Quadra inspected the crawl space and discovered water underneath and on top of the vapor barrier. The estimated work and time needed for full mitigation was two weeks. The cost estimate was on accurate, but needed an addendum to account for an additional pump due to the extensive amount of water. The crawl space was approximately 2,000 sq. feet to be mitigated. Their work included cutting an additional access hole to provide entry to otherwise inaccessible areas in the crawl space. They had to trench a perimeter ditch along the inside of the foundation, provide fans to accelerate the drying process, remove the previous vapor barrier, install plastic pipe within the ditch, along with gravel/rock for future water invasion, connect the piping to two sump pumps which in turn were connected to a trench they dug to our previously existing French Drain. Great, hard working guys did all of this within two weeks, to account for the initial drying out period and the challenging work of digging in a very low, constricted space.
Description of Work: Mitigated water problem in crawl space.

Mike came in to estimate putting our kitchen back together after water damage. He found all our base cabinets and all appliances in our living room. He and the insurance estimator came in together as it was convenient for our rep to meet them once. We were in Florida at the time of the damage and were doing this long distance! A month had gone by before the insurance gave us our quote for what they were paying. After some negoiations about the depreciation we got our final numbers and Mike's estimate was just about on the money. We had received another estimate from the dryout company but had decided we didn't care for them. Both appeared on Angie's list. Mike gave us good advice about picking out flooring from a distance and also assured us that when we arrived we would be able to use the living room. He sent us pictures as he got started so we could keep up with the progress. We were very greatful for that. He had to strip some damaged wallpaper and was able to match the wall paint precisely. He put new drywall where needed and skim coated all damaged areas. He replaced base boards and was able to reuse the tile backsplash that had been removed and matched the existing grout in other parts of the kitchen. He was able to get the flooring and he did a wonderful job installing it. He also had to remove more of the damaged carpet and it all looks so much better. He was able to repair the damaged countertop even though it would have been hidden by the stove. He likes his work to be perfect. He is also taking the time to look for some drawer glides to help with a few drawers missing same.I want to thank the owners of the other jobs he was already working on as he pushed our up to the top of the list since we were arriving with short notice. They should know they picked an honest, trustworthy person to do their projects and who has great tradesmen working with him.
Description of Work: He gave us an estimate. Dealt with us by email, phone and fax as we were in Florida at the time. I sent him ideas for flooring and he helped me tweek my ideas. He has great visual ability to see how it will turn out. He was prompt and on time and was always friendly. He came over to meet us after we arrived in Boise so he could go over what he had already accomplished and to explain his next steps. The flooring was already installed and the base cabinets were in. The walls and baseboards had been finished and the only thing left was to reinstall the sink, put in a new base to that cabinet and install the tile backsplash. He asked us if we could wait a few days for that bit to be done as he had spent the last few days working his men to get our job to this point. He wanted to return to finish some of the jobs he had going at the same time. We were so pleased with him and all he had already done we said ok. He was back when we agreed and was finished in a few hours. He also had cleaned up the mess left by the dryout group

The discovery of water in our crawl space during the sale of our Meridian home was not the “surprise” we were hoping for in this tough economy. The solution was simple, however. Fix it or lose the contract on our home! Knowing that we were not in the driver’s seat, we contacted several contractors. During our 3+ years in our home, we were not impressed with any of the contractors we had used for other previous projects. Mike restored our faith! Mike provided a quote that was in line with the others, yet his follow up, professionalism and pleasantness during the bidding was a step above. Let’s be honest, though, the proof would be in the job itself. We had already moved to Denver, yet left our Idaho home staged with all of our belongings. Basically, our whole life was still in that house. Not only did Mike fix the problem at EXACTLY the cost he quoted us, he took care of our home as if it were his own. We trusted him with our garage code to have unaccompanied access to our home at any time. He never betrayed that trust! We couldn’t be happier with the quality, level of professionalism and trust Mike provided us! The job was completed to perfection on time; our home was treated with care; and he was reassuring throughout. In our 10 years of owning homes, I could not recommend any contractor more enthusiastically. On a side note, our female real estate agent noted that she had not always been treated with respect when it came to dealing with contractors in these types of situations. Mike was not only respectful during his dealings with her; he inspired her to place him on her company’s “Preferred Contractor” list. He is the first and only crawl space contractor on that list. Our only regret is that Mike is not available here in Denver.
Description of Work: Drained all water out of crawl space; Installed French drain around interior perimeter of crawl space; Installed sump pump and sump alarm; Installed drain to exterior of home
