The builder will be fixing the appliance installation, without the "help" they were hoping to get from Quality Appliance.
Description of Work: When I discovered I couldn’t change the light bulb in my Bosch microwave oven because it had been installed contrary to the manufacturer’s specifications, I reported it to the builder who immediately started giving me the run-around. While waiting for a response from them, I learned directly from the manufacturer that Bosch Factory Service Technicians (like Quality Appliance) are NOT AUTHORIZED to make an evaluation of the installation itself - they service appliances, nothing else. Bosch confirmed that my problem was an installation issue to resolve with the builder and/or city building officials. While the builder continued to stonewall me, I contacted the City’s mechanical inspection supervisor. He came to the house and observed the cabinet above the appliance blocking normal access to the microwave compartment that needs to be opened (like the owner manual says) in order to change the light bulb or the charcoal filter. There were other safety concerns about the incorrect installation as well. The city inspector phoned the builder about the installation, and ONLY THEN did the builder agree to come to my house to inspect the problem. When the builder’s rep showed up for the inspection, two Quality Appliance (Bosch certified) service techs were with him. None of them knew that the city’s inspector was there for the meeting as well. Clearly the builder’s rep was sharp enough to realize that he and the Quality Appliance techs were not going to be able to “scare” me (read on) out of insisting the builder make corrections to the installation, especially with a city building official right there to hear it, so he proceeded to talk to me about correcting the problem. However, the two men from Quality Appliance, Dustin and Billy, were not as sharp. Dustin proceeded to tell me and the inspector that my new microwave would probably need replacing in five years (five years?), and unless I replaced it with the same exact Bosch model, that other brands with new/different dimensions would likely not fit in the spot if corrections were made to the current (defective) installation. He also told me that owners should not change the light bulbs in the microwave oven because it’s very dangerous (even though the owner’s manual includes instructions on how to change both the bulb and filter). He said he’d been in the business for 14 years and told me how an encounter he had with a microwave oven BLEW THE TIP OFF HIS FINGER!! He told me that the light bulb would probably last the life of the appliance, and if it did go out that I should call an authorized Bosch tech to have them change it. He also said that if owners change their own light bulbs it voids the Bosch warranty. I told him there’s no mention of that in the owner’s manual, and he said “trust me” it’s printed behind the vent grill (where, conveniently, it couldn't be seen because it’s blocked). I stood there in utter disbelief as I listened to a so-called certified Bosch service technician **** out a line of cockamamie scare tactics to advocate for keeping the defective installation the way it was, so his friend the builder wouldn’t have to fix it . . . in exchange for what I wonder? I didn’t believe a single word he said, so I phoned Bosch and spoke with Jonathan Brooks there, who told me that not one thing Dustin told the inspector and me was true. NOT ONE THING. And he wasn’t happy. The unethical builder wanted Quality Appliance to masquerade as a "Bosch professional” and overstep the boundaries of the independent third-party repair service they provide Bosch, lie about the Bosch warranty, and otherwise try to scare me with tales of exploding fingers in order to talk me out of the fix – and Quality Appliance was more than happy to participate in the UNSCRUPULOUS PLOY. If you expect honesty and integrity from your appliance repairman, this is not the company to call. And at the very least, you want an appliance repairman that's smart enough to turn off the power before he lets a microwave oven blow the tip off his finger.

