Description of Work: Brad used a scoping camera to view the condition of a sewer line for a home inspection. He had to remove a toilet in the house since there was no outside clean out available. During the last part of the recording, his camera malfunctioned. He did not say anything at the time about it. When I viewed the video a day later, I noticed the camera was blacking out near the end. I contacted him and he admitted to the camera failure and offered to come back in a couple of days and re-do the session. He did return and spent a couple of hours identifying the problem areas and marking the sewer line path with spray paint. I was working within a 10 day contingency period on a home purchase and he was very accommodating. He also returned a third time to bring an excavator to my home who could give me a reasonable quote for laying a new line. The camera failure episode was disappointing but Brad made up for it with extra effort stating that he just wanted me to be satisfied with his work. He is polite, knowledgeable and hard working. I recommend him highly.

+ -1 moreWe used Lateral Concepts on the recommendation of a realtor when we told her we were looking at buying an older house in downtown Coeur d’Alene. Brad was punctual and professional in his inspection of the lateral pipes on a house that we had placed an offer on. His report was timely and comprehensive. His fee was very reasonable for the two pipes inspected and he fully explained the process and answered my many questions during the actual operational procedure of viewing the inside of the sewer pipes. As it turned out, the sewer pipes on the house we were buying were compromised with tree roots, and this enabled us to have the pipes cleared and pressure washed at the seller’s expense. It also enabled us to get estimates to replace the pipes, so we had full information to determine if we wanted to proceed with the property purchase. In my opinion, if you are buying an older house, or one that has large trees in close proximity, a sewer inspection should be an essential service you utilize when buying a house. The upfront cost for inspecting the pipes is very reasonable and the savings could be in the thousands!
