The absolute worst service in 15 years of wireless connections that I have ever experienced anywhere. They sold me a 5.00 meg upgrade from a 2 meg service 3 months ago. Before I would use speedtest.net to check speeds especially when things got slow in the evening. Speeds averaged between .5 Meg's and almost 1 meg. After Rise Broadband took over almost all my tests are under .2 Meg's. Most evenings I can't even connect or get kicked off the internet within a couple minutes. Tonight I can't even use the Internet on their service so I am writing this using my hotspot mobile device from work on Verizon. I am so frustrated paying $47 a month for a joke of a service I am quitting their service if I have to use my cell phone as a hotspot. I also went to their office in idaho falls and swapped out the router (didn't help at all). I sat on the phone on hold for almost 4 hours of accumulated hold time in 5 phone calls waiting for tech help. I will not waste my time again on this pathetic company or service. Tonight was very typical on internet speeds on speedtest.net, download average speeds .02 Meg's , upload speeds .01. That's only 1/2 of 1% of what they promised me when I upgraded the service to 5 Meg's. They gave me a free month when I complained last month but that's a joke when I can hardly connect at all. What's the point.
Description of Work: Rise broadband provided me wireless internet service. They apparently took over Digis wireless recently which took over Microserv Wireless a year or two ago. Each transition the service slowed down overall substantially. I had them (a technician) come out to the house because we kept losing service. He said they couldn't fix the problem and that they were switching gear and would probably discontinue servicing our area in the not to distant future. He checked all our equipment and dish connections.

I started 6.5 yrs ago with this internet account through BigDog who sold out to Digis who now sold out to Rise. The quality of internet and customer service has decreased with each ownership change. For this review, I called to report no Internet connection. Phone autoresponse said long wait time, so I left my number and got a call back an hour later (which was why I rated the professionalism a grade higher). Was then told it couldn't be fixed remotely. So I have to wait 10 days for the 4 hour time block for the guy to show up. Despite the lack of internet service, I was told I would not be credited for 1/3 of the month's bill. So I'll use the time to find a better provider...there has to be a better one.

Description of Work: They are internet providers, I use them for my business - used to be locally owned and when they sold I was not thrilled, figured their service would go down, but when I have needed assistance, they have been responsive and thorough.

Installation went well. I received my first bill by mail then never received another bill by any means: mail or email. When it finally dawned on me that I should have received a bill, in some way, I started to investigate. I checked all my email folders, tried to get to my account online, or create an account on line, and still couldn't find anything out. The next day after work I came home to investigate some more and try again to get online and had no internet to deal with. I called customer service and talked to a mean and nasty little thing. Got things resolved and paid my bill up and over so I would have time to figure out why their bill didn't make it to me through email. A short time later Digis bought out Microserv. Since then I have been able to set up an account, online, through Digis and can keep an eye on what is going on. Digis' internet is slow!! And getting slower by the week. I thought it just might be that my computer isn't brand new, yet the wi-fi isn't routed through my computer and it is getting slower and slower. Granted I have their next to the slowest internet and it is comparable to dial-up in the way it downloads a page from top to bottom. Digis' customer service people are pleasant and, so far, easy to talk with. Their service has also gone down three times in 2 months. Not an encouraging sign. I guess it all boils down to not getting bills from Microserv and their mean and nasty customer service reps to being able to keep track of my bills, have nicer customer service reps and have slower internet. Just have to survive the rest of the contract then find something better. As far as rating with the A B C D F I don't know which company to rate since they are the same, yet different???

Their service department is prompt in responding to requests for help or service. When a neighbor built a garage that blocked our wireless tower reception, MicroServ installed a new receiver on our roof quickly at no cost to us and restored our service. This company has been patient while helping us set up and operate a wireless router system within our home. We burned through a few Linksys and NetGear routers until we asked them to come out. They diagnosed surge protector equipment failure as the problem and provided new equipment and a router to see if their fix worked. It did. The router is still working. We have purchased internet service in a few other states and I have not seen spam filtering as good as what is provided with MicroServ. I get no spam - maybe one slips by once or twice a year or so.
