The Rug Bindery is a one-man shop. Its owner, George, is personable and skilled. He's bound several pieces of carpet left over from a wall-to-wall carpet installation for use as area rugs and did a wonderful job. More impressively, he recently repaired a patterned Oriental runner that my dog had decided was snack food. She'd chewed almost an inch into one side and I wasn't sure the carpet could be saved. George backed the damaged area to prevent further fraying and matched the edging so well that the repair is unnoticeable. His prices are very reasonable, and I'm always happy with his absolutely first-class work. I happily recommend him without reservation!
Description of Work: Bound spare pieces of carpet to use as area rugs; repaired damaged Oriental carpet.

It went very well. We have a new dog, and she began chewing the tassels on several throw rugs and the binding on a runner we had at the top of the stairs. She did very significant damage to the runner. I took the carpets and runners (I had another runner that the binding had come loose, but not due to the dog) to the Rug Bindery and George said he could have it done by the following week. It ended up being three weeks before I got everything back, but that was due to several customers before me, and another job that took him away for a couple of days. He did call and let me know of the delays, but I wasn't in a hurry, so I didn't mind. He offered at one time to bring them by after work, but I told him that wasn't necessary. When I did get everything back, the work was very good, the new binding matched the fabric and the old binding on the runners. There was little he could do to fully repair the heavily damaged runner, but even that was in far better condition after he worked on it than it was before I gave it to him. I must add that the Rug Bindery is the only shop I know of in Boise that does this kind of work. Most commercial operations will only work on their own product. There may be other shops of this kind in the surrounding communities, but this one was the closest to my address. Because of the proximity of the Rug Bindery and the quality of work, I will definitely use him again.
Description of Work: It is a one-man operation, so he can get behind if the demand is high. However, his work is very good. You can't beat the price. When you ask him a question, his gives you a straight answer and will tell you right out, if he can complete the task. But I do caution you that you should be prepared to wait. He is very precise in what he does, but work can be delayed if he has a lot of business. I have used him in the past and will use him in the future, and would recommend him to anyone.
