It was an emergency, we called Saturday morning and were told that their trucks were full and that they couldn't get us taken care of until Monday morning. I called twice on Monday morning and was told that they didn't know when they could come and that it would be sometime between noon and 4:00. I work and have four kids home for spring break. I was clear that we were unable to use our plumbing. If they couldn't actually come out Monday morning, they should have told me so I could find someone who could.

I called hoping for an appointment in the next couple of days, since our tank is deep, and we had already gone to the great trouble of finding the lid. I didn't want a deep open hole in the front yard for a long time. I explained this, and the woman making appointments was very accommodating. She said she'd try to work us in that very day and would call if and when a truck could make it out. And one came that very day! It was a relief to have that over and done with - and no more safety hazard out front. I had called two other agencies that didn't have openings until the following week. One would have been $20 cheaper with the lid uncovered, and the other would have been a dollar more. So ABC was very competitive in price and won the day with speedy accommodation. The technician who came was professional and friendly.

I was having problems with the septic system. (Finally connected to the sewer), But ABC Sanitation pumped my system twice in four months and did it thoroughly and and on time. They made suggestions to extend the life of my system (caustic soda to clear the pipes), but I decided to hook up to city sewer. I would recommend their services to anyone needing them.

First trip was to pump septic tank and to install missing baffle. Went very well at what I considered a fair price. During this service, I discussed leach field age and effect of missing baffle had on the efficiency of the field. The technician seemed very knowledgeable and suggested use of a strong chemical to clean waste accumulated in leach field lines. What he said made sense, and was supported by research I did on internet. This work was pricey; but if it does what he claimed, we should be in good shape for years to come. My decision to proceed was based on trust of the technician's explanation, without a real method of proving efficacy of work done. My main complaint was the office person relaying overly optimistic times that the technician would arrive. It may not have been her fault, but I spent several hours waiting between the two visits.
