L & K Carpet One Floor & Home

Carpet One did some work in my house in my basement. The carpet and craftsmanship were excellent. I am very pleased with the work that they did. However, I was quite disappointed in a certain element of professionalism displayed by the company as a whole. The work took two days and I had to work while they were at my house doing their work. I gave them a copy of my house keys so they could come and go as they pleased. When the work was complete, I found that they had removed my bathroom door and one of the bedroom doors and found them laying in my laundry room. There was no communication as to why they were left that way. I thought to myself, maybe it was just a simple oversight and they forgot to reinstall them. I hung the doors and quickly discovered that the carpet had changed the clearance between the door and the floor such that the doors could not be opened or closed without a significant amount of force. This would, over time, damage both the door and the carpet. It was at this point that I realized why they did not put the doors back where they found them. I was then quite upset that this had not communicated to me in any way, shape, or form. I brought this up with the sales person and I was told the typical, "We're sorry, We're sorry, We're sorry..." Unfortunately, "We're sorry" is not acceptable. It may be acceptable for 3rd-grade children on the playground, but in a capitalistic society by a company that claims they are "Professional", it is absolutely rubbish. Actions speak louder than "I'm Sorry". How about offering me a discount or in store credit? Nope! NO such offer. Take it for what it is worth.

They worked with our insurance company and was able to work it so that what the insurance company made available on the claim was exactly what they are going to charge us. They haven't completed the work yet since they have only been on the job for 4 days but what is being done is exceptional. The installer is polite, professional, and understanding of our needs. The installer, Chad, plans on working everyday, including weekends, to get it done as quickly as possible.

They have real good carpet layers. Of course, it is twelve years ago, but they took their time and they had a really quality product that does not wear out.
