+ -1 morePrior to living here my husband worked for a ranch and they installed a new furnace. The technicians that came our were fantastic. We moved into this new place and our furnace makes funny noises and the technician they sent out couldn't hear it. I'm not totally sure if it was his age, but he just couldn't hear the buzzing noise. He said he really didn't hear what we were hearing. So he still went through and looked at the furnace, but he just didn't find anything wrong. He just said sorry. So it was a little frustrating. The price wasn't bad. It was good. Their responsiveness must have been pretty good because I don't remember. I don't remember to be able to grade them on punctuality. I don't remember to be able to grade them on professionalism. I do remember he was nice & polite & courteous. I'm sure he knew his stuff, he just couldn't hear the buzzing noise. In his brain my call was probably a waste of time. So, maybe sending out an appropriate technician would have been good.

+ -1 moreCalled to schedule furnace troubleshoot/repair, but was told they don't service my area just for a routine repair. Not sure why I get sent flyers in the mail for seasonal tune-ups, or why they run ads in the local directory for service in my area. Angie's List shows them servicing my area as well. Either the lady that answers the phone is misinformed, or they waste a lot of money on spam mail and advertising?

+ -1 moreAlex arrived promptly, spent over two hours completely inspecting and diagnosing our systems. Anything he wasn't quite sure about he called his service manager and re-tested everything just to be sure all was well. All this for just the $79 service fee. We will def use them again.

+ -1 moreJosh came out the next morning after a heads up call that he was in route. Josh very thoroughly examined my furnace, showed me every thing he was checking along the way. It turned out a spider had been living inside my gas regulator on the furnace. Josh took it apart, removed the webs, disposed of the live spider and fixed everything right up. Josh then discussed ways to improve the function on my furnace and some simple maintenance I could do to improve the longevity of my furnace. He was very kind, took his time, explained everything in detail. Josh did start and restart my furnace a few times to make sure that there was no other issues that arose. A job very well done from start to finish.
Description of Work: My furnace would ignite but was circulating only cold air. I initially had another company come out who stated it was a air return issue OR the gas meter flow OR the gas regulator on the actual furnace. This service man told me he could not test the outside meter, would not check the exhaust on my roof , and he WOULD replace my internal gas regulator on the furnace but had no way of checking it and it would be approximately $565.00 plus labor. I sent him packing. My son checked the outside air return, it was fine. The gas company checked my gas flow and meter and it was normal. The gas company employee watched my furnace run and stated it was the secondary phase of ignition that was not happening. I called Advanced Heating and Cooling and the person setting the appointment immediately stated that it sounded like my secondary phase of ignition was not kicking in. This immediately boosted my confidence that a simple description of the problem was already leading down a possible path to a solution. It was late in the afternoon so an appointment for the morning was set.

+ -1 moreThis was the second time Alex Guerrero has been our Service Tech. The first time was for routine furnace maintenance and the second was today was to clean the blower. It was suggested at our routine appointment that we have the cleaning to maximize the life of the furnace. He could just have easily said nothing and we could have ended up having to replace the unit. Advanced has never tried to pressure us into services we don't need, but has made helpful suggestions for us to consider. Today Alex went ABOVE and BEYOND the Service Tech call of duty. While moving boxes for him to more easily access the furnace I found some baby mice. He was nice enough to help me remove them, with a smile on his face and a great attitude. I like that even though I'm given a window of time that the tech will arrive, they always call when they are actually in route to my home.

+ -1 moreWe called advanced at 7:30 am. Advanced said the HVAC tech would arrive between 9-1. Arrival was 9:30. Derek did his due diligence to diagnose the problem by inspecting/testing less expensive parts. He also tested and cleaned the ignitor probe. The problem was diagnosed and fixed within an hour. Advanced will definitely be used in the future when it's time to replace the 20 year old unit.

Alex came and was very nice, very quick, and very thorough. Gave me some good info and recommendations to extend the life of my older furnace.

Description of Work: I had a central AC unit replaced for a townhouse that I own as a rental property. Competitors attempted to "upsell" me to a unit costing more than double the approximately $2800 I paid Advanced H&C for a brand new Carrier AC unit to replace the one that had stopped functioning.
