Culligan of Southwest Idaho

I picked up replacement filters for my drinking water system back in march, in july i had time to finally replace them but couldnt get any water flow. I figured one of the filters was defective so i rearranged them trying to figure out the problem,. At some point it started leaking so i gave up and didn't bother putting the filters back where they belonged. I had culligan come out to fix it. The tech came out replaced the O rings and put the filters back where they should be ($135). I pressurized the system and it still didn't work. I called and the tech said the tank was probably bad. I called culligan and they quoted $180 for a replacement. I got one from Lowes for $60 but it still wouldn't work. At that point i had to be out of town for several months. When i got back and called culligan they said it had been over 90 days and it would be another $135 to finish the job. I was able to get hold of the sevice manager James, He told me that the tank was under warranty which the tech and the person at the front desk didn't know. It cost me $20 and a trip to boise to get the new tank and it still wouldn't work. I spoke to James again and he was rude and argued with me. He told me that since the filters had been in since march in the wrong position i had screwed them up. I tried to explain that i never gotten water to flow. He finally agreed to send the tech out for $40. The tech came out, he was clueless and I had to keep suggesting what to check, each time he would say he didn't know what else to check. After several times telling him what to check he finally discovered that one of the filters wasn't allowing water flow. He replaced it and it worked great. He still charged me the $40 but not for the filter. I told him to have james call me because i wasn't happy about having to pay for 2 sevice calls to fix there faulty product. I never heard back. I left him a message several days later and still didn't hear back. At that point i gave up, I didn't want to have to talk with James again and listen to him be rude and keep telling me i didn't put things together right the first time. Although they have good products i will never use them again if i can avoid it. Hopefully someone else will be able to work on there products if i have problems again.

Culligan are very courteous, very nice people. They installed the water softener and a reverse osmosis system. They were very prompt.

They are local. We have very hard water here. It takes the minerals out of the water so we do not use as much detergent and soaps. It is kinder on our dishes and we do not get edges on our glassware and the water seems sudsier. I use a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent in my dishwasher and it washes just fine; I use a third of what I used to use.