Description of Work: They expect customers to sign a waiver clearing company of any liability of damages to our property caused by their technicians. ANY damage... i'm shocked anyone would sign this waiver. This company clearly refuses to stand behind the work and character of their technicians and i have serious issues with that. Really makes you question the service you'll be receiving. This company did not service my appliance because I would not sign their waiver

The repair went well and was done quickly and cleanly. The towel used was left in the refrigerator when the technician (Nate) left. The base cost of the repair was as stated when the appointment was made of $75.00. But...when the technician told me the cost he stated that they asked for at tip of $30.00, I said I had not heard of that, but he persisted and ask for it in cash. I stated I was paying by credit card and he said it could be added to the card as a tip. At this point he stopped cleaning up his tools and laptop and waited for me to respond. I said I did not think I had cash and he again stated it could be put on the card. He was very determined that I would give him a 'tip' of $30.00 as if it was required. I, being a petite female, felt trapped because it was very clear by his non-action that he was not leaving without it, either cash or on a credit card. I retrieved cash and paid the $75.00 with a card just wanting to get him out of my home as quickly as possible. The next day I called to office to explain my situation and when I asked if it was customary to tip a service technician, a women supervisor stated that it was up to me. I stated I had never heard of this practice before as well as my feelings of being taken advantage of and used and intimidated to pay the extra. She told me that this technician (Nate) did not usually behave that way but that she would bring this to a supervisor attention and it would be discussed with the technician. She only offered a brief apology and not once did she ask what the company could do to make this right, in fact she seemed rushed to get of the telephone, I even heard a sigh from her, which in when I thanked her for her time and ended the call. I will not recommend them nor will I use them again.

The provider responded in a timely manner. The technician quickly determined the source of the leak. When he called the supplier to order the replacement part, there was considerable confusion about which part was being ordered. I had already looked up the part name and number on-line and was able to show the technician on my computer. He then gave the correct information to the supplier. It took a week for the part to arrive; the technician then installed it quickly and checked for leaks. The work was completed satisfactorily and at a fair price. I would use this provider's services again and recommend them.

Water dispenser in refrigerator wouldn't work. Had first service call in Dec after Christmas. Replaced water bladder. Second call on same issue came out checked everything, and still no water dispensed. Third call the owner came out and investigated. Found that evaporator was frozen over, it was de-thawed. He suggested that the evaporator and fan need to be replaced. A fourth appt was made to replace the evaporator. A technician showed up and looked at parts and said he was not certified to install closed systems. A fifth appt was made on Feb 1st to have the evaporator and fan replaced. The water dispensing was fixed but now the refrigerator was making loud popping noises multiple times during the day, this noise was not present before the service. I called the owner and expressed my displeasure with the length of time to fix the problem and the dissatisfaction with the noises. He agreed to come out and investigate the problem. This is the sixth visit! He investigated the problem, let out some refrigerant, he said that some sounds are natural because of expansion and contraction. I told him the sound were not present before the repair and they were very loud! I had the work done the refrigerator because it was less than a new model. However, I wish I would of saved the repair cost and put it towards a new model because the noises are constant and loud. I will not waste any more of my time or energy on trying to resolve this problem. I had used this company on repairs of my dishwasher and oven previously and was happy. However, I will not be using their services again. I was fair and patient, but my time and money is valuable!

He did an excellent job. I think the price was less than $30; it was not a serious problem. He was on time, and he always put protectors on before he came into the house. He was very professional, and his price was inexpensive. He also had the parts with him. I called them and they came out really quick.

I was pleased with how quickly Zack was able to come look at these appliances, but even more impressed with the amount of time he took. I never felt he was in a hurry to get to some other job, rather that my problem was the most important in the world. He took time to explain the problem and show me in detail what was going wrong. He wore booties in the house (thank you!), detailed all the options and prices, and then took explained how I might avoid forcing leaks from the dishwasher by loading it differently and using a lower-sudsing soap. Very attentive, prompt, and helpful.

Wonderful!
Description of Work: This man came originally to our-new to use home to check out the dryer-it wasn't getting hot. He carefully explained that we had the dryer set on the fluff/no heat setting. He could have fiddled and charged us/BUT INSTEAD he was VERY HONEST- NO charge on this one. He was also to check out the oven which wasn't shutting completely off. He had to order a new part. He called us and told us the price and asked if we wanted to order it. We ordered it. He was back at the designated time, installed the part and was gone. Very fast, very professional!!!
