They did a fine job in a timely fashion and addressed any problems found in our 80 year old home.

**DO NOT HIRE SHAWN RENDON** We hired Rendon Construction for a full home remodel. Initially, Shawn Rendon was extremely professional and understood our needs. Work began on 9/13/2023 and was scheduled to be completed by 11/2/2023. At first, communication was great, and he even set us up with an app to view daily updates on our project. However, he only posted updates during the first few days. The demolition was prompt, and for the first couple of weeks, there were roughly 2-3 workers at the house throughout the day. Unfortunately, the workers often didnâ t know what they were supposed to be doing and would ask us for direction when we stopped by. After week two, there was only one worker (James) at the house, if anyone was there at all. It was his first and only time working for Shawn. James was overwhelmed and pulled in many directions due to Shawnâ s lack of oversight and poor project planning. Shawn often redirected James to work on other houses, including his own personal house. Shawn never once worked on our home himself. The most he ever did was haul away the trash dumpster. Shawn constantly made excuses and blamed us for issues like "our tile and grout selection," even though we picked tile from a store he recommended and only provided a grout color, not a specific product. Shawnâ s failure to order products on time caused delays, and we lost our selection for our kitchen countertops. We chose our countertops in September, but Shawn didn't order them until late November. Shawn constantly contradicted himself & his contradictions costs us thousands of dollars in addition to what was in our work order. He couldnâ t reconcile billing or keep up with change orders and invoices. He failed to apply payments properly and always had an excuse for everything. We had unapplied payments for months sitting in an untouched portal. In mid-December, six weeks after the contract should have been completed, Shawn claimed no workers had shown up because we hadnâ t paid him, even though he never sent an invoice. When he finally sent an invoice, we paid it the same day, despite the incomplete work. We always paid on time, per our contract that he failed to honor. The project dragged on until February. In the end, there was no "thank you for your business" or a final walk-through on our $95k project.

terrible communicator likes to do lots of change orders if by any chance you hire him make sure you write down everything you want him to do and make sure it is spelled out on the contract in detail, and that all the materials are not substandard. He likes to buy the cheapest materials. If he tells you something he is going to do, do not take his work make sure it is written down. His contracts leave room for interpretation.

One of the reasons we went with Rendon Construction was because of the customer service. Every time we call Shawn, he answers the phone. You never feel like a burden when you are asking questions or wanting to add/change. We did a full basement remodel, added two bedrooms and doubled the bathroom space. The finished look is beautiful and we are so happy. We will be looking into Rendon Construction to be remodeling our top floor now.

I am writing this review to prevent another homeowner from experiencing the same thing we did. If we could rate Rendon Construction a 0/5, we would. It has been a year since we initially started with Shawn Rendon and we continue to have to fix their work a year later. Shawn was contracted to perform a complete remodel of our new home and nearly every piece of the house they touched, we have had to hire someone else to fix. Similar to the review of Ryan N. (online), we also had significant delays with an initial June completion date that turned into August without completion before he was eventually fired after a blackwater flood occurred in our home (it was later found by a plumber that our sewage pipes were coated in plaster and other debris from materials dumped down our drains). The entire experience was a nightmare. You cannot make up the things we experienced from: degrading customer service, demands for money outside payment schedules, dumping of materials, leaving our home unlocked with doors left open after leaving the jobsite, leaving the jobsite trashed on a regular basis, not to mention he lost his license during a portion of our work which we found out from a post of Vickie (online) and verified with the CSLB. He is a very sly individual. Please ensure you take the time to research the contractors license if you decide to use him as his license has been riddled with complaints and currently has 2 showing. Please do not make the same mistake as us by using this man and his company. Also be aware, shortly after our experience, he up and moved his company to Idaho.

The price was great and quality was as expected. It was competed in a timely manner which was what I expected

I'm still only part through the process so my reviews are based on initial bid and relatively few change orders so far. I will update when process is done.

Kitchen Remodel-No protection of your furniture, floors, other furnishing surrounding construction project. You must provide all protection of all your belongings for yourself BEFORE they start if you want any protection. They highly over-estimate the schedule of project and are late on everything. You wait and wait for them. I am still in middle of project, so I don't know end. My living room is filled with cabinets and dishwasher. Wasn't supposed to be that way! Poor clean up, too!

Owner was very flexible and able to amend the project and contract on numerous items to add additional work at my request. I really like that the owner communicated with me on a daily basis the status of the work and requested I approve every change to the contract in a timely manner. Also sent me regular invoices of amount due and flexible on payment plan for the project.

I am very satisfied with their work.
