After the initial visit with Dennis, I was told 1-2 weeks for job completion. I called after nearly 3 weeks because I was going out of town and wondered about the project. Dirk contacted me and I reviewed the project with him and gave him permission to complete the work while I was gone. I let my house sitter know. I obviously don't know when they arrived to do the work, or how long they worked, but my lawn application person texted me to let me know trees were being trimmed so he would do my lawn the next day. Next day he texted again that the tree folks were there cleaning thing up. I was a bit shocked when I saw the trees...they were pretty well cut. I also saw that the branches I had cut from other trees were still there. Dennis told me to just leave them and they would chip them. I called and Dirk stopped by later that day and we visited. He explained why the trees had to be trimmed so much and he apologized for forgetting the branches. He took them with him and urged me to call back with any further concerns or questions. While I think they did a fairly good job, The cost seemed a bit much. I tried to get other bids but it must be a busy time of the year - no one else even called back.

The service responded promptly to my call and arranged a date for the work according to my schedule. The guys who did the work were professional and safety conscious. Unfortunately the leaves had started dropping and they missed a couple small dead limbs that I wanted removed and had left my house before I noticed. The crew hauling the branches to the chipper got most of the branches but were a bit careless in how they handled them, knocking down the chicken wire fence around my garden. Since my biggest trees are dying, I'm sure I'll have these guys back in the future. I'll just watch them more closely.

The owner gave me an extended education on trees and types etc... Was great info. Owner spent a lot of time going over everything and his opinion on what we should do.

I have used Top Notch many times. They have always been professional and willing to work within my schedule and budget. They do excellent work.

I called for an estimate for trimming several trees for the church where I am a minister. The estimate I received was $800. After the work was done, the church received a bill for $2200. When I asked about the discrepancy, they said that the estimate of $800 was for just one tree. I asked why they would do an estimate for just one tree when I wanted several trees trimmed and was told that most people just want to do one tree, not all that need to be done, so they were just guessing at what I would want and did the estimate based on that guess, rather than the conversation we had. I had said at the time of the estimate that I knew that estimates were approximate, so they insisted that I gave them free reign, whatever the cost. They admitted that they should have done an estimate based on what I said I wanted, rather than the guess, but otherwise, they didn't give or compromise at all. Because I was trying to talk to them about the bill and delayed paying it, they dropped by to talk about it, made an appointment because I was busy, and then didn't show for the actual time we were supposed to talk. Eventually we just paid the $2200 (a major dent in a church budget), but I would never, ever use them again and would not recommend them.

They were the best! But it took about 3 weeks from the time of the estimate to the day they came to do the work. Once they did the work, however, their professionalism was top-notch! They left no branches on the street or in my yard. The trees look great and are healthy.

They were great. They were prompt and professional. The price was reasonable. I would use them in the future.

It's a family business. We had a little problem last year with the yard. They stood behind it. They have come out and given us free service. They have called this year to make sure the yard came back ok, and it did. They are very competitive with pricing.

Dirk came out and gave me an estimate to take out an unwanted tree. He then took the time to walk around my property with me and tell me how to prune my trees to have the most success in fruit and flower growth. He explained how to tell if my trees were healthy and showed me where they weren't. He made some recommendations how to fix problems. He was very kind and explained things well. I appreciated that he took the time to answer my questions and really knew what he was talking about. He also made recommendations that would help my trees without breaking the bank and even gave me tips on how to care for them to reduce the need to call a service to take care of them. I was very impressed.
