Schultz Appraisal Inc

I have an unusual house and there are not really any comparables. This appraiser may have gone to the county assessor's web site to find the value, but not much more. He used comparables which were in no way similar to either the size of my property or my house. My husband was home when he visited and pointed out significant items to the appraiser which were important to determine value. This guy could not have been more dismissive. He chose to do the sales comparison approach rather than a cost approach. Obviously, the former resulted in way less work. When I questioned him about the appraisal (I did not receive a copy until after the loan closed), he got belligerent and provided no reason why he used the sales comparison, even though there are no sales in this area that are comparable to my home. I suppose that already having received the money made him act rude with impunity. I certainly don't feel as if I got my money's worth from this business. There are enough other appraisers in Boise, that one should definitely avoid Schultz Appraisals.
