Description of Work: We had a driveway replaced and it was suggested to pin the driveway to the foundation to prevent movement. With an explanation of why and how the small increase in price was well worth it. And it can add to the resale value. The job was done in a timely order and with care.

Description of Work: Twiss Construction was subcontracting through B&G Plumbing to do a bathroom remodel to make it handicap accessible but they also agreed to provide the necessary proposal breakdown and drawings of before and after the work so that we could submit a grant proposal to VA to pay for $2,000 toward the project. Initially Brian was very friendly and helpful but as we approached the deadline for submitting our proposal Brian submitted a lump sum bid with no itemized detail, no photos, no drawings and no dimensions, all required to apply for VA money. At the 11th hour I pleaded with P&G to get the drawings and dimensions from Brian to no avail and I submitted the proposal with a rough sketch as best I could with no photos or dimensions. On 4/16 I called Brian and asked for itemized detail because I thought $4,600 was too high for his part of the job. He told me couldn't get it to me until 4/19 and he is scheduled to start 4/22! I thought this was absurd so I called another contractor, who I hadn't talked to before because he is not registered with VA, and he agreed to do the same work for $1,700!!! Today I received notice that VA declined the grant because they were not convinced there was a safety issue in the bathroom as is because there were no dimensions. They only meet once a month so that means we would have to resubmit with the dimensions and real drawing and couldn't start until mid-late May. All the while my dad is in the hospital waiting to return home as soon as the work I done. Obviously we had to take another course! Buyers beware of working with this company. The quality of his work may be excellent but he overpromises and underperforms and in our case is more than double the price.
