Idaho Falls Rentals

IF rentals is a terrible company to rent from. First off they advertised the apartment we rented to be renting for $625 a month. We had two dogs and knew there would be a fee either in the deposit or a small fee monthly for them, we'll they charged us $300 per dog extra ($600) in the deposit as well as an extra $25 ($50) per dog a month! That's a tad outrageous if u ask me but we accepted to keep our fur babies our deposit just to get into the apartment ended out being $1,200! After signing the lease we got a call that an "error" had been made in our contract..apparently they forgot to mention that sewer and garbage was not included in the price and that would be an EXTRA $65 a month! Our rent ended up being $740 a month for a two bedroom townhouse! We lived there for 17 months from March 2011 to August 2012. We never got noise complaints and we cleaned up after our dogs (tho I can't say the same for our neighbors who hasn't even let if rentals know they had a giant Rottweiler and another dog) we never complained when the kids from the apartment on the end opened our backdoor and let our pets out without our knowledge or the time I found their Down syndrome daughter in our upstairs. A few months into moving into our apartment our front door knob broke and to get ourselves out of the apartment we had to take the guts out of the knob and keep the door closed with only the dead bolt and a knob just for show so there wasn't hole in the door, despite constant written and verbal requests for them to come fix the problem it didn't get fixed for almost a year and they charged me $40 to fix it!!! There was a fenced back yard fenced in some cheap white fiberglass and in a common wind storm in Idaho the side fence was torn to pieces and I did my best to prop it up so my dogs didn't escape....same with this problem...repeated requests to fix the fence only ended with a dude coming and propping it back together worse then I did and it would fall again in the next slight breeze...I got my own hands dirty and stuck that fence back together more times then I can count. When we moved in holes in the walls were covered by white duct tape and numerous other jimmy rigged "fixes". In the end when we moved out I have them 30 days notice as requested, I gave them my key with an address for them to contact us at. They kept the entire $1,200 deposit with out ever hearing another word from them and frankly I was okay with that if it meant getting away from these penny pitching arses. Well I just revived a call that I am in collects for an account at IF Rentals for over $1,000! What?!? I was never informed they where charging me for anything (even tho I have them an address to use and my phone number has never changed) what could they possibly be charging me for?!? I paid my rent and dozens of other hidden fees. I have talked to many people an no one I know has had a good experience with this company and even the collections lady told me she had once rented from IF Rentals and to say the least it wasn't a pleasant experience. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! IF YOU HAVE TO RENT FROM THEM TAKE PICTURES, DETAILED ACCOUNTS AND RECORDS AND HAVE A LAWYER!!! Never again.

Idaho Falls rentals is an awful business! We filled out a $50 application for an apartment we were going to rent, I called 3/12/12 to tell them I was mailing the deposit today and they had rented it out from under us without even calling to notify us! They didn't even have the decency to call and say that someone else was interested in the apartment and if we would be sending out deposit soon as to not miss out on that apartment. Nope, they don't obviously don't give a CRAP about they're clients or trying to keep them happy, not a way to run your business if you want to stay in business. The place wasn't even going to be available until April 5th, so I don't know why they had to be such a****! DON'T TAKE YOUR BUSINESS THERE.The people who work in their office are cold, unfriendly and quite snobbish. When the lady told me that the apartment had been rented to someone else it was obvious in my voice tone that I was upset and surprised that they did that and she didn't sound a bit sympathetic, she was a b****! The two other rental agencies in town are reliable property management and rentmaster, both only charge $20 for the application fee for married couples. Idaho falls rentals charges $25 per person regardless of if you're married or not, so I feel like they rip people off from the get go.
