 + -1 moreWent fine if not quickly. Older house, and some fitting and filing had to be done to make everything happy in its place. John's a very interesting guy and with a 30+ year history in the business, he's run into and worked with lots of interesting folks along the way. Very professional but also quite sociable. Just moved here a year or so ago. Our gain, their loss!
Description of Work: He was able to come the same day I called. He installed two deadbolts and changed out one doorhandle. Keyed two doors to the same key. Had to go to HD to get a deadbolt. Job got more involved as he went along, his price was incredibly reasonable considering the time he spent.

 + -1 moreMr. Reed arrived on schedule and did his job quickly and efficiently. He was very pleasant and we had a very nice conservation.
Description of Work: I had a storage room door that I could not get it unlocked. He unlocked the door and then keyed the storage room door and back door o the house the same for me. That enabled me to eliminate a key from my key chain. He also key the front door and patio door the same for me and that eliminated another key. his was all done and the price did not change.

He made doubly sure that I was satisfied with everything and understood all he did. I thought his price was very reasonable, which included lots of keys. There was no pressure to do any other work, and the work areas were left clean. John is everything a locksmith should be and I would certainly call him for any future work.
Description of Work: I called, made the appointment at my convenience, and John Reed came on time. He quickly assessed the work I wanted done, gave me options, and explained what he would do. He rekeyed the locks and deadbolts on two doors, and replaced a bad lock on a third door. He made as many keys as I wanted that were the same for all doors, and he cleaned and lubricated all locks as necessary.

 + -1 moreWe were in Marietta preparing our new house for occupancy. Our first call to John was to come and repair a broken door knob and lock. He came promptly and made the repairs swiftly and easily, charging us only the basic service charge. A week or so later, we called John back to change the locks on all the exterior doors. Again, he came at the appointed time, worked hard, did a nice job, made plenty of keys for us, and gave us special instructions on how to use the locks to our best advantage, He was very personable and friendly. I would endorse his service most strongly. His charge was very reasonable for the work done.
Description of Work: Repaired a broken lock on first visit. A few days later John replaced the existing locks and door knobs with double deadbolt locks on all exterior doors.

 + -1 moreExcellent! He came in, assessed the situation, did the hardware swap out, rekeyed the locks, tested everything, cleaned up, and left. Very quick, very efficient, very friendly, and did some extra work making sure the strikeplates were adjusted properly so the doors close tightly, but not too tight (so as to put excess pressure on the deadbolt).
Description of Work: Replaced two handles/deadbolts on outside doors and repaired a third door deadbolt. He also rekeyed the doors so we have one key for all locks.

 + -1 moreOverall it was an extremely positive experience and I would definitely recommend his services to anyone and everyone. This service was extremely important to me, as it was work that needed to be performed on my daughter's residence and for security reasons needed to be done immediately. I greatly appreciated him coming the same day that I called without any extra charge.
Description of Work: Re-keyed locks, replaced broken locks, drilled new deadbolt locks for me and fixed ones that were stuck and useless. All this work was performed professionally and even though our time to meet was scheduled between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. the same day that I called him, he actually arrived right at 5:30 and waited for me to get there about 10 minutes later. Usually if I'm not right on time with a service provider, they leave and I am left to reschedule. I greatly appreciated him accommodating my schedule and working with me. He went above and beyond even what I asked him to do and the estimate that he gave me over the phone was exactly what he charged me for the service.

He went to the home improvement store and purchased the required hardware, which accounted for more than 2/3 of the total cost. He made sure that he matched the hardware he was replacing, and he provided me with the home improvement store's receipt for my records. He re-keyed 2 exterior doors on my new office condo, and changed out the hardware on 6 interior office doors so that they were lockable. He provided 4 master keys and several additional keys to each office for renters. This is the second time I have hired John. He always does a great job!

Description of Work: Asked if they could make a key for a truck (we lost the only one we had). They explained I had to go to a dealer with the VIN # to get one made. Friendly and very helpful, even after they realized they wouldn't be making any money off me. Will definitely call them for any other locksmith needs I have in the future.

 + -1 moreI needed the locks changed on 3 exterior doors and 1 door located between the garage and the basement for a rental property. I preferred to have one key for all 4 doors, if possible, even on the interior door. John was able to fix the lock on the interior door to make that happen. In fact, he had to obtain a different part and returned to finish it on the following day. John was very prompt, early even, and such a pleasant person. We were able to schedule a time during the busy holidays when I would be in town. I was extremely pleased with the work and the price!

John recommended that one of the doorknobs/locks be replaced due to wear and age. He offered to come back the next day to replace those parts for only the cost of hardware. I am very happy with the work and feel that he went above and beyond what most locksmiths would do. I will definitely call him the next time I need a locksmith.

 + -1 moreJohn provided superb service. Arriving five minutes earlier than agreed and examining all locks and suggesting re-keying or in one case lock replacement. All work was performed in an efficient manner.
Description of Work: John re-keyed all locks and provided new keys. He was able to re-tool the locks resulting in one key for locks to all doors on the main floor. He then re-tooled the basement and garage entry for another key. I now have two keys for the house. We are moving in within a few days and the previous owner presented us with eight keys.
