I had Premier Basement come out to encapsulate my crawlspace. I have seen their work before since my parents used their services for the exact same reason. I wanted a warmer floor which required something to be done with the crawlspace under my house. Scheduling was easy, Steve came out and inspected the space and we walked through what would need to be done. I filled out the required paperwork and away we went. We had to reschedule a few times but communication was always open. The gals in the office are on the ball. Art and his coworker (forgot his name) came out and got the job done in a day. They did have to come back another day because one of the vent covers broke and they had no spares in the truck. Not a big deal, we scheduled it and got it on in about a 2 week time frame. I am very happy with the work. I guess they actually do egress windows, which I will be calling them to do as soon as we move forward with finishing our basement.

After living in our home for a little over 4 years I finally decided to test for radon. To my surprise and horror the test came back at 30.3 pCi/L ! I contacted Premier Basement Systems and couldn't be happier with their service. Heather and Garrett were extremely responsive to my calls and emails, answering all of my questions and plainly explaining my options. They came up with a plan that was simple and minimally invasive. More importantly it is nearly invisible on the exterior. Most important of all, they reduced my radon from 30.3 pCi/L to just 1.2 pCi/L !!! My family can now breath safely in our home.

Description of Work: After some hard rains in May of last year we noticed some foul odors throughout the house. I checked the plumbing inside the house and could not find any problems. I then checked the crawlspace and was shocked. I had at least 6 inches of water. Needless to say I needed help. | |I called Premier Basement Systems on Friday and they came out on the next Monday. I had 3 problems. | |1. A 2 inch drain from the kitchen was broken allowing sewage to pile up under the kitchen. | |2. Water was coming in from under the foundation. | |3. Squirrels and mice were nesting in the floor insulation. | |By Wednesday approx. 5000 gals of water was removed and the plumbing was fixed. I opted to have the crawlspace sealed, insulated and a sump pump system installed. | |Yes it seems expensive but there is now no odor, no squirrels or mice, and the sump pump is doing its job. | |An added benefit is my heating bill is reduced because of the sealed crawlspace. | |I couldn't be happier with all the work that had to be done.

After my initial phone inquiry, but before our first visit, Premier sent a large booklet giving extensive information about the company and the science of waterproofing basements and crawl spaces. I recommend reading this booklet if you want to appreciate and understand, in plain language, what Premier does. The man who came out to give us an estimate was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He examined the problem areas, and took pictures which he sent electronically to a colleague for consultation. He had a portable printer that he used to print-out the detailed contract with warranty, and he was able to process our credit card deposit, all in one visit and in the comfort of our home. The work was scheduled to be started at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015, which I presumed was their first appointment of the day. We received a call shortly after 8:30 advising us that the crew would be late (about an hour or so). No explanation was given, but it didn't really inconvenience us. Four men arrived and worked for about an hour and 15 minutes. We were advised that there might be dust, so we had all the furniture, paintings and lighting fixtures covered. Our basement rec room is carpeted, and the crew put down a heavy drop cloth over the carpet from the bottom of the stairway to the alcove where the indoor work was done. It was raining that morning and we were told that for that reason the material used to fill the exterior cracks could not be smoothed out that day. We were told that they would come back after the material was set in a few days, when it wasn't raining, and when they had a crew in our area. I even got a call from Shelby a few days later confirming their intention to follow up and finish the work. But a month went by without hearing from them. I called and the woman who answered apologized and told me the work order had been misfiled. A crew of three arrived on May 1 and worked for about twenty minutes to finish the work. After they left, I realized that I hadn't asked if the material used to fill the crack could be painted. I called the company with my question, and within minutes I got a call back with the answer: yes, but wait three days.

Premier Basement Systems was a class act from start to finish. Everyone was extremely prompt, courteous, and helpful. The information packet that they sent before the inspection was very helpful. A pleasant surprise was finding that the recommended solution was the right solution for the job and not the most expensive. I didn't even go after a second quote. Repairs were scheduled for the next day and it was done in a couple of hours. I would not hesitate to recommend them every time to family and neighbors. I can now finish off my basement!

From start to finish these guys were amazing!! They were professional, courteous, worked thoroughly, with integrity and did an amazing job! I recommend them to everyone I know!!
Description of Work: They came and removed the mold, insulation and moldy dirt under my house, installed a moisture barrier, new insulation, repaired the foundation, replaced new supports, and installed a permanent outside access to the crawlspace under my house. They also added floor joices under my floor where it was sagging. (Old water pipe broke, flooding the crawlspace under my house, washing out supports and causing all kinds of damage....resulting in mold, which caused me to become very ill.) I called P.B. to come and clean out the mold and repair all the damage.

The space between our house and the neighbors retaining wall was very narrow on this side. Yet Basement Systems did not get any dirt or debris in the neighbors yard. They were using heavy equipment and some hand tools. I don't think that I could have done it by hand and not gotten lots of dirt in the neighbors yard ( their yard is below ours ) . Basement Systems were very nice , professional and really knew what they were doing. They even sent an email with a picture of the man coming to give an estimate. They left the yard in a very clean and pristine condition. I wish that all the people that I hired were as professional, good and clean as Premier Basement Systems.

