Michael was wonderful and pulled my rear end out of the wringer. Our garage was all but falling down. He tore out the entire back wall, reframed it, resided the whole garage and made it like new again. Then I painted it. So sad he is moving to Idaho.

This was a big project for us at our youth center and it the project was ran with professionalism and care.

Michael was awesome too work with. He communicated every time he could or couldn't be there. He helped me pick out building materials that were hard to come by, or gave me alternatives. Mike Bickler is very cordial and professional sounding. It goes downhill from there. The job spread over several months because we had problems with Line X, who was suppose to produce a waterproof deck, but had continuous problems. The material for the railing came from Timber Tech. They should be called False Promises because parts dribbled in for over a month. I asked for a flashing with a drip edge to deflect rain from running down the edge of the deck. Mike purchased flat flashing, saying he couldn't find the other. The proper flashing is more expensive and available at any lumber store. The new plywood Mike installed made the deck 1 1/2 inches thick. Mike used 2 inch screws. The underside of the deck is a living area and he agreed to trim all the screws. He cut very sloppy 4 X 4 holes for the railing posts and filled them with caulk that dripped onto the ceiling underneath. Toward the end of October we left for Arizona. Mike had not returned to finish the job, but promised to finish and mail us pictures, so we could pay him. Around the 20th of November we received an email from Mike with a couple pictures of the deck and railing. From what we could see in the pictures, we sent him his money. When we returned in May, we were disgusted with what we found: The cap railing was crooked in places, the corners of the cap didn't meet, holes were drilled in the railing where there was nothing underneath, sawn wood was unsealed and left exposed to the elements, caulk was smeared on the stair and concrete below, the 4 X 4 holes cut in the plywood were not finished and the screws weren't trimmed level with the ceiling. I started calling Mike and leaving messages. I called Probuild in Othello, who had recommended Equity Builders, but they didn't know where he was working. This went on until about the end of July. We were tired of making excuses to friends for the sad appearance of the cap railing and lower deck ceiling. I called Brad Smith Construction who immediately came out and corrected the job. About the third week of August--with summer mostly over--Mike called to say he'd come out and look at the job. I told him it was too late, we'd hired someone to fix the mess and I'd send him a bill. It cost us over $500 to repair Equity Builders work.
