MAG SMALL ENGINE, INC

Oh boy...CAVEAT EMPTOR. Spent $4000.00 on a Red Max Zero Turn mower with bagger back in April, 2019 and the mower has performed poorly from the get-go. Had to have it serviced a month after we purchased it (it didn't appear to have been prepped for delivery; the turning arms were almost inoperable and there was a broken piece and a missing hose). It also didn't start except after repeated attempts. The deck was also not properly adjusted. These items were addressed, without cost, but over the next few months the bagger started to malfunction (grass spewing everywhere) and the deck came out of alignment...again. When the owner, Mike, came out to get the mower, he was flippant and rude. I had to basically insist that he take the bagger with him to effect repairs. I was able to show him (having just mowed the day before) how poorly the mower was performing, and his response was "that's just grass". Additionally he showed little respect for my concerns, at times smirking as if my requests for service were uncalled for and trivial. Their "all sales final" policy doesn't even allow for the fact that the mower may have been/probably is a lemon, and he left us little recourse except to just suck it up. Bottom line: Slimey 'car salesman' mentality; terrible customer service; they don't stand by their products; and did I mention rude? STAY AWAY!

They're really good. The price was pretty good. I went to their store. They didn't come to me. I don't know if they make house calls.

They quoted me $240, and I said that seemed high but I was willing to pay it. He said it may not be $240, but if it looks like it's going to go over $240, they'd call before running the bill that high. They did not call until the service was done, and the bill was $270. So that was bad. But I paid it anyway. Then when I get the mower home I find out that the transmission has been screwed up. I asked the previous owner (my Dad) and he told me that he had never had problems like I was having. I searched online and found another guy with the same problem as me, and he said he had taken it in for service and the shop screwed up the transmission. I also had a problem with the mower deck being too low, but that was not caused by Mag Small Engine. I called Mag Small Engine and they said that their service is guaranteed for 30 days so they'd fix any problems I was having. I asked if they would come pick up the mower (because I don't have a truck). They said they'd have to charge a fee for that. So even though they screwed up my mower, I have to pay them to come pick it up and fix it. I am having a different guy fix it. Will not use Mag Small Engine again, and will steer friends and family away from them. It's sad because my Dad has used them for years, but the original owner who my dad used to work with is retired now. I guess the new younger lot has not learned the value of quality work and good customer service.

My lawnmower wouldn't sart. I dropped it off on Saturday and picked it up on Tuesday. They looked at it determined that it had bad gas and drained and refilled the mower. They also sharpened the blade. They clearly explained the problems associated with ethanol in gas. They even had a small paper that talked about gas and what to do. They were friendly and very helpful.

They have reasonable prices and work quickly. I highly recommend them!

We called then took the tool to them. They said it was very old and not worth fixing

It went very well. We will absolutely use them again.

My husband tried to start the lawn mower last weekend, and it didn't start. I'm not sure if I'm happy with that. I think their price was good, and I think we've used them before. I think we're just disappointed with what happened. I doubt that we'll use them again.