.Premier was prompt and professional when working them on the phone - they responded quickly and provided clear information. Also, we were on a bit of a narrow timeline given the window we had between projects with our home remodel - they were able to quickly get the technician out to the house, meet our requests with an installation approach that avoided drywall damage, and then installed the system without issue within a few days. The installation team arrived on time and and executed the full plan - courteous and professional, it was a positive experience from start to finish. Behind the scenes their office team was communicating very clearly and promptly to arrange availability and meetings, send information and forms in advance and was available to answer questions.
Description of Work: Premier completed installing a Radon Mitigation system in our home's basement - this included systems in two different areas of our basement, including a dirt filled crawl space.

We had water seepage off and on for 5 years. Could not find the reason. We had french drains put in outside. But Premier Basement came out and found the source which was a crack in the foundation. Previous owner had done a DIY job that was a joke. Premier Basement was professional and did a great job.

We bought the simple radon detection test and found that we had a serious radon problem. Our test restults came back at 50 pc vs. the 4 that is allowed. I got three estimates from radon abatement companies. While all of the do work in this area and are licensed, Premier Basements is local. (One contractor services all of Idaho and the other is based out of Spokane.) Also, they matched another contractor's slightly lower rice and were available sooner to start the work. They put in the system as promised and did a great job. They kept the worksite clean and cleaned up after themselves when they were done. Unfortunatlely, the system they put in didnt' bring our radon level down enough. They were reading about 9 with the new system. HOWEVER, Premier Basements guarantees their work, so they came back and put a bigger fan on the system and retested. They got the levels down to 0.4, which we were very happy with. Our dealings with Monte, Heather, and the two installers were excellent. They area ll professionals and did their jobs well. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for radon abatement work. I would also give them a call if I had a wet basement or needed other work in their areas of expertise. We were very satisfied. Mary
Description of Work: They installed a radon abatement system in our basement, ran the piping so it was the least obtrusive and installed the fan outside. They also tested the system several times to be sure our levels were less than the recommended maximum.

We got a second opinion with a person that tore off some sheet rock and found there was no cement behind this wall, just dirt. He made a cement barrier and poblem was gone--500 dollars. Timbercreek didn't even check this out, they went immediately to the high cost solution. Watch your wallet when you deal with them. This is what angie's list is for--to steer clear of guys like this.
Description of Work: They came out to look at some water that was in our basement and close to our furnace. They gave an estimate of about 3,000 dollars with 60% chance of working where they put in a thick platic barrier. If that did not work, they would recommend a sump pump for a total of 5,000.

Response from Premier Basement Systems
We would like to apologize if you felt we were trying to take advantage of any situation to your detriment. The conditions that exist with in your basement however, are not as simple as you make them sound. When an on site review was conducted, it WAS observed that there was no foundation wall under the framed wall (in this situation one would not be required as it is not a bearing wall) but since adding concrete to concrete makes a cold joint that is very difficult to seal against water, it is not a solution that can be guaranteed for the long term. That is why adding concrete under that wall was not offered. Verification of this type of water intrusion is simple by looking at the other side of your basement that has a slab to foundation connection that is also leaking. Simply adding a concrete wall next to your slab is not a guarantee against water intrusion. Water can migrate through a penetration much smaller than a gap the size of a cold joint. The solutions we offer are permanent solutions. We will not offer you a $ 500.00 solution that MAY work, in your case we offered a $ 3000.00 solution that we know WILL work. The solution you chose may work, but you may not know for a year or more, depending on the water cycles. However, the one that was offered to you we had confidence you would not have to deal with ever again. To restate what we said in the beginning, we apologize if you feel we were being opportunistic with you, and we sincerely hope your solution will work, but have reservations that you may have spent $500.00 on something that may not provide a permanent solution. Sincerely, Timbercreek Northwest Inc. www.timbercreeknorthwest.com

Angie's List local representative researched and found 3 companies that I might select from. Timbercreek promptly returned my phone call and scheduled a time at my convenience to come to the house. They arrived exactly at 10:00 am as promised, and answered our questions fully. My wife asked about cracks in the floor, and the agent explained they could be filled for cosmetic purposes but that it was not necessary to do so. We agreed to a price and he completed the job in less than an hour. The system he used involves installing several injection ports into the basement side of the foundation wall, then pumping in the sealant until we could see it had filled the crack completely and had extruded somewhat from both sides of the foundation. The extrusion that was visible on the exterior of the wall was easily removed after it had set. No muss, no fuss, and a five-year guarantee!
Description of Work: The company uses an injection port system that pumps sealant to fill a crack in the foundation wall that was allowing water to seep into the basement during rainy periods. The sealant created a closed-cell foam that completely sealed the crack.
