Description of Work: I called PEA to finish installing my tile underlayment when my back started hurting. I called PEA to finish the underlayment, install tile and grout. I appreciated that PEA was eager to do the job, their price was fair, and they didn't mind using materials I had already bought. They were friendly, worked fast and clean, and did the job well. Good communication by text message and phone along the way. I would definitely recommend them for tile work!

He wanted to come in the evening but I told him I preferred that he come to see my project during the daytime when it is light enough to see it well. He agreed and said that he would call me back. He didn't call so I called him again thinking perhaps he had lost my phone number. He made an appointment with me for today, Saturday 9/19 at 9 AM. It is now nearly 10 AM with no call and no show. Naturally, I have no intention of giving him the opportunity to present a bid for my project as he is completely unreliable and has wasted my time. Apparently, he does not believe my time to have any value.

+ -1 moreHe totally went bad on me because he didn't show up to do the work. He couldn't call to let me know because I was sitting here waiting for him to do the work. He couldn't guarantee but he thought we had mold on our tile which go behind the wall. He was late when he got here.

We highly recommend him to anyone looking to remodel their home, we will, without reservation use his services again if we need additional work done.
Description of Work: We had Pedro remodel out Master Bath, install a whirlpool tub, radiant heating in the floor, and tile the walk in shower and floor throughout the bathroom. Additionally we had him tile the laundry room floor, guest bath floor and upstairs bathroom floor. The tub and radient heating installation required him to run electric to the main circuit breaker to provide the power for the tub, tub heater and floor.

Description of Work: We had a tile shower in our on-suite that had apparently been leaking for quite some time. We ended up with water damage and mold to the sub-floor and studs behind the sheet rock. Upon demolition we realized the extent of the damage and brought our home insurance to bear to fix it This ended up in the complete shower replacement as well as all of the floor tiles in the bathroom. Pedro was a consummate professional, well versed in years of experience doing construction work and was able to do the entire job all by himself, from wood replacement, to tile and grout work that turned out much better than original. He worked with us to think of new and creative tile accents and even replaced the shower door with a really nice rain glass effect. We were amazed at his work ethic and every day we came home the entire area was cleaned up after the days work. We would definitely work with Pedro again, it was a great experience.

+ -1 moreWe wanted to upgrade out existing shower from a preformed surround to tile and stone. Pedro gave us an great bid for the work with us purchasing the materials. He offered ideas about where to buy and we were able to get his discount for the tiles. He arrived right on time the first day of work. He set up tarps and plastic to protect our floors throughout the house that would be affected by his work. He was efficient and extremely tidy in all his work. Once he began for the day, he worked all through the day. We never saw him eat or take a break. The rest of our home was unaffected by this project. His tools and the project were always neatly cleaned up at the end of each day. He asked questions as to what our preferences were for the look of the shower. When he encountered problems with the valves we had ordered, he let us know immediately so we could solve the problem. We also ran into a unexpected mold problem requiring the removal of the subfloor. This added to the scope of our project with him having to remove floor tiles and the subfloor. You would never know that had been done to look at the room now. There is a little language barrier at times and we did have a communication problem about the look of one shower shelves. Once we were both on the same page, he immediately took out tiles and grout to give me what I wanted without complaint. He even, stated, "If you are happy, I am happy". We would (and have) recommended him to anyone wanting an honest contractor with a great work ethic who is reasonably priced and does excellent work.
Description of Work: Removed existing shower surround and door. Replaced with tile and stone with upgraded fixtures.

I had the misfortune of contacting that business to have a bathtub demolition and walk-in tub and surround installed. The date and time for the meeting the following week was agreed upon with the business owner, Mr. Tena. Mr. Tena never showed up for the appointment, nor did he have the courtesy to call me to reschedule. Anyone wanting a reliable contractor for any project should steer clear of PEA.

