We bought a fixer-upper home with no garage and after receiving several estimates on having a garage installed, we settled on Mangum's Concrete. Lou showed up for the estimate with dirt on his boots which to me was a good sign because I knew his estimate and advice were first-hand. He struck me as honest and true and it ends up that I was correct. Lou not only did a great job on every aspect of the project, from planning to excavating to finishing the job, he also removed a large tree from our property, leveled out our pasture, and spread new gravel on our driveway. If he was not there personally to oversee the work, he arrived after each phase of the job to check on progress, even going so far as to require his crew to re-do an entire afternoon's work which was not done to his satisfaction. I doubt if his crew appreciated it, but I sure did. Not too long after construction, our area was hit by a hail storm with baseball-sized hail and winds that tipped over trees. The garage proved to be solid and sturdy and was no worse for the storm. It has been several months since construction, and we have had no problems whatsoever. The garage we chose is 24x36 feet. It is insulated in walls and roof and has an electric garage door, 2 windows, several electrical outlets and outdoor lighting, a concrete apron, and man door with a roof over it. Lou would be my first choice if we ever need anything like this done again, and he has already been back to our place to deliver gravel for another project we are working on. He is no nonsense and easy to work with.
Description of Work: Lou Mangum and his crew constructed a 24x36 insulated pole garage on our property. His price included construction and all materials as well as several other jobs on our property as outlined in my comments.

We had no idea Mr. Magnum's business was located in Orofino, Idaho, which is a city approximately forty-five miles from our home site in Clarkston, Washington. Mr. Magnum gave us a verbal bid of five to seven thousand dollars. we said, Okay, do the work. He had the concrete about two-thirds poured and left the job site. When the house was approximately less than two weeks from delivery,we got excited and called the salesman and asked if he would find out when Mr. Magnum planned on finishing the concrete. he came right out and said he thought the job was done. He got the concrete there the next day and as it was being poured it began to rain. It rained hard for almost a week, and Mr. Magnum never covered the concrete, just left it uncovered the whole time. As a result the concrete began to pill almost immmediately. So, we have two thrids of our concrete looking like it is fifteen or twenty years old and looks terrible, plus it is hard for me to walk in, as I am handicapped. We told him the reason we wanted as much concrete as we did was becauuse of my walking difficulties. Then we got the bill.... it was for $20,000,00. We couldn't believe it. My wife called the salesman who recommended him and told him about the situation and asked him to intervene on our behalf. He did so. My wife called Mr. Magnum and he got angry and told her never to call him again. He said that was a lot of concrete. But he never gave us a yardage count or anything. So, beware, get it in writing. Don't be a nice guy and trust the person who you are dealing with.
Description of Work: We contacted Mr. Magnum in July of 2010. We had ordered and purchased a new modular home and we needed concrete work and a handicap ramp built to access our back door. He was recommended by the salesman we bought our house from.
