+ -1 moreThey were punctual and responsive to calls and emails. Work took two days in different weeks, and they came and left on time. They left the areas tidy after they were done. They were careful around skylights, can-lighting, vents, and so on. When roofers came later to replace our roof, they wanted to know who did the insulation because the job was so well done. They took the contact information for Marv's Insulation so they could recommend them to their customers who asked for referrals to insulation installers.
Description of Work: Blew in foam insulation and put down additional insulation in attic and crawl space.

+ -1 moreI received an estimate and after deciding to move forward I was wanting to insulate as soon as possible. They were booked but found time to work this in between other clients. Job took approximately 4 hours. The workers cleaned everything up leaving the place just as they found it.

+ -1 moreWe recently purchased a home that was built in 1978. Our Home Inspector pointed out some deficiencys in the insualtion department. After reviewing Angie's List, I decided to give Marv's Insulation a try. Very responsive, Brent was out within a few days to give us an estimate and make recomendations. It was a fair price for the work being done so we arranged an installment date. The crew was prompt and efficient. We are doing several improvements on the home and insulation is not very exciting but it is so worth it over time. I would recomend Marv's to anyone thinking of improving the comfort of thier home.
Description of Work: Added R-19 Fiberglass insulation to attic to bring it up to an R-39, added black ground to cover to bare dirt in crawl space and added mastic duct seal to the joints of the heat ducts.

Our attic insulation had not been touched since the house was built in 1977. the gentlemen who did the job were very professional and quickly did what they needed to do. They were fast, but clean and courteous when they had to come through the house. Very careful about where the tubes to blow the insulation were placed and provided a minimum of fuss. I am very happy about the work.

+ -1 moreWe picked Marv's because of Angie's List reviews, and found the rating was well deserved. The responded promptly, gave a quote quickly, and did the work in a timely manner. We have an attached 2 1/2 car garage and got the outside walls plus ceiling with extra insulation done under $600. Now our (unheated or cooled) garage is never under 50 in the winter or over 80 in the 100+ heat of summer. Worth every penny!

Description of Work: Increased insulation in the attic. They also insulated the furnace ductwork in the crawl space and insulated the exposed foundation in the crawl space to help decrease heat loss at the end of the house furtherest from the furnace.

+ -1 moreThe person doing the estimate was prompt, courteous and very knowledgeable on the products available. He made a recommendation on what to install and scheduled a time for the installation. The two people doing the installation were on time and courteous. They were Hispanic and I don't think they spoke much English. However they were efficient and cleaned up any debris after they were done. So far we are about the same on energy use, I was expecting to start using less. We'll see what happens in the summer.

+ -1 moreWe had a local pest ccontrol company come and spray our house for carpenter ants. The pest control company used so much water under the house there began to have a smell, after contacting several different providers, I looked for insulation companies on Angie's list and contacted Marv's. The employee came to the home, was on time, provided a very detailed explanation of the problem and an estimate on the repair. We were able to start with one step, and see if that fixed the smell before going to the next step. Marv's employees were on time, quick and friendly. Marv's was VERY reasonable priced and I liked how they kept us informed during the entire process. I would Definitely recommend them and will continue to use them.
Description of Work: Marv's came out and looked at the job, provided an estimate which was broken into "stages" so we could do one stage at a time until the problem was rectified.

+ -1 moreThe sales associate arrived on time, explained our current insulation situation, made two suggestions for improving the overall comfort in our home. Turns out our attic was significantly underinsulated. We ended up going with the highest grade insulation although we were given two very affordable options. He provided us with a proposal and a crew came out the next week to install the insulation. I received a bill two weeks later for the exact amount of the proposal. The crew was neat and clean and arrived on time. We purchased this house 7 years ago and our upstairs has always been miserably hot in the summer. After the insulation there is no difference in temperature between upstairs and downstairs. Best money I ever spent on our home.

They were professional from the initial consultation through installation, even a couple of callbacks for issues unrelated to their originals scope of work. They were very reasonably priced. They increased the insulation in the crawl spaces of the church, insulated a knee wall between a high ceiling dining area and a kitchen. We called them back to insulate HVAC ducts in an attic crawlspace to minimize cooling loss from the AC unit to the last office along the line and to add insulation for sound proofing in spaces in the ceiling our basement after new HVAC equipment was installed.
Description of Work: When my church decided to upgrade the facility for energy efficiency we chose Marv's Insulation to add insulation to our crawlspace and knee walls. Their sales staff was professional, they listened to what we wanted made excellent recommendations and worked with us and Idaho Power to maximize efficiencies and realize the greatest incentives. The installers worked quickly and thoroughly. After the installation they responded quickly to issues unrelated to their original scope of work.

Description of Work: Marv's insulated the ducts in our crawlspace - a nasty, claustrophobic job. We'd gotten an estimate of $1,000 from Handyman Connections, which seemed really high so we checked Angie's list and called Marv's. Marv did it for less than a third of the price and did a great job. Antonio, the foreman, asked me to look at the work when it was finished and I was impressed with the quality. And the gentleman who came to give us our estimate also checked the attic to see if we need to add insulation there. I figured we did because it was 24 years old, but he said it was a kind of insulation that didn't lose its R value as it settled and that we were fine. He could easily have sold us insulation we didn't need, but he didn't. Fair prices, good work and honesty. Tough combination to beat. We later learned that Handyman Connections had gone out of business. We weren't surprised.

+ -1 moreThe work was done on time, and actually, the job turned out to be a little smaller then proposed due to new information learned onsite -re some conditions behind the walls that I wouldn't have known. I thought the price was reasonable. It will take some time, both during cooling and heating seasons, to gauge the effectiveness of the new insulation, but from everything I learned in my research before doing this, it should make a difference in comfort and ongoing expense.
Description of Work: Marv's responded promptly to my inquiry, then scheduled an appointment right away to review scope of work and give me an estimate. I decided to go ahead, as proposed. The work date was scheduled for one week later. The project entailed adding and repairing insulation in the attic and blowing insulation into the walls of the house.