+ 3 moreI contacted PEA construction using Angie's List as my reference. My first call was answered and Pedro agreed to come look at my project and give me an estimate. I was up against a tight time frame which luckily fit into PEA's schedule very well. Pedro arrived on time and gave me an estimate that seemed very reasonable. Since my schedule wasn't flexible I agreed to use PEA immediately. We agreed on a start time and he told me how much of each tile material he was going to need for each bathroom. He even suggested where to buy the most economical tile which is exactly where I purchased from. Pedro showed up exactly when he said he would and layer down protective coverings for the wood and carpet floors where he was going to walk on. Pedro carefully removed all of the old materials from each bathroom and minimized the demolition residue so the house stayed as clean as possible with major construction work going on in the home. Early on in the project there was a change that required additional work so that our new shower door would fit properly. Pedro worked with the shower door rep. very well and they agreed on what changes would be required. Pedro did exactly what was needed and didn't charge me more for that change (I paid him a TIP to hopefully cover that extra work). Pedro was in my home for about two weeks. Some days were longer (6-7 hours) and some days shorter (1-2 hours). Every day Pedro picked up the areas he worked in and stored his tools out of the way. Pedro is a friendly man and we hit if off immediately. I often times had to leave Pedro in my home alone to run errands but I never felt uncomfortable doing it. Pedro and my Yellow Lab became good friends during the time he was here. The end results were outstanding and we are very happy with our new bathrooms. I would definitely use PEA again. PS...my daughter was having her bathroom remodeled around the same time and she asked PEA to complete her tile work based on the excellent job Pedro did at my home. Pedro was able to fit her job in the following week and they are also very happy with the quality of work PEA does and his price.

+ 5 moreI provided tile, grout, paint in order to match properly. I bought the washer connection box in order to save some time, and money. Pedro and Abraham did excellent work. They are respectful, and efficient. I admire that Pedro recognizes what the problem is when it comes to poor construction. He really wants to do the job correctly, not to cut corners. That way there will be no problems in the future. He allotted 3 days for the job. He finished early afternoon on the 3rd day. I plan on hiring him on future jobs at our new house.
Description of Work: Tore up 3 bathrooms worth of tile then anchored the subfloor properly. They then laid all the tile again properly. I had about 15 feet of ceiling cracks, and cracks under 3 windows he fixed. I painted them. He replaced the drywall, and washer connection box behind washer/ dryer. I painted.

He came with his helper and left after a half day to complete the project when the tile was settled the next a.m. The project was completed to our full satisfaction. The construction is solid and the tile is beautifully laid in the adjacent shower step area. Replacement of the tile and underlay in the shower window is perfect. My wife is a perfectionist and she is quite pleased with Pedro, his helper and the work. That says it all.
Description of Work: Pedro gave us a prompt estimate following an inspection of our shower area which sustained water damage to the wood flooring base and the tile which rested on it. We also needed the underlay and tile in the shower window replaced. We then went out to find matching tile as requested and called Pedro to do the work.

+ 3 moreExcellent hey were cheerful workers, showed up on time, and were very neat and respectful of our house and our time. We loved them and will use them again for a few more jobs. The time estimate was 5 days and they were done in 3.5 days. They came in the first day and laid out their trail upstairs and downstairs to my two bathrooms, taping down a paper/plastic floor for them to walk on so they didn't mess up my floors. We've never seen a neater, cleaner job and they vacuumed thoroughly before going home in the evening. They worked all day long with a 30 minute lunch break, always happy. They even managed to install a neighbor's toilet while they were here the last day. Honest, hard working, and pride of a job well done!
Description of Work: Pedro and his assistant, Juan, were the absolute best. They removed an old tub enclosure and replaced it with porcelain wall tiles that I purchased on my own, excellent job, and they left the bathroom spotless. They also replaced 2 toilets in all and in another bathroom they ripped out the old floor and replaced it with porcelain floor tiles, which I had purchased. They also did all the plumbing on shower and new vanity which they installed, too..

I was able to receive the estimate for the Solar tube and it was really reasonable. I never received an estimate from him for the addition. I contacted him and he said that he thought his wife had sent it and that it would he would get it sent. I never received the estimate for the addition. I have tried to contact him numerous times, but have not heard back from him. I wonder if the company has closed.
Description of Work: He came out to give us an estimate to do a small addition at our home, to change out a cabinet piece on our sink, and gave us a quote to install a solar tube.

