It went really well. They were prompt, professional, arrived on time and gave suggestions for future upkeep. I was very pleased with the services.

I loved the way the gentleman trimmed my trees. He made sure the trees limbs were well balanced and checked with me afterwards to see if I liked the results. Also, he was nice enough to rehang my bird feeder on the higher tree limb I could not reach. The old limb had been trimmed off. Also, when the bugs are sprayed around the house, I am always notified so I can shut my windows.

They do a good job for a reasonable price when they have time. That said, the last couple times I've called I've been rudely told that their schedule is full.

Scheduled a time to get my sprinklers repaired and adjusted. They said they would call me back and schedule a time. Week later I hadn't heard anything so I called them back. They said they would have someone out there in two days. At that time I also requested a lawn treatment for dandelions. They said they would schedule that. Tech came out and looked at my sprinklers and said roots had moved them. He said he didn't have the tools to remove the roots and I was on my own but they charged me anyway. He showed me which direction I should cut the roots. I did it as he said and cut right through the line. After several days they called me and said the tech for the spray would be there the next day. Never heard from them. 3 days later they call me again and said the tech would be out the following day. I asked them what time so I could meet them (need to unlock the gate and put my dog away) and he said early morning. 8am to 10am. At 12:30 I still hadn't heard from them so I called and cancelled. Save your time and just spray yourself. As for the sprinklers, as long as its a head replacement or something simple they can do it, but if its something simple you can do it too. Don't waste your time and money on these guys. I think the lawn service is 50/hr. The spray would have been about $40 per spray if they had actually showed up.

Probably a little spendy, but then I no longer have to purchase multiple products for application nor do I have to purchase and maintain a fertilizer spreader or other equipment for application of various products. My lawn is beautiful and weed free, shrubs are in great condition, fruit trees sprayed and no spiders around my house. For me, this service is a bargain. LawnTech employees are knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend their service.

