Description of Work: Showed up on time, went to work and was done in an hour. Price surprised me as I thought the repair would cost much more. My wife and I are very happy with having our garage door fixed.

Contacted provider on Thursday, and was scheduled appointment for that afternoon. Bid was fair but when asked about just replacing damage panels price was 3/4 of a new door. So tech was pushing a complete door instead of the two damaged panels. Placed order and was told it would take a week or two. When asked about bracing the door to allow for use while parts were ordered, was told that was not a recommended practice. So now my vehicles have to sit out and wife must close door manually leaving access to the garage all day. Kind of funny that they were the ones who worked on the top half of the door and placed a brace on that section. Used in the past on family recommendations both to repair motor and also to replace spring. Will keep them in mind but probably won't be my first choice again. 5/20/2015-Update After I told them that I found a cheaper price in town and in stock that I wouldn't be needing their services, they then proceeded to bill me for a service call. They didn't do anything but tell me it couldn't be fixed and the price of a new door. I will not use them again nor recommend then to friends and family.

Great, they came out; lubricated and adjusted the doors but did not have the correct springs on the truck. They returned and replaced both springs. No extra services charges were added. I then called to have my garage door at my other house work on. They made the appointment, showed up on time and completed quickly with no hassles.
Description of Work: Worked on the garage doors at two locations. At the first location they lubricated and adjusted two single-door doors and replaced both springs. One spring was broken and I decided to have both replaced. At the second house they lubricated and adjusted a double-car door.

The door had been giving me trouble for months. One of the rollers fell out over the weekend, so it finally stopped working altogether. I called Russ's, thinking I'd need to replace the door, but the man they sent to check it out said he thought they could repair it. I was at work, so told them to go ahead. They stayed in contact with me all the way through the repairs, and when I got home the door was working better than it had for years. The folks at Russ's are great, and I'd call them again in a minute.
Description of Work: They repaired my non-functioning garage door.

They sent a Tech in a very timely manner, The Tech was able to see the damage and able to make notes as to the repair. The tech had me sign a paper that I believed to be an acknowledgment that he came and did what I needed. Today I receive an Invoice in the mail for $112.00 for a service call along with the requested estimate. It clearly states that their labor rate is $75.00 per hour and that the Tech was on task for 1.5 hours. The Tech was in my building for no more than 15-20 min. Upon calling to inquire about the Service Charge the Lady who answered the phone tells me that it is for travel time incurred to pull a tech off of a job 50 miles away to respond to my "emergency call". I informed her that I was clear on the phone when I called that it was simply a call for an estimate and that the word emergency was not used in my call. After that she indignantly informed me that emergency or not it was not their Policy to provide quotes for repair because that is all they would get done all day is run around and write quotes for work that never gets done. She also said that in her 20 years of being in the service industry she has never offered to give free quotes for work or repairs. I am now informed that my only option is to have them do the $1154.00 repair and they will credit the service charge to the repair. I found their professionalism to be non existent, I could hear another person in the background yelling things at her about what " I thought" and "how can I expect them to do free work" though the entire call. I was told to feel free not to pay and they would be happy to "send me to collections" As a side note, I had another service provider offer to give a free quote, He told me that the damage was enough to make the repair cost prohibitive do to the fact that he could replace the entire door for $1500. I told him that I was going to give the original installer the chance as a professional courtesy. Unfortunately I did not find Professionalism or courtesy in my interaction with Russ's Overhead Door.
Description of Work: I called for a quote to repair a 20 x 14 commercial overhead door that was installed by Russ's in 2007. I rent a building and my land lord requested that I get a quote to repair a broken lift cable and replacement of damaged panels due to the door falling closed when the cable broke. I was not told that there would be any charge for an estimate.

l will end up hiring another contractor to fix Russ's Overhead Door's poor quality and workmanship and pay for it oe again. My warning anyone anticipating having this business do work for them, "BEWARE."
Description of Work: Russ's Overhead Head Doors, Idaho Falls, ID provided poor service regarding the overhead metal awning I purchased from them, and they installed over my deck in 2006. The ISSUES are the following: 1. They stalled a smaller awning than we originally agree to and paid for without consideration, it barely covers my deck, 2. The awning leaks, and has leaked since installation, 3. The 1st year of installation, I repeatedly called them with little or no successful not being able to reach the man in charged to state the problem, their getting tired of my repeated calls, they finally sent someone out to fix it, 4. Following the 1st rain after supposedly being fixed it still leaked and as bad as before, 5. Repeated calls this time to fix their repair resulted in no response, and rude treatment by the woman who works in the office. 6. I finally started calling them again a lttle over a year ago and after half dozen calls and actually going to their store on Haroldson, I once again had to deal with a rude nonresponsive woman in the office, their finally realizing I wasn't going to go away, the owner or main guy called to tell me too much time had passed a they couldn't the problem w/o charging me, I said there has been a problem wth leaking since day one, and I had made numerous attemps to contact someboby in the office wthout success, and their not returning, or basically ignoring me. 7. So the owner and a worker came by to fix they considerable leak once and for all, he was rude, curt, and messy, meaning leaving tar dropings on things, which I had to clean afterwards. He was unhappy and showed it, throwing things around putting dents in my awning. 8. Finally I thought I was through dealing with and awning was finally fixed, guess what last winter (2012 - 2013) , it leaks as always ruining the lawn furniture and the new floor coating I just had applied. 9. And to top all this, the owner had the gull to sent me bill for the repair that also didn't work.

My husband called for an estimate on getting the broken spring on our garage door fixed. They did not give out an estimate over the phone like the two other companies my husband talked to, but wanted to see the garage door first. When the worker called me to verify a time he spoke as if he was coming to fix the door. I specifically stated that he was welcome to come give me an estimate. He showed up a short time later. As I answered the door he exhaled smoke into my face (strike 1). I showed him the door and he got a ladder and started taking measurements. When he got down I asked him what he estimated the project to be. He said this was a service call and that they don't give estimates--that it is impossible to know how long the job will take but it would be somewhere between 1 1/2 hours and 2 hours. I stated that my husband had clearly asked for ONLY an estimate and if he liked I could call and speak with his boss. After much reluctance he finally calls the secretary and asks how to fill out the paper for an estimate. He finally comes up with the springs costing $129 and the labor estimated at 1-2 hours so a total of $220, but it was not guaranteed. He left, slightly irritated, and we did not call them to do the work. Instead, we called Discount Doors Company who had given us a fixed quote of $149 over the phone and we were completely happy with their service. By the way the DDC employee did the work in about 20 minutes.
Description of Work: No services were actually performed--other than coming to my home to give an estimate but insisting when he got there that it was a service call and that they don't give estimates.
