Submitted previous review. I was left with thousands of dollars of repair work due to the poor workmanship from this company. They cut every corner possible, leaving me with a paint job that was chipping and peeling away. The owner is rude and unprofessional. I was yelled at, cursed at, hung up on and called names by him. He sent in someone else to fix the problem after I threatened a suit and they were worse than the first guy. They destroyed everything they touched causing approximately $4000 in damage and stealing a lamp from my home on the last day of work. Unless you want to live a nightmare, don't use this company EVER!!!!!

What ever you do NEVER use Eccles Painting for anything!!!!! He gave me an estimate over the phone and then sent a painter out to do the work. I was promised a year guarentee and that I would be 100% satisfied or would owe nothing. The job was suppose to take approximately 4 days, a week later I was letting the painter into the house ( I wasn't living in the house at the time) and I would come back to the house an hour later and the painter would be gone and never return later that day. The painter was trying to cut every corner possible ( I learned the full extent of how much he cut corners later). I came over to the house one day to find that the painter was planning on only painting the fronts of the doors, apparently he didn't think he needed to paint the back side of the doors. I called the owner of the company after a week and no more work apparently was being done to tell him that I needed his painter to finish the job since we had other remodeling that needed to be done to the house and he was holding us up from moving forward. He started arguing with me over the phone, accusing me of trying to add work to the job because I expected both sides of the doors to be painted. He also tried to tell me that the amount due was $100 more than what he originally told me the job would cost and when I told him that wasn't what we agreed upon he told me that he records his phone conversations and I was a liar. I told him that I had confirmed with the painter before he started the work and he also quoted the price of $1700 not $1800. I got tired of arguing with him and wanted to just move on with the other work that was scheduled to be done with the house so I paid him. We had removed some of the base boards due to we were installing laminate flooring, part of the job was for the painter to paint these off the wall as well as all of the rest of the base boards and trim, plus doors. My results: dirt and debris in the paint on all of the base boards that were removed, spots bleeding through on the ceiling, areas where no caulking was used, spots missed and sloppy work. All of the floor vents and door stops had to be replaced also due to he got paint all over them. That was only the beginning, about a month later the paint on the doors and trim started chipping off. I called the owner again and told him of the situation. I had several conversations with him where he argued with me and attempted to take no responsiblity. I told him that I planned on writing a review on Angie's list as well as contacting BBB and the Idaho LIcensing Board depending on his response. His first offer to address the issue was to give me $10 so I could buy new door stops, I told him that was the least of the problems so he offered me $50 stating that he was a small company and didn't have a lot of money to give to me. I had several conversations with him arguing with him on how to fix the problem. He would yell at me over the phone and try to blame me for the problem. I had three other paining companies come out to look at the problem, they all said the same thing that the job wasn't prepped correctly and I would be better off replacing all of the wood that was painted vs trying to have it stripped and re-painted. After several conversations and me suggesting that I would take litigation action, he finally agreed to have someone come out and try to fix the problem. He sent out two painters that attempted to strip and repaint the wood. They destroyed everything they touched. They ruined all of the wood trying to strip off the paint, when they repainted the paint ran and orange peeled. They got overspray and paint on walls, windows, new wood floors, new carpet, door handles and anything in the vicinity. They killed some of my lawn by pouring paint and chemicals in it and stole a lamp on the last day of painting. I pulled the plug on the work since they were destroying my newly renovated home. After several weeks of arguing with him on how we were going to fix the problem he finally agreed to send a contractor to address the damage done. However, he would only agree to pay $3000. I still have over $5000 work that needs to be done to correct the original issues as well as had to come out of pocket to fully repair the damage done by the second pair of workers. He also would only agree to using the cheapest products so my real wood was replaced with an MDF product. He was rude, cursing and screaming at me over the phone and hanging up repeatedly. He was a complete nightmare to deal with, totally unprofessional and I was left with thousands of dollars of work needing to be done to correct the shoty work that his painters did. W. brookview Dr.