You decide? 04-11-14 I initially called Lawn Tech and talked to the owner and he said it sounded like my spruce trees had the IPS beetle. He said the way to treat them is to cut down the damaged trees and spray the remaining trees right afterwards with a chemical they use that lasts 18 months and is cheaper than most others. He said the beetle has offspring 4 times a year and usually the first one in mid-April. I told him to send someone out to give me an estimate. They came out the same day and gave me estimates for cutting down and spraying the trees. I gave them a green light and they said they would be out within a week. 04-14-14 A couple days later they came out and cut down one whole tree, ground out the stump, and halved another. 04-15-14 I sent them a check for the work they had performed so far which was ~ $850.00 04-28-14 I sent the estimating person a text and a pic of tree with some dead branches they missed? I also tried calling her but no answer. Text message... Just to let u know they missed a branch and still waiting for trees to get sprayed. They need to call 1st cause dog is on the deck. 05-05-14 Well no reply from estimator so I started getting worried cause the weather was warming up and no spray yet, so I called the owner. I reminded him of what he told me? ?the remaining trees needed to be sprayed right after the damaged ones are removed to prevent further damage?. He said that is true and apologized and said he would see what was going on. 05-12-14 Have not heard a word yet, so I called and left a message with the receptionist to have the owner call me. 05-14-14 Still no word, so I called and asked receptionist if I could talk to the owner. She said just a minute, then she got back on the line and said he filled her in on what was going on and that the chemicals have not arrived yet. She was expecting them today or tomorrow. I told her they have to call me before they spray for I need to let my dog in the house. What! Why didn?t they tell me they didn?t have the chemicals and had to order them!!! 05-21-14 Still no word, so I called their office again. She said the chemicals are still not in but hopefully this week. 05-23-14 Their office called and said they would spray the trees today. When he came out to spray I told him I was not happy with them coming out to spray 6 weeks later. They were supposed to be out right after cutting them down to prevent further damage!!! I showed him the top of another tree that is now dying. And dead branches below where they halved the other tree. He said that he would write the ticket that I was not happy. 05-27-14 I called the office and asked them what the owners email address was. The receptionist said to send it to golawntech.com and she would forward it on to him. I sent an email with pictures of more branches dying on the halved tree and new a tree top dying. Email? ?Your folks came out and sprayed the remaining trees the end of last week ( ~6 weeks after cutting others down) and I wanted you to advise on what to do now, if anything? The attached pic titles are self-explanatory. Please let me know what to do for these trees are very important to us. 06-04-14 Still no word, so I called and talked to the receptionist to see if she had received my email. She looked, then stated that it was forwarded to him on the 29th and she would remind him of it. 07-07-14 Well one month later and still no word from them? So, I am going to give them one more chance to make things right. I am going to send them this timeline and If I do not hear from their office by the end of the week I am going to publish this timeline on Angie?s List and forward it on to the Better Business Bureau. 07-07-14 Sent them this timeline from here up and finally got a response. 07-09-14 They came out and cut the top off the newly damaged tree and cut more off the other halved one. Left a bill for $164.50 08-0-14 They sent me a bill with a $4 service charge for not paying for the spraying on 5-23. Note: I have not paid them anything since the initial $850. This is what I get for not waiting for the job to be complete before paying anything! 08-12-14 Sent an email to them for the first halved tree is all but dead and needs removed? ?Looks like the first tree you folks halved is not going to make it. Would you like to finish cutting it down and grind the root out? Let me know asap please. Thx? 08-13-14 They came out and removed what was left of the first halved tree and ground out the stump. They left a bill for $475 (removal and stump grind). 08-18-14 Sent them an email basically stating that I feel they should eat some of this cost for they did not spray the trees for almost 6 weeks and I feel this caused the further damage. 09-23-14 Received a bill for $645 and I sent it back to them and wrote this on it? ?I sent you folks an email on 8-18-14. I am NOT paying you anything until WE agree on a price! The owner can call me or I can come over.? 09-29-14 Sent them an email of the next tree dying. 02-11-15 Another tree died next to the other two and I had someone else come out and remove it. 04-06-15 Haven?t heard from them for a while and just received a bill for $726. Has some finance charges on it cause I haven?t paid it. So, I sent it back to them and wrote this on it? ?I sent the attached to you last September. Nothing has changed except had to cut yet another tree down! I am not paying you anything until the owner comes out to my house and sees what I have lost because of your negligence. I am willing to settle this if the Owner comes out and we agree on a price!? I also scanned and emailed the bill I wrote on with a video of my third tree falling. 06-19-15 Yes 14 months later!!! Well got another bill from them yesterday for $750. I?ve had it! Called them up and asked to talk to the owner. Of course they got back on the phone and said he?s busy. Guess I should have given them a fake name? So I left my number and told them to have him call me. Surprisingly he called and agreed to meet me at my house. We met, talked, and he basically kept stating that we didn?t know where the beetle was in its cycle, and I kept reminding him what he initially told me about spraying the trees right after removing the damaged areas. Anyway, he took a couple hundred bucks off and dropped the finance charges. I wrote him a check and we parted. I am truly disgusted with how the owner handled this whole situation and will never have anything to do with them again! I have also talked to quite a few other people that have nothing good to say about this company? I would have gladly paid them if they would have done what they said they were going to do in the first place! And, I would probably have a couple more trees?

We sent LawnTech an email through this site, asking for an estimate. After not responding for 1.5 weeks we called. They said they were swamped and would get back to us. After not calling us back, we called them again a week later. They finally sent someone out then, and the person did not even attempt to coordinate with us. We said we would like to be home and could be available, and would like to chat with them about what kind of services we were interested in. They just left a pamphlet on our door. Apparently they were not interested in getting any new customers. Their response and level of professionalism was dismal.

Once they returned our phone calls it went well. They didn't put them very deep, so I can see the line poking up through the dirt - but all we have is dirt and rocks, so I'm hoping adding grass on top will help. They showed up and completed it quickly, though, and their price was the best I could find. Also, they quoted a discount on the price, but it turns out that was only if you paid with a card - which cost more originally - so really their paperwork stating "discount" is absolutely not true.

I contacted four providers for bids. One never responded at all. Three of them made appointments and Lawntech was the only one who did as promised and came to give us a bid. I even called the other two again and left messages for them - nothing!!! Justin was wonderful. Our system was even installed weeks earlier than we had expected and the price was exactly as we agreed to. Very professional service and everything works great. Their customer service and responsiveness are the best.

