumped on top but not packed down for another week or so & the only way to make it up was to gun it all the way to the top. (I got stuck twice.) Finally a top layer of finer gravel was brought in & packed down making it much smoother, however, the bumps were evened out only minimally. Lastly, the widening & side trenching for rainwater runoff wasn't done as we had requested.

When I get an estimate for a job, I expect the bill to come within 10% of the estimate. When a contractor starts charging for more rock than they said they'd need, I get cranky. They were supposed to be the experts on septic installation, but by disturbing (excavating) the soil around the test pit, Panhandle Health said that area wouldn't work for a drainfield anymore. Shouldn't my septic/excavator contractor known better? Caused me to spend more money pumping to a distant drainfield instead.
