Nothing on this project went well. This contractor did a terrible job all the way around! The crew was very unprofessional, showed up during the middle of the day, left garbage everywhere, after they left, they did not clean up their mess and several tools of mine came up missing. As for the quality of work, Bill the owner suggested the equipment upon purchase and told me that I would be getting "First Class Service all the way" he explained that I wold not have to do anything to the system when he was finished (Definitely Not true). I purchased a pump that would pump irrigation water to the sprinkler heads. I requested upon purchase that he installed a filter in the line so that the sprinkler heads would not get plugged. His response was that he has been doing this for 20 years and had never had to put a filter in the line. Needless to say I took his advise and within the first month I had to replace all 60 sprinkler heads because they were plugged up with pieces of grass and seed particles from the irrigation water. The pump that I purchased was supposed to come with a frame that would support the pump and keep it level. When the pump was installed Bill mounted it on a piece of cheep particle board using drywall screws. After the first few months the board began to warp due to water absorption. The pump was also supposed to have a float switch what would shut off the pump if the water level became too low. The float was installed too low and allowed the pump to run dry for several days. I noticed the pump was running dry and re-positioned the float switch myself after inspection the pump I noticed that the shaft that connected the motor and the pump had warped due to heat. The pump is still in working order however it makes an annoying humming noise and probably costs me twice as much to run. There were many places that the under ground sprinkler line actually laid on top of the surface of the ground meaning that they did not bury the plastic pipe deep enough. I had several guests trip on the lines as they were walking through the yard. I also hit the line with the lawnmower. The crew also left quite a few open trenches and did not fill in the dirt where they had dug. They installed the shutoff valves in the middle of my drive way and left 2 feet of PVC pipe sticking up. After they had left they recommended that I install a 600 dollar "road box" to protect the valves instead of moving them out of the driveway like I had suggested. I even offered to pay extra. At the end of the year when they came out to blow out the lines they did something to make the valves leak. I came home to a puddle in my front yard. I asked the contractor to come look at the problem and warranty their work. After the repair was made they billed me 600 dollars and told me that it was my fault that that valves were leaking. Again not cleaning up their mess and leaving a large 2'x2' hole in the middle of my drive way. The whole installation process took twice as long as quoted because they kept forgetting parts and had to keep coming back. When I started to complain he finally showed up at 9 in the evening and tried making me feel bad that he was not able to spend any time with his family. In my opinion this contractor had too many things going on and did not have the time necessary to thoroughly plan out the project. I would like to warn fellow homeowners of these guys. They claim that they have been doing this for 20 years but the quality of service is very poor!

What they did well...sprinklers and grass seed. The sprinkler system and setup is good and they double seeded the grass by hand and it is coming in nice this Spring. Their method of applying the grass seed is well done and much better than "hydroseed". We have over 15 zones and it is working well...and they are on top of any maintenance needed for the sprinklers. What did not meet my expectations: Overall, I believe the project was too large for them. They became overwhelmed with the size and scope of the project even though it was clearly spelled out in the contract and we walked the property several times to scope it out. Because of that they got behind and started to cut corners. The fine grade of the dirt for the lawn areas was not good. Hundreds of large rocks and sticks the size of my hand/palm were left scattered over the lawn and the ground had numerous swells and valleys...not a flat lawn at all. So much so that the owner agreed to come back in the spring and fix it by doing a better job of cleaning the debris and leveling the ground and re-seeding. However, it still had swells and valleys...and the debris they simply threw to the side and into the flower beds without picking it up...frustrating. We also had them make changes to several items that they did incorrectly such as planting trees in the wrong spot or breaking our septic line. But they did fix it all and moved on...I understand that's just landscaping but it caused the delays even further. So their name is Sprinkler Specialties and they did a good job at that...the sprinklers and grass...and I am fine with that result. The landscaping and ground preparation did not meet my expectations and I was not pleased with the result for this size of project.

Bill and his crew were excellent, very professional and did great work. They worked hard all day long, even staying past 5 pm to get the work done quickly. I would highly recommend them, and would definitely hire them again if we needed other work done.

They were terrible. I didn't like any thing about their service. They were overpriced. Their pumps for the water feature kept going out and they were charging me again for new pumps. They were horrible.

Bill and his crew did an excellent job installing a sprinkler system at a rental property I have. In fact I was so pleased with the installation and how it was performed that I am going to hire bill for another project. Bill kept me informed as to the progress of the job and was able to completed the work earlier than estimated. He was punctual and professional at all times. HJ

I've dealt with them four other times and they are always outstanding. They are professional and they do exactly what is required. They offer helpful suggestion throughout and they are very pleasant to work with.

Owner was arrogant, overpriced and inefficient. Work crew of 4 took 5 days to install a system that should have been completed in less than 2 -3 days. Crew was often idle (neighbors thought they were a joke) with little supervision from owner. Water main connection with sprinkler system broke on a Sunday; owner did not respond to emergency call; neighbor turned off water main, but I was without water until following day (stayed overnight with relatives). Work was not completed as requested and owner would not acknowledge mistake, would only correct installation at cost. Unfortunately, I did not get details of work to be done IN WRITING - something I will do when obtaining future estimates - and therefore it was my word against his. Employ this company at own risk!

Overall, a reasonably good experience. Bill is pleasant and professional. Time was not a critical factor for us, but I did ask for a completion date which Bill provided. We missed that by a couple of days...no big issue. I was also told that only experienced crew members would be working on the job, although in talking to the on-site guy during install, it came to light that sprinkler installation was a part of the business he was in the process of learning...again not a huge deal. The completed system works fine. I did reinstall the control box, attaching screws were driven into sheetrock without any kind of anchor...a little sloppy. I did call Bill later for a consult on what I thought was a coverage problem, which he responded to quickly. Turns out the issue was really bugs in the lawn, not the system's fault. In all fairness, I should point out that I'm also in the building trades and am all about details, but not a j*** about it.

Very disappointing. Bill seemed like a nice guy, but he did not follow through on his commitments.

Bill answered the phone (not always a given for some companies) and was very friendly. He was able to come out the same day I called, and called ahead when he was on his way over. The price was as quoted. He was knowledgeable and helpful. I plan to use this company again for future work.

They have done an excellent job on the work they have done for us and also for my mother. They show up on time and get the job done and their prices are always the best.
