+ -1 moreMr Stoddard entered a bid that was well under what a couple of competing contractors offered. Work started after a contract was drawn up. He works fast, by himself most of the time so labor costs are kept to a minimum. Very satisfied with the results so far. He actually directed me to another job he had completed to give us an idea of what the end results would look like. He had great input on some additional items were were not entirely sold on. Nice gentlemen to work with and very professional to deal with. I would hire him again!
Description of Work: Built a dividing wall on our property. The wall was poured after proper footings were in place.

+ -1 more10/25/14 - We never missed an invoice, we paid any invoice immediately that was billed to us. He underbid the contract that was signed, and didn't tell us until the last minute. We paid for far more work than was completed.
Description of Work: Contacted to build house and horse facility. Very good at capturing our taste and executing it. Beautiful finish work with an eye for detail. Did not listen to our directives and did what he wanted. Did not return calls in a timely manner, waited until the eleventh hour to tell us he had gone over budget. There was an agreed upon contract price which he failed to honor. We parted ways leaving much of the project unfinished, several item on a check list unaddressed and the construction site a mess for us clean up. There were mistakes made on both sides, we should have insisted on a construction loan through the bank instead of a cash contract between the contractor and ourselves. This contractor is very capable of doing excellent work you just have to have an airtight contract and monitor every step. I regret that our dream home turned into a contractual mess and that we are having to hire other contractors to finish work we feel we have already partially paid for. I hope that he has learned from this experience and goes on to build beautiful homes in the future.