Response from LawnTech
Our records show that a visit was requested on 5/26/2010 regarding the spruce tree in the backyard. Our arborist visited within 1 day of the request and found the tree was stressed due to drought that was very prevalent at the time as well as showed signs of girdling roots and spruce gall. Treatment for the spruce gall was recommended. Notes were left with the customer with these observations and they were explained at the time of the visit. No services were purchased and there was no charge at all for this visit.

We really like that Lawntech comes on a regular basis. Though it would be nice to know when they are coming so we can mow the lawn if it needs it to get the maximum treatment. The weed control looks like it's working pretty well. We haven't finished treatments yet. We haven't seen an improvement in the quality of our lawn, which is what we were looking for. It's been maitained well, but that's about it. We'll use them one more time next year to see if they can do what we want, but if it's the same as it is this year so far we won't. The arborist that came out was pretty good, but was incorrect on the species of one of our trees. I don't know if it really makes a difference since we just got the lawn and Spruce treatments, but you'd think the arborist would know their trees.

In the past years, the service was great (A+). This year they split the spraying. They sprayed the blue spruce tree in the front yard, but not my fruit trees in the back. I had prepaid for the service, so it was a good thing I happened to be home and noticed he didn't go in the backyard. So I called and asked about the trees in the back, they sent the service person back and he told me that he came back to check for other fir/spruce trees in the backyard, which there weren't any. I asked about my fruit trees and he said it took a different spray and some would be back another time. I called Lawn Tech later to find out when and was told either the end of the week (June 28) or the beginning of the following week. No one came and I called again during the week of July 8. I talked to a different person and was told that he should have sprayed all the trees at the same time, they use the same spray on fruit trees, and she would get someone back out. I finally got the trees in the back sprayed today. Although I wasn't home at the time, they left a copy of the service call in the door. I have used Lawn Tech for several years for tree spraying, pruning, and tree removal. Their service, quality of work, and price has always been top notch. In fact I've recommended Lawn Tech to several people. I hope this year is just an anomaly. Unfortunately, the spraying came too late to take care of the western cherry tree fruit fly. Last year, Lawn Tech's timing was perfect. I had very few cherries with the worms. The person last year had two different tanks and he switched tanks to spray the fruit trees. So now I'm not sure whether or not it takes two different sprays to handle scale on firs versus fruit trees. I do plan to use Lawn Tech for spraying my trees next year. However, I will make sure that my trees will be sprayed at the same time. I also plan to make sure I am home when it happens. If I wasn't home this year, I would have never known that the trees in the backyard weren't sprayed. My trust in the Lawn Tech for spraying trees took a hit this year.

I have been using them for about 3 years. I recommend them because it helps your lawn look healthy. They call us to let us know we are due every year for treatment. They come and service the lawn and leave a flag in the yard and leave a note on the door once finished. This is helpful because they recommend not to water the lawn 24 hours before treatment.

I have been a customer of LawnTech for quite some time, spent a lot of money with them and I would advise people to look elsewhere. I give people a few chances, and gave LawnTech far too many chances. 1. They did a terrible job at lawn patch work (after failing to have us settle the soil before putting in the hydroseed), which I forgave them for. They have called me three separate times to tell me they will be coming out the next day to fertilize. (No shows on every occasion!). Their sales guy Justin scheduled me to come and put in flower beds. Again, a no show! I called Justin and he said they got some higher paying jobs coming in and had to move me (without even calling me). I thought it was just Justin's incompetence, so I called LawnTech and asked to speak with the owner. I left a detailed message, and he never called me back. Then I get a call from a guy named Kerry. I told him the situation and he promised he would take care of it and though nobody else called me back, he would definitely call me back and schedule a visit to come put in my flower beds. Nope, not a call from him ever. Two days later though, I got a call from a lady at LawnTech, who told me they were coming out to fertilize. I asked her if Kerry was going to call me, she said she had no idea that he had spoken to me. Seriously, what an incompetent company. They obviously don't care about their customers unless you meet a certain dollar amount. I have paid every invoice they have sent. I told Kerry I just want the work done, but they just keep promising to come out and they never do! I am not happy with them. They are the worst local company I have ever dealt with and they have wasted my time because now I am going to have to wait until next spring to find someone else who wants the work. Save yourself the time and hassle and do not use LawnTech for any services! This is the only way I can think of to get their attention, hopefully they will start caring.

