The washer was completing all cycles except for the spin cycle. The technician took it apart and determined that the "motor control board" needed to be replaced. The total cost for repairs was over $400.00. I asked them to order the part and they replaced it 1 week later. At that time, the washer operated properly for 1 load and then had the exact same problem as it had initially. I called them and let them know the same problem was occurring at which point he suggested that it might be an electrical problem and I should probably call an electrician. After some discussion during which I explained that since the machine was functioning correctly other than the spin cycle he said he would send the technician out again. I explained to the technician that the machine had the same problem that it did before they fixed it. This time he cleaned the coin trap and thought that would fix it. It did not. After describing the problem on the phone with his boss, the technician informed me that the door lock switch was bad and that was causing the machine to not spin. He informed me that the part would be $75.00. I told him that I was very unhappy with the fact that I had already spent over $400.00 for a part that was not the problem. He then told me that the original part going bad most likely caused the door switch to go bad. Good grief. He then charged me another $70.00 (plus 3 1/2% fee for using a credit card) for coming out again. I thanked him, told him I was not happy and that I would order the new part for $24.00 online. All in all, it is my feeling that the technician did not have the training and/or experience to diagnose the problem in the first place. He told me that when his boss told him to check the vacuum line for the pump that "he didn't even know these washers had those". Unfortunately this was after I had already paid to replace the wrong part. I definitely would not recommend this repair firm to anybody.
Description of Work: Troubleshoot and repair my washer that would not spin.