Everything was immaculate when he left. The overall experience was excellent. He was punctual, responsive, and professional.

Description of Work: Lower set of tiles around bathtub needed to be replaced to prevent the walls behind from water damage. Description of Work: NOTE: We hired this contractor to do several remodel jobs spread out over 1 1/2 years. Along with the jobs listed below, contractor cut out a large section of an office wall, re-framed it and inserted an air-conditioner. Also, framed and hung two windows on the same wall. He finished another shop office by putting in a ceiling. He also painted the kitchen, living room, and hall walls and ceilings. And, he replaced molding throughout the house and cut off two stone mantle ledges from the fireplace front. Outside, contractor replaced awning, gutters and wood sashes. So, the price listed covers all labor and supplies for these projects. Great job. RE: Bathroom/plumbing/etc. This contractor remodeled two of our bathrooms. He tore out existing showers, tub, all plumbing, and flooring. He hauled off everything that accumulated from the project--EVERYTHING! This was great news to us, because we didn't have a way to get it to the dump. In one bathroom a full remodel of the shower enclosure had to be done. Both BR's were redone in tile--the floors, walls and tops of existing cabinet tops, including back-splash. New toilets and sinks/sink fixtures were also installed. A lighted wall cabinet was installed in the smaller bathroom. Contractor was very careful about cleanup and placed plastic drop-cloths on the floor throughout his work area. Each evening, he neatly arranged his work tools and supplies out of the way and either swept or vacuumed. I was very impressed with his attention to details. Even when work was done outside (cutting tiles, etc.), he was fastidious about the cleanup. RE: Kitchen remodel/plumbing Contractor covered existing counter top (old Formica) with tile, including back-splash up to beneath cabinets. Also placed tile behind kitchen range and along all cabinet walls beneath the cabinets. It turned out beautifully! A porcelain sink, sink fixtures and food disposal were installed, which required all new plumbing. This job was done expertly. (And we've never seen a leak!) He tore out an old wall structure in the dining room and replaced it with new insulation, drywall, molding and new paint. He installed a new fan in the dining room.

+ 4 morePedro's bid was most complete and least expensive of any bid for labor ($2100) (The next lowest bid was $3400 for installation of water jet bathtub and wall liner. The subflooring and reflooring would have been sub-contracted out.) The materials we bought with Pedro's assistance, making the whole job $3900. The one delay was getting his recommendations to us. It was well worth the wait. All three of his recommendation raved about his work. One was from a professional real estate manager and another from a subcontractor who uses Pedro often. We called him Wednesday and he was on the job the next Monday. (He estimated the job would take 10 days.) The first surprise came the first day. The house and bathroom were totally clean, with the only sign that he was there was no tub and exposed studs. He came on Tuesday for several hours, exposing the sub-flooring and installing insulation behind the shower and installing no mold dry wall. He had to leave because of a problem with one of his suppliers, which was settled in the afternoon. Again, the house and work-site was clean. Wednesday, the sub-flooring and toilet were removed, and the sub-flooring replaced and sealed. The shower walls were completely tiled. Thursday and Friday saw the floor tiled and the toilet installed Friday (an answer to prayer and Pedro's working overtime Friday.) He worked 1/2 day Saturday, getting the sink installed and most of the tile work on the vanity layed down. Monday he finished the tiling with sealing. The job was finished by 3 in the afternoon, 4 days short of the estimated time. We felt fortunate to have found Pedro and will hire him for several more jobs.
Description of Work: Took out existing bathtub and wall liner. Installed water jet tub with plumbing. Replaced sub-flooring because of moisture beneath tub and toilet. Replaced toilet and sink on vanity, installing new faucets and re-plumbing same. Tilled the shower walls, vanity (about 4.5 ' by 2.5') with splash backing. All tile work had hand done designs as part of job. Tiled and sealed floor in entire bathroom.