Response from LawnTech
At LawnTech, we highly value the feedback that we receive from our customers. It is important to us to clarify the issues that have been brought up in Member review. We began working with the Member in the summer of 2010 when he requested work involving installing a new lawn by way of hydro seeding. Our initial inspection of the property revealed that the sprinkler system would likely be inadequate for establishing a new lawn and so we provided a system modification service to resolve that problem. After prepping and installation of the new lawn, soil began settling in the trenches from utility work when the home was being built. We had a disclaimer about this potential issue on our bid. The Member initially felt that it was a sprinkler system problem but agreed to have us repair the settling problem under a separate bid. There was no need for forgiveness on his part. The Member continued with a regular lawn service program of fertilization and weed control and in early July of this year requested a landscape bid to install some additional landscaping. Our manager, Justin, met with the Member and provided a bid for work that involved several items totaling over $5000. Justin indicated to the Member that our schedule was booked out about two weeks at the time so if he wanted to get the work done it was advisable to get it on our schedule as soon as possible. About 2 to 3 weeks later, the Member called to discuss the project again but wanted to reduce the size of the project because other expenses that had come up (he desired 2 of the items included in the bid for a total of less than 10% of the original amount.) Justin indicated that he would have to re-bid those items because they would not be part of an entire project. He also informed the Member that our schedule had booked out substantially more because of some large projects since their last visit. The Member was not happy about the schedule and thought his project should be arranged quicker. In the busy part of our season, Justin was unable to get back to him right away with the re-bid information. Thje Member called on August 16th to find out about the re-bid. He spoke with Megan in our office and she promised to get a figure for him right away. She called him back the next day and provided the re-bid amount and an approximate 3 to 4 week schedule. He responded with thanks but said he had arranged for someone else to take care of the landscaping. We did not hear fromthe Mmber until September 6th when he called and spoke to our call center director, Kerry, indicating he wanted to give us another chance at the landscaping. Our schedule had become even more booked which was apparently upsetting to him. He also indicated that he had no interest in dealing with Justin who is our landscape manager and handles these projects. He had requested to speak with an owner about this but the call was redirected to Justin since he technically is our top man when it comes to landscaping. To some extent, Justin felt that he was at an impasse with the Member about the project because of schedule. The Member indicated that if we could not get the work done, we should cancel his service completely and accordingly we canceled the account. Contrary to his account, the only two lawn treatments that were performed earlier this year for the Memebr were done with a call a day ahead as he had requested each time and both treatments were done the next day as promised (all of this is carefully documented). It is important to mention that our landscape projects are scheduled according to the date they are booked. We try to accommodate customer requests as much as possible but the booking date puts it on the schedule in order to treat everyone fairly regardless of the job size (larger jobs do book a bigger slot on our schedule). It appears that the Member's biggest complaint was that we were unwilling to provide preferential treatment and fit him into our schedule earlier (because of the additional booked work while he was trying to decide about the project). We can appreciate his frustration in not being able to get the work scheduled at the time he wanted. But he misrepresents that in fact that we did provide the bid he needed twice and it was his choice both times to reject it and go somewhere else. It is disappointing that we were unable to meet the Member's needs but we feel he has been unfair to our company in his review. LawnTech has been serving Eastern Idaho for over 30 years and our reputation speaks for itself based on the referral work that we receive from our customers. We strive to excel in customer service and fairness in all that we do. We continually examine ways to improve our performance in this area. Kim Johnson LawnTech

They always followed my instructions to the letter re: calling ahead a day to allow me to lock my dogs up and were always punctual. On one occasion there was a problem with a tree being oversprayed with a pesticide and they promptly sent out their arborist to assess the situation (the tree was saved).
Description of Work: I have been a customer for several yrs. I enrolled in their seasonal lawn maintenance program as well as a tree care program. I have had them do some landscaping as well and have beeen completely satisfied with both the work and the price.
