I called Ron's cell phone which was provided to me, I left a message regarding the work I needed completed and told him it was not ergent. In about an hour I received a call, I explained in detail the work to be done and he stated it is an hour job and his minimum hourly charge is $80. I asked how soon he could come, he said he would be free after lunch and suggest 1 or 2pm. I told him 1pm would be good, he showed up at my house at 1:05PM. Ron was very professional and completed the job is just under an hour. Due to the differences in shape between the old fixture and the new fixture, he had to make modifications to the carpet and flooring, he completed these tasks perfectly and left the site in very good shape. No clean up was required. Ron is honest, very professional and very knowledgable regarding the work he performed. He is now my new permanent plumber. He is highly recommended.
Description of Work: Due to my knee surgery, I had to have an elevated toilet installed so I would be able to get off it easier. In order to get exactly the toilet I wanted, I purchased it myself. When I reviewed the installation instructions it became very obvious that I would not be able to install it myself. I called my regular plumber only to be left hanging for three days with no response. I began going thru the telephone book to try and find a plumber at a reasonable price who was not "fly by night", in a rural area this is a difficult task, I quickly found out. I received two quotes from local plumbing business that were more than the cost of the toilet. For someone who knows their business, installing a toilet over an existing fixture takes about an hour, or less. I received quotes from $100 to $150 which seemed to be rather high. One local plumber whom I have known in the past was not even willing to provide a quote, he just said his rate is $78 and the job could take 2 hours or more, nice. I finally came across a retired plumber who suggested I contact Ron Thoren who is not listed in the phone book.
